    Literally a pioneer. One of the GOATs. Mr. “It ain’t easy” himself. He doesn’t wrap anyone that isn’t a fighter under his wing these days.
    An honor is an understatement.

    That wrap is legal because the tape was one inch below the knuckle, the gauze at the end were still exposed, the finished product of wrapping for a boxer will always look bigger than the product of wrapping for a MMA fighter because of the padding used to protect the knuckles though it's always best to check with the state one is competing in before the hand wrapping process begins for guidelines.

    I’ve heard it’s better to go from the top of the hand to the bottom of the hand when going between the knuckles because when you make a fist it tightens instead of going from the bottom of the hand to the top and it not tightening when you make a fist but regardless if I’m right or wrong, it would be such an honor to have your hands wrapped by Freddie Roach

  • @WeeManSham
    @WeeManSham 12 лет назад

    wrap the gauze round your own hand with fingers spread up to 12 to 16 times.this gives you the padding

  • @mersanary
    @mersanary 13 лет назад

    @loss7y you can use the actuall Gauze that you wrap your hands in to do that.. you just have to make padding yourself ahead of time which is very useful when your wrapping hands. if your ready ahead of time then thats less time to wrap your hands and more time to train.

  • @mersanary
    @mersanary 13 лет назад

    @mersanary you can use regular gauze that you use to wrap your hands with. Use the Gauze to measure your hand size then go back and forward and side to side making a thick layer of knuckle pad. after that you should make as many as you can before hand that way you dont have to do it later. understand. Watch Jacob "stitch" Duran to learn how to do padding for mma and boxing. he's the best and thats how i wrap my hands now. it feels great and really works. if i can i'll post a video next time ok?

  • @ElusiveCube
    @ElusiveCube 11 лет назад +1

    Is it legal ? Most hand wrapping starts with a gauze and finished with the tape least a inch below the knuckles, this really looked like a cast, such taping could cause cuts serious debilitating injuries, if this is legal than yes it was impressive.

  • @rottamato
    @rottamato 8 лет назад +3

    I was wondering if pro fighters wrap their hands like this every time they train or if they do it for the fight only.

    • @SamHeaton264
      @SamHeaton264 8 лет назад +12

      +rottamato It's personal preference generally, but the top fighters in the world have someone wrap their hands like this for them every day. What you need to remember is that pro fighters have much better technique than you or I and are much faster with their punches. This means they can generate insane amounts of power, but they only have human hands of course, so the possibility for injury is very real, even in training. If they get injured they can't fight and lose money. That means they do everything they can to protect them. We might be able to whack a bag using a pair of five buck handwraps and get away with it, but any decent professional will hit far too hard to take that risk.

  • @All_BlaqQ
    @All_BlaqQ 12 лет назад

    At the end it seemed like Freddy was gonna say "Manny Pacquiao likes a lot of tape".. This is not the way Freddy wraps Mannys hands, Freddy stacks Mannys wraps (He puts tape first, then gause, then tape again) this makes the wraps more like a cast, and protects the hands more. But at the same time it's cheating. Plus he puts extra rolled tape between the knuckiles, making a higher ridge/extra knuckles. (Broken orbital bones)

  • @TELAVIV-cf3tk
    @TELAVIV-cf3tk 9 лет назад

    When I was teach while ago my trainer teach me almost the same the only difference is he use the pad before start wrapping your hands . Freddie use it in the middle of the process. He also never told me about the tape. Maybe cuz he teach me the old school way.i specifically don't know when they start using the tape. I heard about this when I got in the United States. so there's a lot of things that I need to learn in this sport

      Luis Alvarado Gauze and yes most people like toilet paper better. But until you get more into the sport just stick with the fabric wraps, no point in wasting the money on all the gauze.

    • @arcticwolf8313
      @arcticwolf8313 9 лет назад +1

      +alex feliciano (MANEATINGMAN) Wrap around as many times as you fancy just keep the following in mind:
      If you're using a boxing glove, do more revolutions vs an MMA glove because there is more room. For boxing use 2" x 15 yard gauze for wrist wrap and part of a 2" x 10 yard roll for the knuckle pad, MMA glove just use a single 2" x 15 yard or even a 2" x 10 yard roll for the entire wrap.
