Can Colin farrell just interview everyone from now on. The most nuanced and human questions asked with elegance and eloquence
Oh my God, yes yes yes...
Put perfectly !
Yes! Gets annoying when people keep saying he's on drugs just cos he's passionate and can sometimes talk very fast. He's so intelligent and charming and genuinely interested in people and life etc
I felt he talked too much - he overcomplicates his speech by thinking while talking - just an opinion
As a side note, I find it interesting how talkative Colin farrell is. In interviews he often comes across as shy but here he talked a lot. Hugh is a great listener.
Hipster B dude is buzzing on speed.
talking to an interviewer for a show and talking to another actor are two different things.
@@orangewarm1 I agree, but they're still under the spotlight. Perhaps there's the added element of this being about their craft and not their personal lives.
Thought the same! Great comment!
@@Esi153 He barely even let Hugh talk.
Never thought I'd say this but, I like Hugh Grant "us actors are in danger of disappearing up our own arses" lol brilliantly blunt and truthful
I know all the praises are for Colin, and hes very likeable for sure, but I always love how self deprecating and funny, and surprisingly humble, Hugh Grant is, he lets Colin talk most of the interview
I ADORE Hugh Grant's British sense of humor... priceless.
I love how warm, articulate, eloquent & engaging Colin is. I'm happy to listen to him talk about anything.
he's so charming it's beautiful.
June Asiimwe couldn't agree with you more.
June Asiimwe I like how humble he is about his stupid move with the hooker years ago. He brought it up on the set of Notting Hill when his character made a hooker reference to Julia Roberts ("We'll have you back on the street in no time") and asked if it was a good idea. Everyone thought he was referring to her being in Pretty Woman! Then when he was very involved in the "News Of The World" scandal, (the ones who hacked into a dead girl's cell phone and hurt her family) he took the stand and was asked if he was worried about his involvement tarnishing his good name, he said "I don't think I had anything to worry about there. I"m the one who got caught with a hooker" or something like that! I hate that he did that in the first place but owning up to it was the right thing to do.
I totally agree!
smalla ss Eponine ---> himself?
Eponine is a dude's name to you?!
I really appreciate the way these two converse with each other compared to others that I've seen. It's not just "Let's talk about your latest film that I watched for this interview." They really talk about some great, human things. I also think this is a good pairing, as they both seem to have mellowed with age.
They don't always watch the movies, Jeremy Irons didn't watch Carol when he did the interview with Cate Blanchett
which other ones did you like?
NorthWriter j
NorthWriter I find that the brits & Irish 🍀 are just better storytellers.
Colin Farrell has certainly mellowed with age, but I'd say Hugh Grant, to his credit, has pretty much maintained the exact same level of mellowness for his entire career.
Hugh Grant seemed to downplay his roles in romantic comedies. They are the first feel good movies I reach for... we need more. Thank you for blessing our lives with good movies.
My favorite romantic movie is Notting Hill🌹
Brenda Birrell I don’t think he really likes his acting. He is embarrassed about himself. We all love him but we have pictures of ourselves that others do not see.
He was brilliant in 4 weddings , a movie I am very fond of
It’s Hugh’s wit and charm that makes those romcoms so memorable. Films such as Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral wouldn’t have been as successful without him.
@@aslan9334 Bridget Jones is my fav!!!
I LOVE how passionate Colin was about Hugh's material and experiences! It's so disarming and friendly, and he very clearly was intimately familiar with Hugh's material, how respectful and appreciative he is to Hugh. Really wonderful interaction in this, Hugh is wonderful, and Colin really contributed to making this a lovely and warm interaction among peers.
Trepanation21 Absolutely
I'm looking at the comments and there is not enough love here for Hugh :(
irisnsc I know. I'm here for Hugh 🙂 one of my favourite actors. didn't know Colin was so popular lol
I love hugh
Love Hugh Grant!!!
I don't know about other people but he's one of my favorite actors i want to watch a movie because he's in it
Still obsessed with HUGH GRANT in Notting Hill 21 years later.
