You guys...Thank you guys so MUCH! 200 viewers watching the premiere of this is...unbelievable. I know the chat went down before I could finish giving you guys as much of my appreciation as possible. thank you all for being there. And Dawn and Taylor, thank you for donating, your unbelievable. This has been such a great time, and I can only imagine where this will all go in the future, but to know that you all brought things this far, only inspires me to try and take it up in the future. Remake will be back, and even more. Thank you again, and thank you for supporting this series! And thank you to my new Patreons, its all too crazy to even believe. I will see you all in the next vide-
@@Sleepezi This was an amazing series and thank you for having the wherewithal to slog through the ENTIRE compilation and producing it into an easily digestible format. This idea of "themes" makes me want to start looking at consistent themes throughout Final Fantasy as a franchise. The idea of Chaos actually being from different planets is semi supported through Dissidia's warriors of harmony (lead by Cosmos) vs warriors of chaos (lead by Chaos). The specific design elements of Type-0 being pinpointed by the lack of features from ALL behemoths throughout the franchise aside from Azul. The entire thing just has my head churning looking for references and repeated design and narrative choices. Totally looking forward to what the future may hold for this game and your content. My only nitpick is the constant idea from everyone in the community about the idea of Zack being alive. Yeah it does suck. If that's what I truly believed was the case. I believe he's still dead. My only real evidence is body and facial language presented by Aerith at the end of the game (when Zack and Cloud pass by) and the line "I miss the steel sky" and Nomura actually states in an interview that Aerith hates the sky because it symbolizes sadness and that Zack and her mother were taken away to the sky. They also talk about how Stamp is different in the end and Nojima states that Stamp is a character that everyone (in the game world) knows about him and AVALANCHE use him to convey secret messages and Nomura adds to this by saying he was in charge of the design of the Stamp AVALANCHE uses. As we know in Remake the "Stamp AVALANCHE uses" is the same Stamp that Shinra uses. Or is it? Perhaps Stamp has multiple designs to begin with? That being said I'm anxiously waiting for part 2 (God forbid it's anything like the "leaks") and the continued deconstruction of the series and theory crafting yet to come. See you in the next ventu- ~bowlympicshero
Uh Zirconiade did not bring down Sector 6 therefore it could still be canon. Furthermore, the final battle of Before Crisis took place in a interdimensional space at the end of the Midgar highway A.K.A the same place we fought Sephiroth in the remake. Also, the ending took place a few months before the beginning of the OG which is plenty of time for a change of leadership and direction for the old guard of Avalanche. That being said everything else was solid. Good work Sleepezi.
Thanks for the great series! When will you do that crossover with Final Fantasy Peasant? His latest theories are in the same line and it would be crazy to see you guys talk about FF7R. Also, do you have any predictions for where Part 2 of the remake will end plot wise?
The problem is that all his work is partly based on additions which are not considered canon by the Devs. The compendium was basically thrown out of the window.
You worked so hard to allow this story to shine even brighter Thank you so much for bringing us more hope at the same time of doing the right thing for FF7's community as a whole. It would have been way easier to do like some other lazy content creators and just take the easy route, laugh at the new concepts and make 3h videos saying that it's bad, but you did the exact opposite of that. Your project series enhanced the love I have for this wonderful game and its meticulously crafted story Respect
@@Pikachu-qr4yb no, she wasn't bound to that planets will so she could travel cosmos. Now she's dead (in a manner of speaking) and Sephiroth was bound to the will of Gaea's Lifestream because Cloud killed him, there's only really 1 known things keeping Sephiroth from being absorbed. 1, is the planet doesn't want to accept him, because of the contamination of the negative Lifestream. 2nd is his will, and as it says in the video, that's because of the negative Lifestream as well.
Dude you're nuts. This game is nuts. And I really mean this in the most positive way ever. Thanks a lot for the series! What a dedication from a true FF7 fan.
Despite spending hundreds of hours playing the games, you have made me appreciate the depth and richness of the storytelling. I am unable to piece together this web, thank you for breaking it down and articulating it so clearly. It is so rewarding to replay these games and notice the points you raise.
These theory videos are lowkey some of the greatest achievements ever given to any community in the history of gaming. I hope everyone who plays or knows the FF7 Compilation comes to know this series as required knowledge for playing the other parts going forward, and knowing the full breadth of everything this story is trying to tell us.
Wow. Took me a couple days but this was an amazing series. It taught me a lot about the compilation that I didn't know but what blew my mind is how it made me feel. To realize how much darkness and evil lurks around in this world really gave me chills. Enough to make me feel afraid.
I only hope that Remake continues to enhance the elements of the threats that these videos depict. I want to be afraid of this world, and how dangerous it can be. FF7 has such a solid link to themes that only make the feeling of survival more intense. my fingers are crossed that they execute this properly. I am glad you enjoyed the series! thank you for watching it!
