G'day to you again, Nice one ,looks the part, I love that in the 40/50s they some time used to paint there Mud Guard wheel Hubs different colours, once more well done. Armadale West Aust.
No problem. Just a simple one since I had to get 3 videos ahead. So a few simple ones to come then try and get some more complicated ones back in the que. thanks for watching and commenting
That was a tired one, Andy, and I was just fancying the tyres for a 'scrapyard' motor at some point, when you said just that! I really like these Dinky Trojans - they are clean, simple, easy to do, great little castings and perfect for Code3. Amazing that they survive in numbers after, what, 68 years, is it? Terrific result: you earned the first week of your holiday with that one!
Thank you Fraser. These are really satisfying to do. It could only be Esso once I knew the original colour. Before I knew that it was going to be a code 3 Andy’s Garage van.
If that's all the excuse you need, I'd ask if it's done yet? And if not, bloody get on with it! I think I have some 'Martin Road & Racing' custom decals spare from my Aston Martin DB4 Equipe-build a few years back, a Trojan (of which I have a spare!) might be a good idea!
Yeah they give it a lift. I don’t generally like doing long thin stripes but these went on ok. The other way would have been mask and paint by hand or spray. I didn’t have time for that. I don’t think a white marker pen would have worked on this dark red either. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
As the distorted tyres had gone hard they were beyond salvage but I suppose with the careful application of heat it would be possible to make one of the O rings into a flat tyre if one was needed for a diorama set up. Lovely to see this battered old Trojan so well restored.
Good idea Ian. I do have a few tyres that are beyond useable in the parts box. I have been looking at making my own too. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Thank you, it really is a nice red from the Colour It range. Definitely better than the Auto Extreme red gloss I also use at times. Thanks for watching and commenting
Fraser mentioned backing the inner box with paper and it certainly stiffens it up considerably, especially now I’m on medium sized boxes. When I get back I’ve a video to do on box making for the Budgie AA truck. And the ERF platform truck I did. I need to upgrade windows software and print on A3 for that to work as a video 👍 thanks for watching

Quite small as models go but cute. Lovely feeling when you turn shabby to shiny

Hi Andy, don't forget No.453 'Oxo' in blue... should make six vans. Nice little resto and would make a nice collection to have all together.