Embarrassing but true...❤
This is better than all those talk shows where the host asks stupid questions and play dumb games. Here we actually get to know something and they are being genuine.
right you are ! i cannot stand most talk show hosts, and they are lousy listeners most of them... this is beyond
Hugh Grant is very interesting. I could listen to him for ages.
Charming Hugh Grant ❤
One of My fave actor of all time
I really like Hugh Grant's question to Colin. They touch on the fact that acting is a job and while they want to be challenged in roles, they know their job is to entertain. It's nice to see an interview with actors who don't take themselves or acting too seriously.
Amen
Hugh Grant is very charming as always, but very underrated as an actor.
I know they're all serious, but their voices are soooo hot. I mean, damn. That irish accent... that posh english accent.
posh? what do you mean? is it a place?
posh as in upper class, slightly snooty.
@@EricJeanMawrie it’s called..The Queens English 🎩
The kings
Colin has really matured intellectually. Nice.
@The Amos Tree No.
@Amos Tree he doesn’t follow his own lessons, guy can even kick a Benzo addiction without taking a shortcut with risky Russian surgery
Too much...lol
He's always been Intelligent even when He was drinking. His wit has never failed to come across
Colin Farrell needs to have his own chat show...
He's very deep... sees things others don't see. He is an Empath.
Hugh Grant is too cool for school.
Very classy interview between two underrated actors
I want to see those two together in a film
@@hh-pb8rz the gentleman
These two are a perfect conversational match, they are both intellectually gifted, and as leading men very charming, yet they are maturing nicely. Love Hugh.
I just love Hugh Grant! He really deserves more and he is underrated.
He is not underrated... There he is taking our attention.
They are both brilliant actors.
He makes it look so easy. Like it's less work or he's less talented. No. He's brilliant in whatever he's done.
@@AnaVerona_ awards wise he is
These two completely forgot that they were being filmed during this conversation. They absolutely enjoyed each other's company - and so did we, watching and listening to them!
colin in this interview is beautiful intelligent and charismatic. wow
I like Colin more now. Hugh is just delightful.
An Englishman and an Irishman walk into in a bar...
Five star comment! You could really track the difference in the internal cultural landscape of these two actors. Both are excellent actors but simple wired up so differently! Viva la difference!
This is a great pairing
God, Colin can talk 🤣 Hugh seemed exhausted trying to get a word in!
You can tell that Colin has had therapy. & has gone deep into self introspection. I love hearing an enlightened yet humble person speak ♡
He's always been like this when when he was drinking and struggling with addiction. It's called Irish wit
@@CathyD1976 nah, he has definitely become more verbose and more thoughtful
It may be surprising, but a lot of actors are like that - gotta know yourself before you can really know a character 🎉x
And Hugh is the classic British cunt of a man who thinks therapy is bullshit...
Guess who's better in bed (and life) : COLIN.
Would I kill to be a fly on the wall for a therapy session with Colin Farrell!
Colin Farrell easily top 5 best actors of last 30 years & under appreciated
hugh grant's impression of richard wilson is BANG on.
oh man, Colin Farrell can speak! he's so deep and keeps asking and answering his own questions while Hugh is like: 'yeah, yeah, no, yeah...' :D still enjoyable though
Easily the best of these formats I've seen. Colin and Hugh have great respect for each other but are still able to sound genuine and interested. The whole session is fascinating. More please!
Hugh Grant seems like the kind of guy you'd hear say "But i'm so nice to be around, why don't they like me?" with the biggest smile on his face and with no hint whatsoever of narcissism, like he's just stating a fact that he and everybody knows
i have always had a deep appreciation for colin Farell
I love watching this after watching The Gentlemen. Both of these amazing actors crushed in it. Hugh as a vile character is officially one of my favorite characters in any film. He has far more talent then just Nottinghill Hugh. Plus Colin as the Coach is the best.