Just finished and I must say I feel the same way you do about all of this. The level of care and absolute love that went into Remake with it's gameplay, story, nods and easters eggs is truly a thing of beauty. We are in great hands and for those who doubt the direction watch Sleepezi videos 1 to 5.
@@fenrir9784 Honestly it really doesn't matter how others feel. Square made this personal meaning I felt they made this game for me. That's how well of a job they did. The attention to detail and new story beats refreshed an already interesting story. They made me fall in love with this world again the characterization and themes were front and center to prove the doubters wrong. Hell House, Honey bee, Cait Sith cameo, Soundtrack in sector 5 crises core nod, Barret being the first male figure in Clouds life to act fatherly and show him how to be resolute, Clouds Mother, Tifa's hesitance, Slum digging with Aerith, Avalanche, Turks, President Shines and Rufus, Ghost section that is more deep than folks were ready for a literal truth bomb in subtext, battle system etc etc truly everything was enhanced and brought to life so effectively. We saw a glimpse of Square soft of yore and it has been a springboard to Square Enix in a way that will pay dividends for evermore. They hit it out of the park and seem reenergized by sales and reception. They will prove to the critics that the direction is earned and Felt the love from all of us who genuinely were blown away. This is best case scenario and to See FF16 being driven forward in sequence with Remake part 2 with a third new IP Project Athia cooking FF fans and JRPG fans and folks who like great deep carefully crafted cinematic RPG or just games have benefitted greatly from the reception. The compilation and FF generally are being celebrated in current year. Trust and know that the ride is not over in fact it just started the climb.
@@fenrir9784 This is the first game I pulled a notebook out and took notes on everything throughout my hard playthrough due to the ending events. I than needed 1 more dress and instead of chapter selecting I played a third hard run to see my notes to find hidden gems. I do not make videos as I am an engineer by trade not much free time. This was a special experience. I bought two additional copies that I gave to friends because I wanted them to experience this special piece of media. I can tell you the majority of folks were floored with the exception being those who played Kingdom hearts and non of the compilation of FF7.
6:25 - 9:45 I had a hard time focusing on what you were saying because the combination of Advent Children's and Remake's version of "The Promised Land" hit me hard with emotion.
That is a Ligit Mashup that Username “Neo-Midgar” created Here on RUclips. Here’s the link to it if You want to listen to it in full. ruclips.net/video/Wec7JksPR3U/видео.html
Ok, I warned you ;-) But I really wanna know if my thoughts are correct so far. When the group arrived at the end of the street - Aerith knew Zack was dead, but had no details about his last stand. I think this is important, because in the og she never discovered it until lifestream. In the remake, when Sephiroth made the whispers spread from the building all over the world, the whispers transferred Clouds last memories of Zack (the cc scene) directly to Aerith. You can see that, if you pay attention to it. After this she knew the place where Zack was and what happened to him. She knew he needed help to survive the shinra troops at that time. When Sephi opened the portal it was a dark hole first, destiny restricted to Midgar only and without causing major changes. Aerith now saw her chance to save Zack. So she changed the portal to make changes happen even outside of Midgar - at Zacks time and place. You can see how those sparkles appear around the portal when she changes it. The same sparkles which "rained" all over the world when destiny was defeated. So it was her who made this happen. At the end, when Zack and Cloud pass the group, she experienced through the rain that the changes worked - and she kinda felt that she saved Zack. Her face shows relieve and fear at the same time...because she knows this event will be very impactful in the future.
I assumed this too, Sephiroth wouldn't want another enemy so I figured it was either a unforseen event or Aerith's doing. I also assumed she used the magic on the portal via the white materia.
this makes the most sense to me as far as why he would live, I would love to see this be the explanation for it! her actions doing something for him to avert his death would be an interesting thing to see her character deal with in the future as well. Maybe that will lead to something even more sinister to see with his character to some degree too...I think this is certainly something to keep an eye on going forward. I never considered what was outside of the bubble as something that she would effect, but it seems pretty clear the way you present it. The only input I have is that this is one of the more interesting arguments that I have seen put out there. but like all theories were just going to have to see wont we? Thank you for being patient to share this, I am glad that I was able to read this and soak it in a bit more.
YO THIS IS DEFINITELY WHAT HAPPENED! I have studied those scenes pretty extensively, and I always thought it was super strange that the Zack sequence played out over MULTIPLE cutscenes, starting right when you mentioned. Why was that the moment when his plot was reintroduced? Because that's right when Aerith changed the portal. This also goes PERFECTLY with Sleepezi's theory about the Smile book and Aerith getting in touch with those who she felt she needed, namely Zack. And why would she feel she needed Zack in this exact moment? Because of Sephiroth's plan just like the video described? If Sephiroth were to take control of Cloud, the one person who could turn things around is Zack.
