Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton have shared the screen several times, in comedies like “The Other Guys” or dramas such as Quentin Tarantino’s “Jackie Brown.” Jackson is reunited with Tarantino for “The Hateful Eight,” in which he plays a bounty hunter in post-Civil War Wyoming. Keaton leads an impressive ensemble in “Spotlight,” Tom McCarthy’s drama about Boston Globe reporters who broke the story of the Catholic Church’s cover-up of child molestation by priests. - Развлечения
I love this pairing. These two are acting legends!!
Yeah, that is true and facts are separate
Always have had a crush on Keaton. Smart, funny and deep. He’s aging excellently.
michael keaton is under-appreciated
Are you serious? He's batman
Multiplicity is a deeply underrated movie and I loved it so much. It must have been hell to make on Keaton's side.
yeah, his triple simultaneous performances were seamless.
I like pizza! IIIIIIIIIIIIIII like it!🤣
one of my favorite comedies ever.
I remember seeing that in the theater back in the day and the audience was howling…
I love that movie
Nice to see Michael Keaton as a relevant actor again.
I hate the term "relevant" since when is an actor not relevant? They're doing roles then theyre relevant to whoever wants to go watch their work, just because you don't find them relevant doesn't mean they aren't its a rather meaningless phrase, what you mean is he's back in the spotlight and youre noticing him that doesn't mean he hasn't been relevant, he's still been working, just cos its not Hollywood blockbusters isn't a gauge of "relevance"
Bezza Derbane to be honest in Hollywood the word “relevant” does apply when it comes to when a star was at some point the most talked about or doing major roles. I don’t think the post was made to be offensive.
@@prisonmike3605 Hollywood films are eternally boring tho
Micah Greeson that’s subjective...
@@bezzaderbane9890 shut up, it's not that hard to understand what the OP was saying. Stop acting obtuse.
Just saw Michael Keaton in Spider Man Homecoming and he was SUPERB!!
He is always great
Just saw Lita Keatons posted comment on RUclips and she was SUPERB!
Had the great pleasure to work with Mr Keaton on a movie and he's one of the down to earth cool guys that makes movie making so enjoyable. Now I just got to work with Samuel L lol
Very cool 👍
Please tell the story would love to read it 🙏😁
It's always good to nurture your ego.
@@RobertMBGH I love that name
That’s awesome. What movie was it and what did you do?
Tarantino should do another film with Keaton.
AND George Clooney AND Bruce Willis
Fuck Bruce Willis. His last good film was Die Hard, and the last 5 movies I saw him in, he totally phoned it in.
MS What was the first one?
OMGThatsArmani Keaton was in Jackie Brown.
What about Willis's role in Pulp Fiction That was a solid performance.
Michael Keaton, one of my favourite actors of all time. Nice pairing on the interview!
Samuel L.:classic
Michael Keaton:the greatest Batman of all time
Seems like Samuel L. Jackson has been in EVERY movie made in Hollywood for the last twenty years.
+Sauron Merciful Yea that's a good one.
+Grandpa the Grey Seriously. The other day I was watching Goodfellas for the first time, a movie made in 1995 about italian mobsters, and during middle of the movie shows up out of no where!! Also the guy looks like he barely ages!!
OhMyBooda
You're right! I forgot about his minor roll in Goodfellas. He played a character named... Stacks Edwards. Jesus... Jackson hasn't aged a day since 1990!!
+OhMyBooda 1990 u dumbass
OhMyBooda came out in 1990. You're probably thinking of Casino, in 1995. Sam Jackson was in Goodfellas, 1990.
Actors on Actors: both are talking about Quentin
One of my all time favorite actors: Michael Keaton 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I almost forget that they were in Jackie Brown together.
That was Robert De Niro, not Michael Keaton..
***** I guess I must have forgotten; I don't remember when he was in it.
Brian Griffin And Robocop
they were in the other guys too
he played one of the cops on Jackie's case
michael keaton is one of the greatest actor of all time.I love him in batman, birdman and recently spotlight.
Keaton is 3 years younger than Jackson, it's crazy...Sam Jackson is 67 years old...pretty sure he's gonna be the next Morgan Freeman.
Sam made better movies tho
@@troubleman8430 when your in every movie i guess you get some good ones haha keaton should have had more but he disappeared for awhile. sam is pretty much the same character in every film just wearing a diff costume
@@CamoShirt Keaton left Hollywood to pursue his home and family life. He had the dough to do it so he did.
Sam has done so many films lately where he is just cashing in (Barely Lethal, Kite, XXX, Cell so on) but he has those little diamonds like Django, Hateful Eight, The Banker, Kingsman somewhat Nick Fury (but that role has definitely been catered toward Sam) where he plays legitimate characters.
Freeman was born 67🤫
Michael Keaton Batman was the best in my opinion.
I won't even dispute that! 👌. After batman and batman returns. It's all about who played the Joker better.
@Vino I haven't seen all bales installments but both leger and bale. It was modernised but darker but the roles they made it there own. The movies of in-between. Uma Thurman was good as poison ivy all I remember from the ones after keatons.
