- Hey everyone, today we are back on Chernarus. Carrying on from our previous video with our best run we hit a wall. Chasing shots, traversing Chernarus and finding out what DayZ Official servers are like. I hope you enjoyed the video if you did please leave a like and subscribe. Have a good day everyone!
You can always hear the players you just can’t find thrm
Nothing more true than that!
back in the day my old server was like this. would hear shots run there never find anyone till one day i made friends with a guy on the coast turns out him an his mates just had alts everywhere an would just spawn loot an swap to nxt place an repeat.
Actually got my first kill and it was on official
People signing off before they get killed...
For real brother
It’s funny coz me and a mate where on a official full server yesterday. We camped some high traffic areas (2hours in total) and didn’t see a sausage. In all that time just 1 solitary shot was heard in the distance. Couldn’t believe it!
It does get that way sometimes, I feel like I chased every shot I heard but never found the player
@@TheGamingPod_ this is just a dayz phenomenon. it happens alot on dayz haha.
rule is if you think the shot is x far its going to be z far away
High pop Livonia is where the PvP is on console anyway.
Chernarus is where everyone goes to base, start running the edges & you’ll find all the rats hiding in their bases
Side note: if the server spiked high pop within an hour or so everyone’s on the coast no matter how geared they are, camping pav/zeleno or sevro/novaya will put you into a good position to ambush half the server moving north 😂
Try Livonia for pvp. The map is smaller and most people concentrate in the cities near the river. Chernarus is too damn big.
I’ve played Livonia for a little bit, completely different feel from chernarus. Not so many city’s, a lot of running. But I guess that’s where the concentration of players will be
@@TheGamingPod_ I started on livonia. Playing chenarus it def felt like I was running more. On livonia if you know which way is south you can reach the high tier loot area pretty quick and underprepared but it makes living those lives intense.
@@TheGamingPod_ Honestly having started on Livonia and exclusively playing that map, when i jumped into chernarus the map is enormous and there is a lot of running involved.
man i play livonia since 2 weeks again, and on the official 60 players servers man, its a warzone near the river, i like it
@@TheGamingPod_ i feel like in livonia you dont have to run that much, the villages arent too far away from each other and so on
At the 7:20 area about the snaps you were hearing. No those were not at you. The sound works in a cone type direction from the source (the shooter) outward. You hear snaps if its aimed in your general direction but you can tell they werent at you because nothing was coming from the bushes in front of you. Foliage will shoot directionally also depending on how its getting hit.
Thank you for that. I didn’t realise it worked that way. But that’s definitely very helpful for the future
@@TheGamingPod_ if you can grab a buddy and hit a pvp server and test it out it works in a weird way but once you make sense of it, it's not too bad
No matter how hard I try, it seems like other people are always able to spot me before I can spot them.
I agree, a lot of the time I’m dead before I even know where the bullet came from
3PP OR 1PP? Big difference. When I first played dayz didn't know the difference. If you are on 3pp servers and not abusing the camera to peak over and around shit you will always die first. There is no point playing 3pp servers if you play in 1pp. It will just be a disadvantage to you. 1pp servers are a bit better in the sense people have to reveal themselves to see you and vise versa.
@@MattB86YT exactly this. I didn’t think about it at first when I started playing as I only use 1pp, I try and only play 1pp servers now
Last week I played on a server that showed 60/90 players. I ran from Tri Kresta to Tisy, and continued eastcoast to Svetlojarsk, went south all the way to Elektro, so basicly I ran across the whole map.
The only "encounter" was a single gunshot I heard miles away! Didnt see anyone, didnt see a single dead z, didnt see even a single aggroed z.. Where are everyone?! 🤷🏼♂️
It really can be like that sometimes. Some days you can encounter 3 or 4 people then others times you go hours on end not finding anyone
@@TheGamingPod_ As a solo player, it gets frustrating pretty quickly 😅
@@belowaverageplayer1660 indeed it does
some servers fake their player ciunts
@@Zaarlo1 ok, if thats possible, it would explain the quietness
It is odd... In the old days you were pretty much guaranteed encounters. These days, even playing on full pop servers I rarely see a soul... I've wondered if everyone's fallen in to different ways of playing than they used to.. going direct, cross country to places (cos we all know the maps) rather than taking the roads.. who tf knows...
