Devo Davis yeah dude I've watched season one of true detective at least twice a year since it's release. So Good! I hope they can make season 3 as good as 1 because season 2 I didn't really care for.
Amarina E. I’ve got to agree because I’ve found whenever I read a review or an opinion it can taint my impression, enjoyment, understanding, etc., of what I’m watching. The greatest disappoint in recent memory was Manchester by the Sea. I let myself get caught up in the buzz, so I see it, but by chance AFTER watching many of the other 2017 Oscar movies. To this day I can’t believe Casey won that Oscar. He sucked, the movie sucked. It SUCKED! How the hell did Andrew Garfield not win for Hacksaw Ridge? For that matter how the hell did Moonlight beat Hacksaw Ridge? Sorry off on a tangent...😃
ya im doing this thing where you have no expectations for a movie, then once you get out it just happens to be an amazing movie! im telling ya ive appreciated so much now that i have been doing this
That's why I love short teaser Trailers instead of this bullshit that we get now, Extended 3+ minute trailers that pretty much give away the entire plot, yes I'm looking at you DC Universe and Marvel. Superhero movies are the ones guilty of that the most.
Big time, trailers can ruin a film. The less you know, the better, and preferably nothing. The element of surprise is half the joy of watching a story unfold.
McConaughey is so brilliant with words and story telling… it’s hands down why his reading of his autobiography is one of the best listens ever. Mind blowing to see someone that good at their craft aligned with their path
The lead singer from Cooder Graw (Matt Martindale) & McConaughey were best buds in College. They're Both: 😐 TRUE to Their Craft! 😑 Ain't "Mind Blowin'!" if you're from Texas!!
Jeff Bridges is like a warm blanket on a cold winter's night, so soothing, so familiar. I just want him to wrap me up in his arms and hug me. God, I love this man!
I lived my whole life in total anticipation for the exact moment where Matthew McConaughey and Jeff Bridges bro five and to fist lock and I have to be honest.... I can die feeling Alright Alright Alright.
This is one of the best ones. For some reason I learned more about acting in these 31 minutes than I have in the last 40 years as a film fan. I felt like I got a very pure insight into the art. Thank you.
Two of the most handsomest men in the movie industry. Both seem to live their own styles and not what is Hollywood. That’s why I appreciate them as actors. Love both of their craziness.
That moment at 22:19 was so genuinely wholesome how they both got so giddy. You can really tell that they're both cut from the same cloth in how they approach life.
This is a fascinating exchange between these two. McConaughey has this wise, salt of the earth, no nonsense approach but whatever he's gathered from all of it Bridges will blow up any little pretense that exists in it. He's coming at it sideways everytime. McConaughey responds to it, paying attention to everything. I could honestly watch these two for 10 hours.
Bridges just makes the person across from him feel so important so seamlessly... And they love him, they all love him. He's Magic... And not a bad actor either.
I love that first bit of dialogue. Here's how I heard it: Matthew: "Can you tell me about that?" Jeff: "This is a hard part, uh, you know, of uhhh, acting, you know? Let me give it to you as best I can, uh, you know. Certain things have come to light, and uh, ya know, has it ever occurred to you, that uh, instead of uh, you know running around, uh uh, blaming me, given the nature of all this new shit, you know it, it it, this could be a uh, a lot more uh, uh, uh, uh, complex, I mean it's not just, it might not be, just such a simple, uh... you know?"
This is the best conversation!!! Could listen and watch them for hours. Love what those two actors share and HOW they share it. Fabulous!!!!! Thank you guys for sharing:-)
I love both of these actors. I could watch their movies over and over and enjoy it more every time. So much in there you just can't get it in one look. 🐝
Mutual respect is the foundation of all interviews and this format has to be the very best. And I see Matthew developing and broadening his style and choice of parts as Jeff has so eloquently done over the years. It goes without saying that there has to be a movie in the future for these two.
