That encounter was unexpected! Great job!!! By the way, knife + bush = long sticks. Then split into short sticks for fire. No need for a hatchet. I feel your pain about perceived incompetence and "going backwards". I was riding high today and utterly botched a player encounter on Official and got sent straight back to the coast with a plum and a glowstick. ❤

@@TheGamingPod_ Unfortunately I had a full NBC suit and was halfway to meeting the requirements for a Ghillie suit, which I was going to make as soon as I found an M4A1 or AKM in the toxic zone at Rify. But that's the nature of DayZ and, if I'm honest, I quite enjoy starting as a fresh spawn and gearing up!
By the way, Bohemia Interactive has acknowledged the negative feedback about the sensory changes to the Infected, and I believe they will be moderating it somewhat.
@@garrgravarr oh bro sorry to hear that! That’s a lot of gear. I know what you mean, I’m coming to realise that dayz there is no certainty and you might loose everything at a moments notice.

@@TheGamingPod_Oh and yes, you can switch to Livonia without losing your stuff, but you will spawn in at a totally random place on the map and not the usual spawn sites. And when you switch back, the same thing will happen.
@@garrgravarr thanks for the information! I don’t really like the idea of spawning random. Maybe I’ll try Livonia on dzsa launcher but not play a modded version
Good run so far, it’s all about who sees who first!
Tip: Blood regeneration is directly dependent on your food and hydration. Having full water and food (no chunks) will increase blood faster. Eat food until you get the full stomach symbol, then as soon as it goes away eat more.

24:38 the game still has some surprises in the form of wolves bears and mountain lions 😅.
Base will be raided in no time. Personally I never bother base building but i am partial to a well hidden crate or six (get creative with hidding them 😉). And a few shelters hidden away with some gear stashed up.
I gathered it will be raided within no time, just need somewhere to store some items and if it gets raided, so be it
Don't get me wrong it's a fun thing to do and to learn the mechanics of it but once you've stocked up then log in to find it all gone for the umpteenth time the novelty soon wears off 😂.
Yep. As a solo, bases are just inviting trouble. However, stashes can gear you up after you’ve eventually mown down! Get GPS receiver and then you’ll be able to work out what tree you buried it under.
For me the looting up phase is just as much fun as the later part of the game in fact I have been known to log out and start from scratch on a new character just to try a different loot run for a change.
@@exkingsmeadchef Me too. My current play style is ‘The Fisherman’. I stay along the coast heading west, creeping through towns and villages, and fishing as I go. You get to meet freshies and offer them fish. If you meet someone interesting you might head inland together. Top tier loot is a pristine fishing rod.
21:10 you didn’t take the cooking pot. It holds water and takes zero space in your inventory.

It’s extremely rare to leave the airfield without meeting a player. And not meeting a pack of white wolves too? That’s extremely lucky.
It’s always the way when you are looking for someone!

I actually have no idea😂 I even picked the meat up and went to move it to my hands!
When you’re a freshie you should keep a small can of food unopened so that you can warm it and use it like a heat pack to keep body heat up to prevent sickness
And also a knife on your weapon.... almost poking you in the face