I never got to play in the height of dayz. But I’ve watched a lot recently and it does seem that in the past it was definitely more encounters. Some days I’ll have a few then can go a couple of days with none. I would say that it’s more than likely everyone has a new play style. Especially if there is a lot of new players not wanting to loose gear
I haven’t ran on a road for longer than 3 minutes since prolly around 60 hours lmaooo
Smart players that want to survive and avoid interactions + Toxic players that have no intention on survival and only play to harass other player. Players can only run into the latter so many time because they get smart.
Well it’s probably because everyone shoots on sight and that has kinda defeated a lot and or the purpose of dayz. Mostly low iq blacks do this quite a bit in the states and or straight white trash that once you hear them speak you immediately understand why Dayz is how it is in its current state.
If they were hackers you would have just gotten the "you are dead" screen. Sounds like a possible fire fight and as you hang around they drew more attention.
There are indeed plenty of days where you don’t see a soul.
Maybe some base hunting to keep you entertained? Either that or some community servers.
I play on console and the PC version really seems like such a different game.
I have seen a few bases on the server I’m playing so might give that a go. I haven’t ever watched any gameplay from console so I have no idea if they are different.
I also play console (ps5) pc looks so much better. Also ps5 dayz right now is just broken
@@chrisnewman-kg9gr it’s a shame to hear that ps5 is broken at the moment, only issues I’ve had so far with dayz is the servers sometimes can be a bit wonky
If your looking for pvp then you should probably hang around zelenegorsk a little bit more.
I got killed at kamensk last week. Second attempt and im super geared with nods now, thanks random guy for helping me out lol
i mainly play on rearmed, modded pvp focused server and trust me it do be like that on there aswell haha
its people being overly scared and a bit paranoid i think, for sure left the area after shooting etc
I think the biggest problem with new players looking for PvP in this game is a box type of tunnel vision.
Everyone limits themselves(frm my perspective) to such a tiny portion of land when looking for someone.
Most ppl on official with gear know how to move & quickly, easily covering 1000M in 1-2 mins, I’ve noticed since most newbies come frm games like siege & cod etc with maps only ranging 100-150M tops they tunnel vision about the same distance in a box fashion(most the time) not realizing the dude they just saw could’ve already made it 200+M from them
This is a very good take. I come from playing call of duty and assume the player I heard shooting is just going to be 30 seconds away. When in reality you can hear a shot from a lot longer of a distance than I realise
I was on a public server from update at the beginning of 2024 until the 1.25 patch. I had a base camp with no walls and nobody ever found it. It was averaging 20+ toxic people every single day and they hardly ever left the coast. Those that did were alt accounting dupers that could not keep a base because they built WAY too big. Then they would harass the server for playing the game. WYA? Is the only communication from anyone. If you challenge them to figure out how to play the game they cry foul but if you don't give them your exact location they act butt hurt. Figured out everyone's play times and made the NWAF a tripwire trap mecca. 90% of the time I'm hunting. If I track a player I will follow them acrossed the map just for them to log out anyways. And 100% of those toxic players that brag about how awesome they are have no directional sense and will combat log so fast its like they have a log out cheat
I think they could double or triple the amount of players on the map at one time.
I think that they need to revamp the server list. Sometimes it’s so buggy and you can’t even see the last server you played on. Causing there to be players disbursed over a lot of different servers. Whereas DZSA, you can always find the server you were on
*In my opinion...there's no way to go looking for PVP in DayZ. It finds you.*
It depends on the server, but when there's 50+ people online...I think there's always a concentration of people at NWAF/Tisy and Coastal Spawn Towns. So it's just up to which type of player you want to be.
I’ve heard people at NWAF, but never seen them, even in an attempt to find them. When I was at tisy, I didn’t see a soul. I’m thinking about running back towards spawn towns for some interactions. Either pvp or someone to run with
Loud speakers, megaphones, shooting a few rubber slugs off into the sky, smokey chimneys, light sources at night, water pumps, police stations, military, heli, convoy. If you know where to find people these things all help finding them. If you are looking for new players or geared players it depends where you should look. What are your intentions? Does it matter? It might.
Get heat buff with a torch build full fire in a house get it smoking and find a nice spot to hide in the trees or bushes nearby. I like to "meat" people on my terms. JK I would never
@@TheGamingPod_ yeah…on the coast I’m more likely to run around in the open…at NWAF I’ll likely run from bush to bush to tree to tree…so that makes sense. The types of fights I get at NWAF are usually much more try hard and you/they die before you/they can see you or react. On the coast you’ll more likely see people doing random stuff…idk might just be me tho
Best bet is to crank off some rounds at VMC. In my experience this has been the only reliable way to find people inland
Yeah it does cross my mind just go loud on some zombies, move to a another location and over watch from there
Did you pick a high pop official server???