No I'm batman
I don't know Batman (too short, terrible mobility), but he's the only Bruce Wayne I believe is crazy enough to dress like a bat and fight crime every night.
Bale is the best and a close second is Keaton.
i love michael keaton rebirth after birdman
Both these men 70+ and still play roles of a mids to low 50s man.
Michael Keaton is one of the best actors ever imo. His range is insane. Sam is awesome, but Keaton is on a different level.
Ozzy nah I don’t think it’s that far apart
Keaton is on that DiCaprio and Depp level.
Keaton is easily one of the greatest. Birdman was such a wild ride
Both actors have great range. Both done comedy, drama, suspense, many genres. More detail explanation on why Michael is on a "different level" than Samuel would be appreciated. Keep in mind, I am a fan of BOTH, so I see them both at same level.
I love Keaton but you gotta watch Unbreakable and more earlier Sam roles, he gets typecasted as himself and alot of the times his characters don’t get a lot outside of “screaming black dude” but when he does he kills that shit. Unbreakable is probably his most out of type and he KILLS that shit.
GOD DAMIT!!!! now i have to watch Jackie Brown for the 100th time......jeez.
I can watch these actors on actors interviews all Day !
I know I'm late but these are 2 of my favorite actors period.
Keaton always looks away when thinking and looks at Jackson when he has finished the line of thought and always looks at him in the eye when Jackson is talking
sam jackson and tarantino were made for eachother. I always like him but when he's in a tarantino movie he goes to another level
Man Keaton is on top of his game at the moment. Birdman and Spotlight both blew me away. Jackson awesome as always...
Can't believe Samuel is actually 69. He certainly doesn't look it.
I love him. But he's starting to look it. When he was 60 he looked 37.
That's because Sam shaves his head. If he grew out his hair you'd see his gray hair and horseshoe bald spot.
@@joemckim1183 That's not the point ! The. Point is even looking at his face and skin he still looks 50 years old he's extremely healthy and it shows in his appearance !
What? No freaking way! Whoa, great genetics, he looks like he's in his 40s-50s.
He looked amazing for 69 in captain marvel!! 😂😂😉
this is criminally unseen, such a cool and collected conversation. I loved watching this, just two dudes chatting about great careers.
I love that a Jedi Master is sitting opposite Batman while wearing a polo shirt the same colour as his Lightsaber.
Samuel Jackson in Quentin Tarantino -movies is just... scary, smart, funny and out of control, and terrifyingly enjoyable to watch.
Keaton is so beetlejuice in real life just a fiery dude
This is the first Variety I watched all the way through without skipping
Loved this. Keaton was terrific in Spotlight, I won't be surprised if he gets nominated again. And Sam Jackson was his usual crazy self in The Hateful Eight.
+nama chakraborthy H8ful 8 was my fav movie this year and i saw everything this year even bad shit like Pixels and yes i am a BIG star wars fan.
nama chakraborthy I thought Jackson was phenomenal in “Hateful Eight,” he definitely deserved an Oscar nomination.
These interviews are genuinely lovely, it's such a bloody rare thing these days, cool stuff.
What a lovely conversation
JACKIE BROWN FOREVER❤
i have been binge watching these videos. I just can't get enough!!!
I was watching a different actor on actor video. Then I saw this video and got excited and clicked on it. I immediately liked this video. Michael Keaton & Samuel L. Jackson are awesome!!!
Love both these actors. 2 legends 😊👏
2 of my favorite actors! Happy to say i met Michael Keaton & shook his hand at a pizza shop i worked at in pittsburgh. Nice guy, tipped us a $10 for 2 slices👍🏻
Damn... These two would be great in a gritty cop drama!
Really love this, Samuel. i love the "the Cold Character" moment. I can relate from rehearsal to set change, thank you love
OMG YES LONG KISS GOOD NIGHT REFERENCE, Samuel; epic scene. Gina i miss you on the big screen, and shout out to Micheal for reference to Boston's Coldest month, feburary
Ashley Lattimore I've watched Long Kiss Goodnight so many times. Love Jackson in that. Such a good movie and the female lead was really amazing too.
Long Kiss Goodnight RULES!!
@@missycoop4312 oh my god that movie is great Gina was awesome.
Lawrence Fishburn really does an incredible impression of Samuel L Jackson.
Google Lawrence Fishburn almost fights Dipset in Airport
Two of my favorite actors in the business. I had a great time watching Samuel L Jackson masterclass. I'd love it if Michael Keaton did a Master Class
Enjoyed that. Thank you.
Wouldnt it be great to cast these 2 great actors together as the bad guys? Epic
2 GREAT ACTORS. 2 OF MY FAVORITES
I love love love Michael Keaton and Sam Jackson. Watching these two talk is pretty damn cool.
Two legends! A fun interview
Damn, I could listen to this 2 talk for hours.
Love seeing these guys together. This is awesome as these two are both legendary and ame ing actors. We need to see them in a movie together for real. There is great chemistry between them even in this interview. Love these guys!!!
they were in jackie brown together
I randomly thought of the movie Birdman, which I loved, and it led me to a half dozen Michael Keaton interviews. But this one, is by far the best. Just hearing them talk, riff back and forth, it's amazing!
loved both their performances! both great movies
These two are Hollywood royalty. Amazing! So great to see. ☺️♥️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love these interviews!