A time to kill, the Lincoln lawyer, interstellar e.t.c. Matthew McConaughey was a sensational actor. Fearless, blown away and jagged edge e.t.c. Jeff bridges was a remarkable actor. Veterans of the trade. 👍👍
Such a legend conversation ! What a actors, there are some of my favorites. They should do a movie together. Look at all their amazing filmography jeff bridges (king fish, the big lebowski, crazy heart, true grit, tron, heaven's gate, starman, tucker, king kong) and Matthew McConaughey (contact, killer Joe, Mud, Interstellar, True detective, Gold, the wolf of wall street, dallas buyers club, paperboy) !!!
Whoever put these two together is an absolute genius.
You are so right. They both so much care free and yet; so diligent at pulling off what ever character they play. Kindred Spirits.
Totally agree, they have such compatible energy like two lifelong friends meeting up again. Whoever looked at them and knew that deserves a raise.
how these two never met or worked together ? D: Respect for giving this opportunity
Before they even spoke, I was like hey they would be great in a movie together
I'm surprised they've never done a film together.....
The whole conversation
Bridges: 'its like life man, you must abide.'
McConaughey 'alright, alright, alright..'
yeah, yeah, yeah
😂
You just gotta keep on abiding man A B I D I N
They listen to each other... THAT is RARE
Oh man, THAT is a masterpiece of concision..bravo
Jeff Bridges played the dude and never fully recovered after that.
The Dude never recovered from Bridges playing him.
he IS the dude! the dude's wardrobe in the movie? actually jeff's clothes. they literally are one in the same. the dude abides.
He's,. the dude!
They burned one on the way over.
I dunno , True Grit was great.
the way matthew sits makes him look like he owns the place
He owns everything he does. I just re-watched True Detective, multiple expletives that series is good. Have you seen Mud? Such a unique film.
Devo Davis yeah dude I've watched season one of true detective at least twice a year since it's release. So Good! I hope they can make season 3 as good as 1 because season 2 I didn't really care for.
I saw the video with no audio and i felt that too
He does own the acting space at the moment. He is the leading man in Hollywood, taken more seriously than DiCaprio.
I think he does 🤔
I agrre with Jeff Bridges, watching a film without knowing anything about it always makes the experience better for me
Amarina E. I’ve got to agree because I’ve found whenever I read a review or an opinion it can taint my impression, enjoyment, understanding, etc., of what I’m watching. Yep. Same with books too. The best thing is to just dive in.
Whenever I hear McConaughey tell a story, I feel like he sits up writing them the night before.
Matt S "the is Chicago John"
Trust me has a Rolodex of anecdotes for every situation.
Matt S 🤣
I think it’s the way his voice runs, it’s like a river, he doesn’t need to really think about the story because it flows so naturally.
I'm stealing this joke, but it perfectly fits your scenario: I'll write, I'll write, I'll write.
For the first time ever McConaughey seems like the little brother in a conversation. I can just tell he really admires and respects Jeff like a father
Jeff B is an older version of Matthew M
Very true.
damn I wish I could be in the room when the camera goes off. that's when the real convo begins
*Higher*
I like the whole cowboy thing going on
How right you are
It's like watching a FATHER and SON bonding!!!! 👌🏼👌🏼💯🏆
The dude's son
McConaughey is so brilliant with words and story telling… it’s hands down why his reading of his autobiography is one of the best listens ever. Mind blowing to see someone that good at their craft aligned with their path
The lead singer from Cooder Graw (Matt Martindale) & McConaughey were best buds in College.
They're Both:
😐 TRUE to Their Craft!

Jeff Bridges is like a warm blanket on a cold winter's night, so soothing, so familiar. I just want him to wrap me up in his arms and hug me. God, I love this man!
I would love to see them together, playing Father and son in a movie
Yeah a Coen Bros. movie. The Coens need to dump Clooney who can't act his way out of a paper bag. Hire McConaughey and Bridges.
Mini Maxi - I agree
AprilPie16 yes!!!!