Really enjoyed this video! As someone who likes very small parts of the compilation and absolutely loved FF7 Remake the idea you presented makes me very happy and hopeful for the future. Also I laughed pretty hard when the screen went black to show the text "TUBES"
I just binged all these videos today and I’m incredibly impressed. What impressed me the most is that these are literally the only 5 videos you made so far. Yet they are exceptional in quality and have rightly earned you attention in the fan community. Best of luck with your content going forward! I’m rooting for you.
Just wanted to thank you for this series. It's been great to see videos that goes into analyzing the content of the Remake as well as the compilation rather than take a "writers' workshop" approach to it. There's structure, coherence, and lots and lots of research in all of your videos. It's great to listen to! My friends and I would get together online to watch this series together and discuss it afterward, and it's been so much fun to do deep dives into these games that I love so much. So thank you again for taking the time to make this content, for all the effort you've put into it, and for sharing it with us!
It was well worth the wait. Out of all the ff7 story interpreters I've watched over the years, you have truly topped them all. This was a great piece of work. You've gone far and beyond anyone else I've watched. Bravo. 👏👏👏👏👏
Whew what a journey this has been watching these 5 videos! Considered my brain officially fried. I appreciate all the work you put into this and I definitely value your thoughts and ideas that were presented. I can't wait to see how the rest of the FF7R story will play out. Thanks for all of this!
I finally watched Advent Children Complete and Kadaj's conversation with Rufus really stuck with me, in fact looking into it was what made me find the series in the first place. His line about ridding the cosmos of "fools like you" and talking to the kids about striking back at the planet. There was a philosophy there. And while I suspect he was projecting his own feelings onto Jenova, Sephiroth talking about a "shining future" and them welcoming the geostigma kids into their family had a benevolent feel to it. I felt like there was something there, but I wasn't sure what. But if Jenova is an abandoned-Chaos it makes sense. Traveling the universe killing judgmental abusive planets and ridding them of the self-righteous people that would follow such a cruel system and building their own world without a need for that kind of system. I again don't think that's what Jenova was actually doing, but it very well could be what Kadaj THINKS she was doing. Also it just dawned on me that Vincent, who defeated Weiss and Nero (who represent white and black) wears red. You talked about the whole thing with Genesis wearing red earlier. And the cetra at the center of the two pairs in Aerith's painting that seemed to be leading the whole thing also wore red. I feel like red is some kind of color representing oversight to the system. I honestly wish the blue gem on Minerva's crown was red, as it would cement it perfectly, but even then she's still associated with red materia. Though that blue forehead eye does connect with Deep Ground at least. Random musings and thoughts aside, I just felt like I should also comment that this is probably my favorite analysis/speculation series ever.
Giving this series a rewatch in the post-Rebirth, Post The First Soldier Episode II-release world. Really takes me back to how hype it was to open RUclips and see the next installment in this series in my feed. Can’t wait for that feeling again!
I do not understand the people that are mad. I love this, fleshes out the story and characters, takes the same ideas and gives them a fresh take within the same story. I can't wait to see where it goes.
Finally got done with watching this whole series. Felt like I should've been scribbling down notes for the final exam. I need a course credit from my Final Fantasy VII class. Checking ratemyprofessor to see how difficult Sleepezi's exams are. Great job Professor!
Long tangent, but some things occurred to me. If we go by your theory that there were two different faction of Cetra, then it echoes The struggle of Avalance and Wutai VS. Shinra. The cycle repeating. The "purist" Cetra, who dwelled in Agito lived by the will of the planet, while the progressive Cetra migrated to the Southern Island and founded their own society. This is why the Northern Ancients had a fantasy vibe, while the Islanders were more Egyptain. There they exploited nature and created the Black Materia. While the Northerners developed Holy for opposing intentions. When I look at that Hieroglyphic mural; in the Temple of the Ancients, I don't see it so much as a mere record of events, as I do a manual for the planet's destruction. They abused science and nature, much like Shinra. But Ancient purists weren't so innocent themselves, and would go to extremes to persevere the planet's cycle. Holy and he Weapons weren't so much a band-aid incase the world gets a random catastrophic boo-boo. It's more like a counter-offensive to the Southerners' abuse of the planet. They meant for it to happen regardless. The compilation events put the Planet's will itself into motion. The will of all the players; the warring Ancients and modern factions alike; only played into the hand of the Planet. Perhaps only Sephiroth could break that cycle. If he could become stronger than Minerva, he could keep the planet in a permanent Jenova form, from which to expand out into the stars. A will to end all wills. True Legion. So there's the Biblical parallel of Lucifer rebelling against divine order through the chaos of Satan (Jenova,) but that's another rant. Sleepei is a true Cetra. We can't solidify the wisedom of the ancients, but he's opened our eyes clearly to it.
It’s been a fantastic journey listening to the breakdown of the story. Hope to see you soon especially in collaboration with other ffvii channels. You deserve the recognition.