If I saw Samuel l Jackson, I would be like “aye yo Afro!” he doesn’t get enough credit for that
night k facts
I love that fucking show. Sucks they never continued it to more seasons. 😒
SHAO&V.V: REACTS..... what show is that?
Dennis Leavitt AFRO SAMURAI!!!!!!!
Afro Samurai!!
I've seen Spotlight twice now. Incredible gripping film. Hope it wins Best Picture.
BBReviewsRIn and it did win ! I absolutely love it. I actually just bought it on bluray
Samuel is so comfortable in his skin. I ❤it!
I like both of these actors, and these 'Actor on Actor' spots are THE best ever- you never get questions like these from an interviewer (THANK YOU @Variety!!!) but I can't even get through it with Keaton looking off into the distance. I'll try and come back to it and just listen to it playing on another tab, because I can't follow the convo with Keaton's wild-hair stare. Thank you so much nonetheless Variety.
I like these Variety interviews when the two people actually who each other and have worked together in the past. Much deeper.
How did they contain this level of Awesomeness in one room with two great actors I'm surprised the room didn't f****** explode
Ay Variety. This series is fire.
I love both these actors. Would be great to see them in a Film together again.
If you watch Keaton in anything, you know he is always present, always surprising and always listening carefully to other actors on screen. Glad y'all just figured out he was a genius. The role does not define him, he always the role.
Michael Keaton has always had great skills and talent as an actor would be nice to start seeing him in a lot more movies.
Two living legends
Super pimp! Thank you to everyone involved in making this a reality!
This was a hell of an interview.
Thank you Micheal, love the "Drilling down" talk and love you
Fantastic actors ! So cool love Samuel.
Michael killed Samuel in Jackie Brown lol
+Gymeny Hyde Although he didn't kill Sam, they're fates are the same in "The Other Guys."
+So Jin Choi lol you're so right lol
Best Tarantino movie, ever
I like both in jb
"Bruce Wayne..."
"Master Windu...."
*shakes hands*
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Nick Fury
Nick Fury*
Adrian Toomes...
Ernesto87 *mace windu
Dayum beat me to the punch.
Two great actors.
About Samuel L.Jackson, I’m a big fan of him , since I’ve seen Pulp Fictions, and since he’s Nick Fury in the Marvel worlds absolutely adore him,
But just not to long ago I just learned that he’s 71 years old ?........... Damn show me one person who don’t know him and look at a picture of him and say that he’s 71 ? Nobody would guess that I normally am good with guessing ages but for him I would have say in the mid maybe high 50’s i wouldn’t even give him 60, don’t know what he does !?, but keep doing it man , and don’t stop making fabulous movies. 👍👍👍👍
I love both guys. Legends!
Some of the most gifted actors seem like they are the most comfortable talking about themselves.
Michael Keaton is awesome.Forget his movies. When he does interviews we see how awesome he is.I miss him on Letterman .
Sorry y’all, but Michael Keaton in pink and grey is just 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍😍
Jackie Brown, The Other Guys and Robocop - In case you were wondering where these two icons have been seen together.
They weren't seen together in Robocop Jackson's character wasn't involved in the main plot.
In my head I was thinking, when the hell were they in Robocop... They must have been extras or something... Before their time... Ohhhhh, I pushed that remarks out of my mind. That fucking film.
Lol, all those TLC references in “the other guys,” was soooo randomly funny!!
I completely forgot about the RoboCop remake.
"Do you think *swallows* that *swallows* there's a certain point *swallows* when..."
Loved Spotlight. Possibly my favorite movie.
I was tryng to come up with some smart quip or a story about how these 2 actors inspire me, but no anecdote is required, they just are. 2 gentleman that i admire greatly.
Mr. Jackson is so cool. Even Batman can't look him in the eyes...
Two great actors
Love these actors. Some of the best in history of the biz.
Brilliant team up
Greatness in one room
So great !
I love both these guys
I always wanted these two to do a buddy cop movie. Or some kind of awesome sci-fi.
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VARIETY! And this is my 1st one, takes interviews to a whole new level & keeps u intrigued. Can't wait to dive into more. 😀😍
Elisa Taylor look at the one with viola Davis and tom hanks.
Will do!
I still remember when word dropped that Keaton was going to be Batman, my friends laughed, "No way!" But I was stoked. Coincidentally, I was also the only one of my friends who saw "Sober" (at that time).
Still the best Batman EVER !!
Damn right!!
Uhhh, much better than Affleck, or Kilmer..... Bale..... uhhh not so much.
Him & Bale are my favorites
Affleck took that throne. Keaton is now 2nd.
@@ryanmelton3679 Only in the fight scenes. Keaton is back again so we shall see.
Samuel L. Jackson is wearing the FUCK out of the polo.
Great pairing.
Ahaha it is so funny because they are both so expressive, they have such distinct speech and gesture patterns :) Great duo, I want that in film.
2 Legends
Nice interview.
I forgot Keaton and SLJ were co stars together in “Jackie Brown” I love that film