I did indeed. This is why I was surprised I didn’t see a soul
Hang around or build a base in high pop areas more. Players will come to you. Simples
13:30 Hackers make those massive bases on official. I once saw one that had nearly 40 watchtowers. They just spawn everything in with admin tools. The base disappeared overnight after I raided them. They must must have deleted it and ragequit. Not the only base I've seen disappearing either.
It did cross my mind that it got to be some kind of hacker or duplication. It just doesn’t seem possible to have that big of a base on official
@@TheGamingPod_ I as a solo built an enormous base in Dolnik industrial on Livonia. Didn't see or hear anyone down there for days and just kept building. Till I logged in being raided and was killed. It's possible given nobody decides to hang out where you are basing up at. Eventually you will be found/raided/killed and abandon the base all together.
Why not eat all the food u have on u? It makes no sense to run around with it.. it take om slots and it is heavy..
Yeah agreed. I’m still in the mindset that it’s better to have some spare on you. When I know that this isn’t the case and better off having fuel food and hydration
Use the baby ak to clear building not sk. Sk is longer than baby ak so you'd get more muzzle lift.
Okay thanks. I was sure which one was better. I appreciate it
That base was a hack 💯
North west air field, that's where the loot is
Wasn’t really after any loot in this run. I felt very geared. Was looking for players😂
Most people spawn down south and book to nw airfield for weapons from the barracks, people also camp that area for players.
Tisy and Kamensk are better.
If the Infected are more than 300m they are most likely spawned by another player. Unless the server is modded for more or less.
I did hear this in a video once and kind of go off of this. The range finder would be handy in this situation
The only problem is hackers
I can’t say that I have run into many hackers. I’ve definitely had one suspicious death back that was way back when I first started playing. Also the base I found in the video was also hackers.
Yeah i try meeting my brother on the coast. Mf dude playing as a ginger woman trys to kill me with a bone knife. Had to shoot them with a shotgun. Then we left started playing a different game. . official is Not realistic
Bro the quality is ass😭 please fix🙏
First comment I’ve ever had about this. Can you elaborate please?
@@TheGamingPod_ the above comment is ass 😂
Walking simulator 😂
If they simply added bikes, or made cars so common that it was actually feasible to get one, this game would be way better. That and a base building update is all dayz needs.
I agree. Being newer to the game I haven’t even had the chance to drive a car yet.
You need to get on Namalsk, you won't be running around bored on there
Maybe I should give another map a go, you recommend Namalsk?
Namalsk yes, much more encounters and challenge.
@@TheGamingPod_ Chernarus sempre foi meu mapa preferido, até conhecer Namalsk.
bro official servers are pretty much dead and in my opinion, this game is a masterpiece, and the way people are enjoying it, myself included, is by playing community servers, the best example other than cheaters is code locks, we currently have a base in a server with 75/75 gates (including barricades which aren't destroyable) and I couldn't imagine myself opening every single one by placing the 4 digits of the lock every time i wanted to get in or out of base 😂. Dayz has been here for too long, the updates they've made and stuff they've added to the game is nothing like the modded community did, another example is boats which already existed in modded servers, and they're bringing them to the game in 1.26
I haven’t thought about checking out community servers. I do see what your say the dial locks are a pain even with one gate getting in and out of your base. Maybe my next run I’ll check out a community server or a modded server
Official servers are pretty much dead, is not true. Myself and many other players prefer and enjoy the vanilla experience.
Gear fear at nwaf
As a newer player this was definitely going through my mind. But I feel like I didn’t run away from the shots just didn’t run enough into them
I think you did great. As a solo you took your time. And patience pays in this game. Hard for him to say gear fear really when you went into atc after shots in the area.
I appreciate that. I do think I’ve been playing a lot better as time has gone on. I use to be a lot more scared to loose my gear but now I know it’s not my gear it’s just my turn with it
@@TheGamingPod_ exactly. If you play this game avoiding contact it gets really redundant. Playing the way you just described is going to give you the best experience.
I play exclusively official
I’ve only played official. But thinking about modded servers to see how different the game is
Play in ps5
Ew
I don’t have a ps5. But from experience any game recently is more populated on pc/run better on pc
lol, go play Fortnite,
This is a good idea, haven’t played Fortnite in a while. Need a duo pal?