I love these two together. The conversation is easy and unforced and I feel as though I learned a lot about them as actors. Hugh Grant is probably one of the most underrated actors of his generation; his comedic timing is excellent and Colin is always good to watch.
Colin Farrell is brilliant. So well spoken, so
sharp.
The beauty of this interaction is because Colin is taking it all very seriously, and Hugh chooses to take it far less seriously, which finds a unique middle ground.
Wow, I'm really impressed with Colin Farrell's deep, nearly philosophical thoughts on acting and filming! Did not expect that..
Hugh's Richard Wilson's impression is the business.
I love that when Colin talks movies he can talk all day. He loves his craft and is a fan of others.
Hugh Grant, charming, regal and graceful and yet so humble, down to earth, and real. Loved the interaction between the two.
I think Hugh would make a fantastic therapist. One instantly trusts him and his eyes during listening are those of a very caring psychoanalyst. Sometimes there’s a bit of suspicion but otherwise there’s something so very calming about him.
Hugh Grant - my cuppa tea!!
Colin is a tremendous ambassador for us 🇮🇪
Most of our celebrities are TG
Definitely . So many great Irish actors - Cillian Murphy, Saoirse Ronan, the Gleesons, Paul Mescal, Jessie Buckley, Andrew Scott, Jamie Dornan, Aidan Turner, Michael Fassbender etc etc
I think Hugh is almost surprised by how incredibly eloquent and intelligent Colin is. His turn of phrase and intensity is breathtaking.
Never realised what a student of film Colin was. A new found respect for the man
What an amazing conversation. Colin is lovely, I love his delivery and tone of voice
OMG the accents are giving me life.
There’s something about Hugh Grant, he’s on a journey and smart with it
I enjoyed it more then any other "Actor on Actor" episode but there were so many moments where I felt like saying "Colin, for fox's sake man just shut up for a moment and let the man speak!!!"
He's slightly hypo manic....he has alot of intelligent ...things to say. He has to reign that in. But it's never gibberish banter. I think sometimes it's over most people's heads. I get it. I get him totally.
These Actors on Actors videos are fantastic.
I really like Colin Farrell, and yes he’s really talkative in this interview. He’s really human. But god damn I love Hugh Grant, he’s a freaking superstar in my world. Colin and Hugh should do this talk on a stage in front of an audience. Really enjoyable. The film industry wouldn’t be the same without these two amazing guys.
I don't believe Hugh's Richard Wilson impression!!! Amazing.
Hugh is frickn awesome and so honest. Love how he’s so in tune with real people. His comment about entertaining and not just doing roles for your own ego that no one will see. He’s spot on.
Hugh can be very cranky sometimes though. Just sayin’
@@melaniejackson-cracchiolo356 I also like that about him.
Colin's laugh is sooo lovely!
I fee like Colin was so excited to talk to Hugh, and nervous, that he took the role of interviewer to see how someone, he has admired for years, truly feels.
I can't believe how erudite and intelligent Colin Farrell is. We all know Hugh comes across as being bright, but mind has been blown with Colin. Hugh's a great asker of questions, and also a great listener. He'd make a great interviewer.
He is self educated
Colin is brilliant and passionate. One can feel his kindness and genuine humanity. I sense that Hugh Grant is also impressed !
Now that Poor Things has won a GG ❤the first 5 min of this interview makes a lot of sense. The way Colin Farrell proudly talks about the Lobster and the genuine interest Hugh Grant has about this guy.... Giorgos. Great conversation all the way through.
I have to say it: In Bruges is probably the best (dark) comedy ever made.
The same team that made in bruges are making a new movie!
Bruges was a great movie.
I knew Colin wouldn't disappoint. I really enjoy both of these guys in interview.
colin is love colin is life
This is indeed a great pairing and great convo and they are both so charming and interesting to listen to. Colin is always so elegant and sincere and you can see he has such a love and understanding of film.
he asks amazing questions too
They’re both so engaging and seem like lovely people.
I have a new found respect for these guys watching this
collin farrell is amazing
26:27 made me crack up laughing. He's a pretty good comedic actor too!
