Love the idea with this channel 52 new things. And i totally agree that youre Always a beginner. Even if You train a lifetime. There is Always something new to learn.
I'm a second degree black belt in SF Bay Area and also train BJJ for ground defense. I like the combo and agree that the point sport sparring emphasis in Karate has harmed its effectiveness for self defense. I emphasis free style (jiyu kumite).
agreed point sport sparring emphasis in Karate has harmed its effectiveness for self-defense that one f the reasons why many other MA look down n Karate
@@RekonizeOfficial I understood and I was agreeing. My point is that point sparring is not traditional Karate so no need to defend it. Free style is much more realistic.
great videos! how bout different styles for next season? like muay buran, savate, russian systema, mongolian wrestling, sumo, etc? more diverse so to speak. thanks!

@@RekonizeOfficial Point sparring is for competition and less than a 100 years old. It is not part of traditional Karate so we don't do it.
Bob Minihan I believe you misunderstood what I wrote bits it’s ok 👍