McConaughey would've been a good fit in Hell or High Water as Chris Pine's role, but Pine was phenomenal in it tho
i agree. good movie. understated yet powerful acting by all (chris, ben foster, jeff bridges). movie needs more recognition
jeff is a mix of my grandfather and the 14 yr old who smokes weed in my class
Ha,.. what an interesting mixture
Wtf kind of teacher lets kids smoke weed in class?
@@jimbob465a super cool teacher
I lived my whole life in total anticipation for the exact moment where Matthew McConaughey and Jeff Bridges bro five and to fist lock and I have to be honest.... I can die feeling Alright Alright Alright.
Without feeling like the good Lord gipped us
Two men with minds way out of my ballpark. It's amazing getting to see these gentlemen as themselves and not characters.
This is one of the best ones. For some reason I learned more about acting in these 31 minutes than I have in the last 40 years as a film fan. I felt like I got a very pure insight into the art. Thank you.
This is probably the best one so far, they make an absurd situation like this feel very natural and relaxed
These are the kinda guys you don’t want to be late for.
Two of the most handsomest men in the movie industry. Both seem to live their own styles and not what is Hollywood. That’s why I appreciate them as actors. Love both of their craziness.
Jeff Bridges 👍🏻
The other not.
@Batman
I respect your opinion but I really like Matthew. He's a really charismatic and inspirating person, also a great character actor.
That moment at 22:19 was so genuinely wholesome how they both got so giddy. You can really tell that they're both cut from the same cloth in how they approach life.
I'm only 6 minutes in but so far this transcript would be 90% gibberish. And I can't look away
Finished the whole thing. Definitely not gibberish but those first 5 minutes were hilarious
Thanks for this comment! I was 3 minutes in and wondering if/when it would start making sense. I shall persevere.
Its a Dada masterpiece
Haha I thought I was alone, too. I'm glad u found this comment thread. :)
Maybe they're just on that different level.
This is like, the most chill interview ever.
You feel like you just wanna roll a joint with these dudes
Variety chose 2 really great actors who had a lot in common to sit down and chat for 15 minutes, good job guys.
one of the most fucking two coolest dudes, I have ever seen. Their ATTITUDE IS LIKE THERE ARE ACHIEVING FUCKING ENLIGHTENMENT
The moment I saw Matthew McConaughey deliver the closing argument monologue in A Time to Kill, I knew he was special.
txmoney he should have gotten an oscar for that scene alone!
This wasn't recommended to me, I searched for this. I had no idea it existed but I searched for it anyway. It's real man!
Jeff is prob one of the few people that actually goes to heaven. That man is kind, honest and has the most serene/contented vibe the world has seen.
The Dude meets Wooderson. It was fate. Who's cooler than these two? Nobody.
Alright, alright, alright... Well, that's just like your opinion, man
You are entering in a world of pain
The two of them should a make cross-over film...Dazed and Lebowskied
Mini Maxi Clint eastwood
Be a lot cooler if they had weed maan
Bridges just makes the person across from him feel so important so seamlessly... And they love him, they all love him. He's Magic... And not a bad actor either.
This exchange was a spiritual experience for me.
hammervasara me too man! ☮️
Oh wow this came up in my feed 7 years later, how fabulous. Wouldn't it be great, if they would be in a film together. As a woman, I approve!
Jeff Bridges is the most humble human being on the planet ❤
Two of the most loving , real people on this planet
I love that first bit of dialogue. Here's how I heard it:
Matthew: "Can you tell me about that?"
Jeff: "This is a hard part, uh, you know, of uhhh, acting, you know? Let me give it to you as best I can, uh, you know. NorthWriter best RUclips comment I've ever read
NorthWriter I'm dying laughing here😭😂
I died had my funeral and came back just to upvote damn youtube comment of the year lol

More like 'let me school you son.'
Gorgeous gorgeous men incredible incredible actors. Jeff Bridges could be in a silent film and I could watch it all day long
Great chemistry between the two.
Two brilliant actors have known for their famous roles and own way say things.. jeff always my fav both of em who doesn't love or admire.