I have been doing quite a bit of collabing in interviews and in other ways. I have yet to promote them properly through a video. But that problem should be taken care of soon.
Fantastic content! I've been waiting for this video ever since I first watched the last video and you delivered. I can't wait to see future videos keep up the great work. Your deaths in your content is next level as long as you keep that going you are going to make it far in the RUclips world
I remember thinking when I finished remake that they were going for a definitive experience. When I finished the first game there were some plot elements that weren't resolved and parts of disc 2 felt really rushed. The compilation seemed to just make things more complicated and its nice to see that there are doing their best to make it part of the mainline story in a complimentary way. Alternative title: Sephiroth plays 4d chess the series. I freaking love how he is even manipulating the audiences memories- really meta-level stuff and I think nomura is using his experience with KH to add to the remake rather than detracting like all of the haters are whining.
I love the original, the compilation, and the remake. And I definitely want to see a solid conclusion for Genesis, the Tsviets, and Minerva. Also, I hope we get to see Shalua again.
I've really enjoyed your videos so much! It's been one heck of journey. I've always been one of those people who stood by the elements that the Compilation added to the bigger picture of FF7 as a whole. There were some really cool elements... were they handled very well? No not really but now the devs have the chance to add them in as supporting details to the main story.
Lol I am glad that this series can stand to be re-watched! I know that they all are very packed together, some things may work better than others, but in future videos were going to make sure to hone that in! Glad to provide the entertainment! and thank you for watching!
Got you covered with a new one that just got released! ;) I seriously appreciate you leaving a comment on each of the videos expressing your enjoyment of these videos. they are my favorite comments to read T. T Its amazing to see people still finding enjoyment in them after a whole year of some of them being out O.O Thank you for watching! genuinely!
I'll miss this series, but I'm so grateful for it, your musings and ideas are an amazing tribute to a story I love so much. These videos are yellow flowers you've planted in my heart, and I thank you.
When Sephiroth got announced for Smash I wasn't hype at all. I had no idea who he was, I just knew OF Cloud and FF7 from Smash. Then I finally decided to play the original FF7 all the way through. I was hooked from the beginning. I was playing it all day, nearly every day, and finished it before Christmas. After Christmas I bought Remake and finished on New Years Eve, I am currently playing through again on hard mode. After watching 2 podcast Maximilian Dood was on, discussing this game, I watched Advent Children Complete... I thought it was terrible but that's besides the point. Now that I'm here at the end of this massive video series, its amazing to me how quickly I've been able to fall in love with this series so much. Can't wait for Remake 2.
I am absolutely in love with this post. Simply because I understand completely, it took me only 2 months from experiencing remake to these videos, and I cant express how fast it all happened. but through it all I just have come to appreciate all of it, in how it all comes together. I really am glad that you enjoyed the video, as it is only meant to express that same excitement and love! Cant wait to see what happens next!
A few thoughts as I've been following this wonderful series you've done. Seriously, amazing detective work. I am eagerly awaiting to watch more of it all unfold in Pt.II just to see how many home runs you have hit. 1. I had no idea how important of a role both Vincent and Genesis played in the entirety of the FF7 lore as a whole. I'll be very interested to see how they mesh bringing back Genesis now, and what potential new role Vincent will play, if any, other than a supporting character. I think it would be a big ask to expect your fanbase to have played 2 different games, from 2 different consoles, and remember them coherently from 2006/2007. I hope you're right that FF7R negates the need for referencing the Compilation to enjoy all that there is, while also including a majority of what it originally meant. 2. Sephiroth highlighting that "the planet is dying" just passed me by as a phrase when playing the game, but for you to show that those who die now, their souls will be burned by Shinra's reactors JUST to keep the lights on... Wow. That's fucked. Like I knew that, but geez. And if Cloud were to die the memories of Sephiroth, keeping him alive, would die too. Damn. Then, as if that weren't enough, now "time" itself is at stake... that's good writing. 3. Eligor having insight into the future, thus trying to stop the party from making it to the Plate on time is brilliant evidence that so many little moments from OG FF7 are being extended for our pleasure. I absolutely love it, and it gives me full confidence that we're in good hands. Like I never expected I would absolutely adore Jessie this time around. "Psyche." She's a footnote in the original in the grand scope of things. I just can't understand how so many people complain over Pt.I only being Midgar when we have so many minuscule moments from '97 being expounded upon. While others complain, I'm left feeling nothing but excitement to see more moments like this. However, I need the writers to present some of these ideas a little more clearly for people to better appreciate them. I'm all for "Show, don't tell" but you shouldn't have to revert to RUclips analysis videos to get most of them. All in all, FF7R is as exciting as it was in '97 all over again, and I'm so happy to be apart of it. It really takes me back to the old school Final Fantasy vibes from back in the day that I hope rubs off on the newer entries to follow.
