For me this remains the ultimate Christmas film, even in 2023 I watch this film every year with our grandchildren and despite the fact that I am 54 now and know every moment in the film and know what is coming, this remains one of the best Christmas films to watch in a pleasant and relaxed way and to laugh again and again at the old jokes.

I'm 40 now and it's still my favourite movie of all time by a mile. I would estimate I've watched it around 300 times, maybe even 500 tbh lol. After it came out on video, I watched it almost daily for about a year after school, and even now I tend to watch it 5 times every year.
If I need some comforting, or I miss my parents I just put it on and I feel exactly like i did when i was 10 years old spending the holidays with my family. A huge part of this is the soundtrack by, imo the greatest composer ever, Mr. John Williams. It's really an incredibly beautiful soundtrack, and boy, if you look up a list of movies that John scored, it's difficult to imagine any of them without his music, he is true-ly a genius of creating magic through music.
You were 7 when it came out and If you watched it 500 times that means you watched it 15 times a year? Sounds a bit excessive. I've probably watched it once a year since 2000, timeless classic for sure.

As long as Home Alone has been out, I've never seen the making of this movie. But, I watch it every year and when I really feel like it, I'll watch it even in the summer time because, it's the kind of movie you can watch anytime when you feel like a good movie. Love it and it will always be a classic.
I remember getting this movie on vhs in August of '91. We watched it over and over. It didn't matter that it wasn't yet Christmas. ❤

Man I miss the 90s
Growing up is a joke I wish I can take everything back as a kid for this I still love Home Alone and I'm 31 this is as close as you can feel to being in the past as you can get for any of you 90s kids out there and are still alive goodluck with the rest of your life. I seriously am having trippy nostalgia over all of this I swear I keep crying inside wanting to wake up in my childhood nothing is what it used to be and it makes me sad x_x all the cool things happened in the past sadly you can't take it back and it irritates me.
I'm in my 60s and also love this movie but my generation also mourns for the 1970s and 1960s. I don't think many people miss the 1980s.....

The best childhood movie ever. I wish there's a Home Alone 2 behind the scenes too. It would be cool to have a watch of that.
Home Alone knocks the stockings off of Miracle on 34th street for me. Pesci and Arnold moving to comedy made the contrast work brilliantly. It's amazing to me how many scheduling issues and accidents lead to the greatest things, and you can't imagine them any other way.
I love this so much. Also when Marv goes "Why the hell are you dressed like a chicken?" will never not crack me tf up!
Watched Home Alone 1 yesterday and introduced my best friend to number 2 today, which he loved too. 42 years old, and still love the movies as much as I did when I was a kid 😊

Home Alone is the type of movie that will be with you for the rest of your life! It still is one of the greatest films for the holiday even though it is over 30 years old! At this point I can recite every word from it! 😀

It is ok to be nostalgic when filmmaking is regressing rather than progressing. Despite the talent of everyone involved to get the direction right, Chris is not allowed to make another masterpiece, for some reason.
This movie will stand the test of time. Just plain FUNtastic.

I'm the same way. Every year it's traditional to watch it and Die Hard because, they are the all time movie classics along with all the Christmas cartoons: Santa Claus is Coming To Town, Rudolph The Red Nose Raindeer, Frosty The Snowman and the list goes on and on. Forever on my TV set.

I heard once that there was a Post Credit Scene that was cut from the movie i don't know if it was filmed but in the scene Harry & Marv are in prison watching T.V. with other inmates and they're watching the movie "Angels with Filty Souls". It gets to the scene where Jonhy kills Snakes and Harry & Marv looked at each other realising it was a movie.