Matthew - a man of confidence and personal power!
That foot grab tho
Jeff I know McConaughey is HOT af but @ 3:01 really LOL
because he totally spoiled the ending of his movie.
Lol,I was like what is this dude doing
Literally trying to unscrew it xD
Matthew was like “wait a minute, I’ve never felt this awkward before, stay cool stay cool alright alright alright”
I always loved Jeff Bridges voice idk why 💀 its like magic mixed with cheerios on a sunny day
They are so alike!!! Perfect match
I've been dead set against the idea of a Big Lebowski sequel...until now! McConaughey is soooooo The Dude's son! Someone make this happen!!!!
Julie Ann Moore is his mom .
The Dude and mini-dude.
Southern hospitality
So much charisma in this room.
They can not find a better pair of actors than these two !!
I just saw "True Grit," many years later. What a treat...
I don't know why I love this conversation so much! 😄😂
Love these two! Matt McConaughey has been my crush for years! And Jeff Bridges is such a cool actor!
He's very very good looking
McConaughey is a great story teller.
Jeff Bridges is the coolest, nicest guy on the planet and in my humble opinion the best actor going.
i love when Jeff grabs his leg
He can grab my leg anytime👍
These 2are good together love both of thenx
I like how after he grabs his foot at 3:00, Matthew brings his foot down... yes he puts it back quickly after but was just funny to me.
My favorite talk so far. Cant believe these two haven't hung out before nor been in a movie together as they jibe so well.
Jeff Bridges complaining about Matt giving spoilers about Hell or high water, what a man.
Lucas Vieira Galvão yea he shouldn't have told people thay ben foster died in the end
Two cool dudes..the original and the new generation ❤❤❤
They are having so much fun.
I grew up watching "SEA HUNT" with Bridges' dad, Lloyd Bridges...and him in "AIRPLANE" is CLASSIC!
“Seems like I chose the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.”
Just cool as can be, both of them.
Each scene of "The Big Lebowski" is like candy, dear Jeff. Thank you. 💜
OMG I love this Actor on actor, brilliant!!
I would marry Jeff Bridges in a heartbeat, so charasmatic and I love his heart &art 🌺
Been a fan of both since their beginning vs❤❤
Two of my favourite people ever talking. What's not to like.
Jeff Bridges might just be the coolest person ever to live
andrew allan thanks man!
McConaughey's laugh gets me everytime.
Jeff Bridges telling Matthew McConaughey one of his stories about Kevin Bacon. Good stuff.
McConaughey is like a young bridges
The amount of chill in this room is off the charts.
I wanna see the two actors work together in the near future.
WOW.. just WOW is all I can say about these two
Damn, this is two cool dudes! Awesome to get this kind of look into their work and how they think about it...
THE Dude and another cool dude. ;) Great interview all around.
Mac is so smooth with men or woman he could charm the birds out of the trees, and its all genuine, thats why it works!
Jeff's laugh is both soothing and terrifying at the same time.
I love how interested in acting Matthew McConaughey is its so inspiring
I need jeff bridges on audio in a quiet tone saying "just relax man" would be the best destresser in the world
Matthew is without a doubt the coolest human being in the world.
M.M had his Big Lebowski moment as " The Beach Bum". That is a cross over, we all want to see. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Wow, they are so adorable...I feel like I am watching a father and his son. Great pairing Variety!
Two of the greatest and most favorite actors of all time!
Could easily pass for father and son…two brilliant actors
Ideal pairing
Watching this just makes me happy. What a pair of gems these guys are.
Jeff sounds like he always has peanut butter stuck on the roof of his mouth.
These things happen, man.
@Monkee Media negative ghost rider
Haha, that is the best description of his speech. He *always* sounds like that.
🤣
He's made a great living from that voice. 👍
I love Jeff Bridges! Thank you for this. Also loved his story about the horses.

Unbelievable pairing.
It's looks like they shared a joint before filming this interview which makes it that much more fun
my two faves
Best Interview ever