Sephifrog!! I made it to the end! SE need to get @Sleepezi in on the PT II development. Would love to see you host your own Q&A on twitch sometime. Just subscribed there too.
I love it- I’ve enjoyed all your videos, thanks so much for putting in all this work! Your vids are the most helpful tool for fans who want to enjoy and explore FF7 lore to a greater depth, and I am one such fan!
I felt that gasp after you saying you're checking everything 100 times to make sure you're not a moron. I can just say you're doing the God's work! While I do think some of the things you elaborate weren't as thought out by SE from the beginning I LOVE those theories and I hope they do expand on some of your ideas. I've been entertained these last few days watching your vids
Amazing work! Well thought out and put together. As an og fan who played FF7 back in the late 90’s, I loved remake part 1 even without the full knowledge of the compilation (other than advent children). Thank you for diving so deeply into the compilation and bringing even more depth to a game and story that I love.
It was a pleasure for me to get into it, and a pleasure to make the videos. and a complete blessing to have people like you watch and enjoy the vids! Glad to hear that you found enjoyment even from coming into it from the Original! Thank you so much for your time and thoughtful message!
In most other ff games buhamut or any of the summons are not necessarily 'good guys' if you ask me.. for instance in ffxiv a relm reborn buhamut is responsible for destroying the world essentially.
I'm a huge OG fan, my favorite game. Not as savvy on the entire compilation, so I'm thankful for your series. You do the community a huge service! Admittedly, the 1 hr plus long videos are an overload of info that my be better in shorter vids with recaps at the end lol. But one thing you touched on resonates with me and got me thinking..... Sephiroth says he plans to travel the cosmos as jenova did. The calamity from the sky. You mentioned how she was a form of another planet's chaos and has come to Gaia afterwards... a common theory and theme within 7 lore is reoccurring events and an endless cycle of fate. Got me thinking, the black materia used to summon meteor could be summoning the next cycle, jenova coming via meteor as another calamity from the sky, in a universe of endless cycle. Thus recreating the 2000 yr build up to the same moment. Impact almost wipes existence, except for the few that maintain the knowledge of events passed through the lifestream, the cetra, and live out the cycle up to the next summoning. Remake's end may enlighten us of this and provide a definitive way of breaking the cycle. Idk.... just go me thinking lol. Thanks if anyone reads this and sees any validation in it😁
Hi. French viewer here. Big fan of FF7 and your videos gave me so much informations but it's a bit hard to compile all of them. I know it would be very long but i would appreciate a digest version. I want to be able to remember all the details when i'll playing the second part of the remake and it seems i'll need to rewatch all 5 videos ^^" Nevertheless, you made a really good work so congrats for finishing them. Much love, have a nice day :)
I would love to do something of an abridged! The video I am planning on releasing has some condensed theories from this series, I will see about making a list of all the theories.
Damn that is some amazing beautiful work and insight of the whole of FFVII saga and the actual idea of what FFVII Remake really is damn man any chance of doing something similar to the other FF games and some of the other games at Square Enix like parasite eve for example? Please
This really came together well at about the 1 hour mark. All that stuff about sephiroth binding himself to cloud was really good man. I think you're dead on about whats taking place there at the edge of creation. In the OG ff7 that's where cloud has to go to try and purge his ties with sephiroth so it makes sense that's where he solidifies it at the end of part 1 of remake.
damn. discovered this series last night after someone linked the last 15 of part 2 on reeddit and finished the last one right now. what a freaking trip .
Thank you so much for these wonderful videos. I hope that it truly is fun for you and that it stays fun. I know how loud certain voices can be online and the last thing I want is for you to become stressed out by this loud minority. Stay safe and look after yourself xx
Sometimes hero dies at end. Mayby Cloud understand that he must die that Sephrioth would be finally defeated. That could be end of this story. p.s. someone else too likes to use Iron Blade
Squilliam Barnacles what better way to forever immortalize their poster boy of their most popular game ever than to have him sacrifice himself at the very end? Not saying that I would like it but my God that would be heartbreaking because he’s my favorite character of FF.
Reset Button it just won’t work, his character arc is written in a way he needs to have survivors guilt. Also they tried the whole kill the main character off thing with Noctis and it worked cause Noctis was destined to do so by the summons to get rid of the star scourge. If they went that road is like saying Cloud and Tifa must die to get rid of Sephiroth and Geostigma. It just won’t work
Your work is incredible, especially considering just how much info you have to sift through to pull this all into a semblance of order. I still feel like I've been indoctrinated into some kind of cult, considering I've just listened to these back to back
We are all here because its a fun time to think about it! I personally love watching videos that I love over again just because of the energy or ideas they bring! So I am very glad that these vids could do the same for you in some way! Thank you for commenting and for watching!