This is why he chooses the films he does..thier extremely thought provoking.
Which can be boring to some if thier looking for typical. He's anything but typical
He's f great
years back then I first saw Colin with Tom Cruise and was shocked even when I knew he was great ..now as a grown up woman I see he is far better than being great..he seem so gentle and sincere..so direct..so natural....
We should all strive to be as attentive and engaged as Colin Farrell, always. A perfect measure of a man.
Colin has such a penetrating and mesmerizing gaze,I think he doesn’t appreciate enough in the movie industry
Collin is so very articulate and being Irish doesn’t hurt😉💚☘️ Hugh’s not too shabby either🥰
Colin Farrell......wow. impressive.
I love Hugh Grant so much
I love both Colin and Hugh, most definitely. ☺️🌹👏🏽
I actually enjoyed listening to Colin. He seems to have gained depth as opposed to his "bad boy" days that I used to hear about. I watched this for Hugh, and he was fine, but was nicely surprised by Mr. Farrell. He exhibited humility and intelligence that was also surprising.
I could listen to Colin speak all day! And Hugh also. Such gorgeous accents and interesting things to say
i was surprised by the depth of this interview
Surprisingly good together, great match
Jayzus... Take a fekkin' breath there Colin....ffs!!!!! Poor Hugh getting ambushed by Irish verbiage!! Lmfao
Love Hugh Grant. He should do more again. Hope for good storybooks for him.
Came for Colin Farrell but stayed for the dynamics of the conversation. Well done gents.
Colin is introspective and very very expressive! Intrigued. Always loved him and the films he chose..
It never ceases to amaze me that two actors with such ability and vast experience still get nervous at a table read. It makes me feel more at ease with my own anxiety of doing them.
I am quite impressed with Colin's eloquence; a pleasure to listen to him.
Loved how Hugh Grant brought up the line from the Harold Pinter play- The Dumb Waiter and the line I got to go to Sidcup to get my booze- I'm from Kent and live near Sidcup :-)
Colin’s vocabulary is top tier 👁️
That was oddly way more fascinating to listen to than I’d anticipated. Farrell is as quick and hectic in his processes I you would expect, but far more winning and sensitive than I was prepared for. Grant is as intelligent and charming as expected, but much more down to Earth and relaxed than I’d expected. He’s also a great mimic! That Richard Wilson impression was quite brilliant. I’m stunned that Farrell hasn’t heard of Wilson! In fact, “I don’t believe it.”
Such a fresh breeze: Great Actors not blowing smoke up eachother's arses, for 25 minutes, showing eachother with ever increasing praise. Lovely self-deprecating English/Irish Actors ♥️♥️♥️
Hugh Grant . My dream man since four wedding snd one funeral. I live these guy . He looks so good still 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
What an inspiring conversation, both asking the right questions, respectful, enthusiastic and delightfully articulate. Grant seems to be more of an interviewer, and Farrel is very keen to answer his questions (even star actors tend to be a bit self-conscious with respected older colleagues); all in all great chemistry.
Both are great actors. All my love and admiration.
two of my favorites...together...
Colin Farrell ... Really a pleasant surprise. Highly articulate and self-aware.
colin never failed to impress everytime love you...kudos to hugh as well..
Ugh these two. My favorites!!!
Colin Farrell's Lynx joke went right over Hugh Grant's head!!!
The concept for the show is brilliant and yes, Colin definitely is guilty of interrupting Hugh in his train of thought, but I find it very impressive how articulate and eloquent his ‘monologues’ were. Thank you for the upload.
This is the best one so far! I never get tired of these two -Both brilliant actors, and very genuin :)
I knew Colin Farrell knows how to share his thoughts and feelings in a captivating way, but omg. This conversation here, that’s another level... 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 both great actors and great talkers:)
The best thing about these two is how they've pretty much swapped personas from their heyday: Hugh was the demure-ish gentleman of the 90s, and Colin was the rebellious bad boy of the 00s. Now it's basically the opposite! 💖💖💖