This series has been incredible! I was enthralled throughout each video. Watching these has really made me excited for the future of FF7 Remake. Can't wait for more of your content! Keep it up 👍
I am so stoked to see you make it through all of these! its such a pleasure knowing that not only you watched one of them, but all of the series! I greatly appreciate it! and I hope you enjoyed the newest video too!
@@Sleepezi I actually watched your newest video yesterday, it was really good! I'm rly excited to see what they are going to do with part 2. It's going to be rly interesting to potentially see characters from DoC appear.
Okay you totally got me on the painting with fenrir and the yellow-purple association, which i was skeptical just 2 parts ago on, haha... Good job on this. Hope even some of it is correct, and im sure some is.
This was the best. You're my new best friend and we've never met haha. This is everything I ever wanted in analysis and everything I didn't even know I wanted.
Splendid work, I was hoping to see part 5 sooner, so the lifestream is the cycle of life, interrupted by Shinra. I'm also guessing that Jenova is in a sense Chaos of a different planet or whatever. Also negative lifestream is like a part of it outside time, also the universe relies on memories. Outstanding!
I'd love to engage in discussion about the incredible job you did dissecting every avenue of speculation in this city of theory-crafting, but that'll have to be another time. For now I just want to tell you a story that you might find funny. After I finished playing Remake in the early days following its release, I followed a fair few fan discussions and analysis videos. This led to the first video in this series getting recommended to me. I saw the thumbnail and how positive the response to it was and I was intrigued. Still, it was quite long. Not even as long as a lot of other stuff I'd watched, but I think the length coupled with it being part of a series led me to think _"I'll save this for later and have a good binge when I have the time."_ And I can be busy, but I'll often have a good couple of days off, if not a week or two, to say nothing of the few months of unemployment I had or the year I took out that was riddled with free time. Basically, there were *many* opportunities. Anyway, long story short, nearly four years since Remake came out and within the week that Rebirth is due to come out, I, naturally, just crammed the entire series into one day! And the best part? I did all this immediately _after_ watching your more recent and up-to-date three-hour theory video about memory, so I'd already seen the crash course on your more developed thoughts immediately prior to it! Needless to say, my head is spinning from all the details and connections you've made, which is extremely impressive! I really enjoyed the deep dive, so thank you for expanding my understanding of this remarkably woven story and world! As long as I'm here, I might as well ask, any predictions on what the title of the third game in the Remake trilogy is going to be? I wanna say 'Resolve' but that feels a bit too on the nose...
I loved the story, and really appreciate it! I would love to recommend the shortest of the bunch, final page, that maybe a nice tie up of all that you have already seen. To answer your question: Return. I think it has several really positive implication, but a very dark one as well.
Look I'm good with Zack coming back. The whole timeline thing makes it interesting. A timeline where he survived. Always wondered how that would be and we get to see now.
The Zack being alive thing is a terrible idea and I hope to God that is not a reality. I liked this video a lot. I was pretty disgruntled by the ending, and I still sort of am, but to lesser extent. Good stuff man!
Man i really admire all the hard work you have done with this series and thank you i enjoy and learn a lot of the FFVII games and series my all time favorite videogame... i have a question for you... to me at least Sephiroth is the most powerfull Villain and threath in all FFVII compilation but what do you think? who is for you the strongest and dangreous threath in this story?
That's a really interesting question: I would say that Minerva for me could prove to be a very powerful antagonist, but as we have seen from past actions the lifestream is susceptible to the power that Jenova and Sephiroth carry. So more realistically, Jenova and Sephiroth together are by far the most prominent threats. Without Jenova, Sephiroth wouldn't be such a threat, but that works both ways. Sephiroth to me will remain at the top for now, because of how powerful his will is, he was able to overtake Jenova and use her to not only bring himself back, but also create a spiritual threat out of her in the form of the Negative life stream. For remake that remains to be seen, I think the story could put any one of these characters at the top of that list, The lifestream as a function of the universe could make it so that Minerva has more of a hand in the events of this one planet, while Sephiroth could easily gain control over that depending on the circumstances. But from what I can tell these structures of the livestream are all things that can be dismantled and controlled given the opportunity, all of which Sephiroth is shown to be able to do. I hope that this answers the question properly: Thank you for watching, and thank you for the comment!
Maybe Zack is insurance for Sephiroth. In case he can't use Cloud, he has someone even more powerful. Or vice-versa. Aerith saved Zack to help Cloud by getting rid of his regret.
I don't believe it's time travel. Some folks suggest that in FF7 Remake, it's time travel, thinking it's a sequel to the original FF7, but it's not. It's more like the story is retold, focusing on certain parts from the compilation. People think Aerith and Sephiroth time-traveled because they seem to know a lot things they shouldn't . Aerith's knowledge could come from the planet, like when she told her elmyra about her husband returning to the planet. In the original FF7, Sephiroth falls into the lifestream, and in one of the Ultimanias (can't recall which), it says he doesn't have to use materia due to the knowledge of the ancients and magic that he received . This might explain why he knows things he shouldn't. Memories from the lifestream surpassed time , so he could know future stuff. It's not time travel, and the Remake isn't a sequel.
The scary thing about this series is that what you're saying is spot on, but it's so hard to imagine that the story could be this deep. The second scariest thing is if it doesn't live up the the hype you have created here, but in showing how the other parts of the compilation were worked into the remake directly, maybe I should have more faith for the future.
The only thing crazier than digging into Loveless and Dirge is going into details about a Dirge spin off game lol. This makes me wonder about Nero's inclusion into the Remake now. Like. . . a pure vessel that enters the lifestream corrupted by Jenova. Do you guys think Sonon might fit that description? 🤔
good length on the video--- but dude this was just a teaser of what we know YOU know--- so please disperse onto us your niche knowledge on this game--- it will be a while until part 2 comes out and trust me---..... Your videos and insight are Absolutely appreciate in these dry times, truly you have fans and I look forward to more releases.. no foot-dipping in the pool ! dive in and we will follow after you!
I have watched your videos intermittently because I just feel like, I take away something different every time. If there’s anyone who has the ability to redeem the compilation in the eyes of fans, it’s you. In a post-Intermission world…it will be so interesting to see what will become of Sonon in DG with Nero after having been pulled into his darkness. I know the lore states it “takes something from you” I have to wonder if they won’t also use this as a means to also ADD…to Sonon’s moveset or capabilities in some way?
That could very easily be it! Since there isn't any definitive information of their presence even within the main game, it makes it hard to say either way for me clearly. the force they seem to be fearful of before the descent is undescribed, and very mysterious and out of place. just seemed to fit a moment that almost lacked context, making me suspect that it was linked to the unholy army, which also has no context in the actual game. at least this is the way I thought it made sense at the time. the main point of that section was just to highlight that Malicious energy being used mainly, so whether that is Golems or an unknown foe, it is just something fun to think about! :)
I will see you all in the next vide-
Thanks for the awesome series mate
thank you for being apart of it!
See you in the next ventu-
~bowlympicshero
I consider Sleepezys theory as Canon.
No worries just drop a Fat Chocobo on Diavolo
@@kermitwithamustache3885 yes
The problem is that all his work is partly based on additions which are not considered canon by the Devs. The compendium was basically thrown out of the window.
@Aaron9 like what? You have some examples?
You worked so hard to allow this story to shine even brighter
Thank you so much for bringing us more hope at the same time of doing the right thing for FF7's community as a whole. It would have been way easier to do like some other lazy content creators and just take the easy route, laugh at the new concepts and make 3h videos saying that it's bad, but you did the exact opposite of that.
Your project series enhanced the love I have for this wonderful game and its meticulously crafted story
Respect
Jenova as the Chaos of another planet just melted my brain. So good! Subbed
Wouldn't she be the Omega part though? Since she's the one who actually traveled? Maybe she's omega and chaos of her planet merged
What if she was sin from ff10? Since we know the games are in the same universe
"FF7R is more FF7 than FF7" T. Rogers
makes me feel like i'm Cloud and you're Aerith, ya know i had this feeling you explained
That's why it's so hurtful to see toxic comments about Remake and the team, they put their soul in this
@@fenrir9784
Honestly it really doesn't matter how others feel.

Ok, I warned you ;-)
But I really wanna know if my thoughts are correct so far.
Whoa. I kinda hope this is the case.
this makes the most sense to me as far as why he would live, I would love to see this be the explanation for it!
her actions doing something for him to avert his death would be an interesting thing to see her character deal with in the future as well.
@@Sleepezi What if the whispers also helped
I couldn’t help myself XD
I just binged all these videos today and I’m incredibly impressed. What impressed me the most is that these are literally the only 5 videos you made so far. Yet they are exceptional in quality and have rightly earned you attention in the fan community. Best of luck with your content going forward! I’m rooting for you.
This was absolutely fun and exciting series of videos. So much work put on to these and to talk about the raw brain power...yeesh
Papa Sleepezi has returned to bless us once more :)
Thank you an absolutely epic saga! You’ve taken me on a hell of a wild ride and I can’t wait for any future content you put out! ✌️
I believe the blue eye you pointed out in this video could be indicative of the blue jewel Minerva has on her crown.
This is EXACTLY what I thought. and I have a theory about this exact subject! I will be talking about that more in the future!
Knowing now what we know about the Gi...... the bloody tears....

Finally got done with watching this whole series. Felt like I should've been scribbling down notes for the final exam. I need a course credit from my Final Fantasy VII class. Checking ratemyprofessor to see how difficult Sleepezi's exams are. Great job Professor!
The amount of effort in these videos is unbelievable. Thank you for giving these to us. Incredible
This is such remarkable work, man.
What if I told you......that I am really excited to see it!
Amazing series thank you! I will definitely be rewatching the whole thing again at some point because wowwwwie it's just so much juicy info

Can't wait for Remake 2.
welcome to the club.
Cant wait to see what happens next!
seconded! :D
I think I completely buy into EVERYTHING you are selling. Zack is the one thing I want to know your thoughts on what it could mean haha
i guess nothing changed in Zack's destiny, but from his special place in the lifestream, near Aerith, he saw! we paid the steep price..

Im trying to sleep and thought of something, if yellow means good and purple the bad then, doesnt that mean Bahamut evil in his current form??
I want to be able to remember all the details when i'll playing the second part of the remake and it seems i'll need to rewatch all 5 videos ^^"
Nevertheless, you made a really good work so congrats for finishing them.
Much love, have a nice day :)
I would love to do something of an abridged! The video I am planning on releasing has some condensed theories from this series, I will see about making a list of all the theories.
Excellent theory that this remakes the compilation rather than continues it.
Oh yes, here we go! TY Sleepezi for all your hard work and just epic theory discussions.
This is the same concept in lightning returns. Bunavelza wants only pure souls. So he uses Sarah to kill the impure souls.
Damn that is some amazing beautiful work and insight of the whole of FFVII saga and the actual idea of what FFVII Remake really is damn man any chance of doing something similar to the other FF games and some of the other games at Square Enix like parasite eve for example? Please
I'm also super jealous of your 8-bit outro music
I appreciate that! I did have a bug to make music before I created the video series, ended up making some things that came in handy! lol
I have reached the end and am now sad 😢 lol solid content. Look forward to more eventually
damn. discovered this series last night after someone linked the last 15 of part 2 on reeddit and finished the last one right now. what a freaking trip .
Nah, no way they killing off their poster child, not after the whole disaster with Final Fantasy XV
It just won’t work
@@kermitwithamustache3885 Tidus died a century before ff10 took place.
1:05:09 ~ Is it just me, or does the Lifestream bursting from Midgar look like a flower also?
Okay you totally got me on the painting with fenrir and the yellow-purple association, which i was skeptical just 2 parts ago on, haha... Good job on this. Hope even some of it is correct, and im sure some is.
This was the best. You're my new best friend and we've never met haha. This is everything I ever wanted in analysis and everything I didn't even know I wanted.
Every time this man mentions Darkness in theory with Chaos with Yuffie and Tifa, I keep being reminded of Kingdom Hearts and it's ridiculous lol
I cannot argue against this lol.
Thank you RichD :D
Splendid work, I was hoping to see part 5 sooner, so the lifestream is the cycle of life, interrupted by Shinra. I'm also guessing that Jenova is in a sense Chaos of a different planet or whatever. Also negative lifestream is like a part of it outside time, also the universe relies on memories. Outstanding!
Another amazing video! I really think you are spot on with your analysis and your predictions. I really hope you are right
Do you think someday you could do a "DeepDive in the Lore" playthrough serie for FF7R? I feel like this could be so great from you :)
To answer your question:
Return.
I think it has several really positive implication, but a very dark one as well.
My guess is either Redemption or Revelation ( even if Reunion would’ve been perfect… )
Great video Sleepezi!!!!
10/10!!!!!
This is something to definitely have to watch multiple times to catch everything, geez it's a lot to take in
Look I'm good with Zack coming back.
What if "Zack being alive" isn't a terrible idea, but a theory yet to be solved?
All of these theory videos are already my canon for the whole lore~
@@Sleepezi yes! and thank you for the time!. i´m looking forward to new videos in the FFVII series or maybe in another FF game :)
Just subbed on Patreon - my first time! Looking forward to watching the compilation play through.
Maybe Zack is insurance for Sephiroth. In case he can't use Cloud, he has someone even more powerful. Or vice-versa. Aerith saved Zack to help Cloud by getting rid of his regret.
Love it been waiting a long time for this if you ever live stream I will superchat a thank you
I don't believe it's time travel.
You are gods gift to ff7
Here we go baby! Every time I think "where the fuck is the next one, m8?" it finally gets released!
good length on the video--- but dude this was just a teaser of what we know YOU know--- so please disperse onto us your niche knowledge on this game--- it will be a while until part 2 comes out and trust me---..... Your videos and insight are Absolutely appreciate in these dry times, truly you have fans and I look forward to more releases.. no foot-dipping in the pool ! dive in and we will follow after you!
This was the best so far. ) Where can I find "On the way to smile. Case of Denzel" anime? Been looking everywhere...
Thank you
I have watched your videos intermittently because I just feel like, I take away something different every time.
1:29:25 1000% correct imo and how I immediately felt once I finished the game
Its all coming together.
like a glove, we will see though! thank you for watching!
I thought the unholy army was just the monsters you encounter on the way to Jenova and Sephiroth. Like Skeletal Dragons and Iron Giants.
