Great restorations Andy. You're right to be pleased with the paint on them, they look superb. I look forward to your video on painting and the use of the your new dehydraytor.
Thank you Buster. I’ve been doing this 2 years in February 2025 and I think I’ve just got the basics properly together. Most of the time ! Thanks for watching and commenting 👏👏
Nice trucks Andy , I like the colours , good work on the head lights . I've got few of these so I will restore them too. Brilliant. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
G'day to you Andy, well done Sir,nice job all round,I was hoping you would do one with different coloured Mud Guards ,but that's me,once more well done! Armadale West Aust.
I did consider doing the mud guards and front bumper black, pls the rear mudguards as the real trucks seemed to look. But because the the paint was so good looking I decided to keep true to the model. I’ve a Commer truck on the table maybe that will get the mud guards and front treatment. Thank you for your continued support it is much appreciated 👏👏
@@andysgaragediecastrestorations Thanks for your reply, I remember when I was a Kid back in the UK a lot of the Lorries had different coloured Mudguards ,cheers.
I quite liked the patina on the dropside body - it is a pity the chassis was not separate to make the Cab easier to paint.. you can imagine a well kept cab on a working truck. Nice results, Andy - did you notice that the grille is the same as the FX3 taxi casting? Lovely pair - just in need of a gravel load!
@@andysgaragediecastrestorations: it's not a shared part, as the taxi does not have a separate grille, but the design is the same and was correct for commercial, non-car derived Austins of the period, with the three vertical chrome bars and the tree twin-horizontal bars on a black pressed panel. It is very close to the Bedford grille of the same period and I think Dinky interchanged the grilles on both Bedford and Austin early commercials, so you could well have similar Bedfords or an Austin bin lorry.
Fantastic restoration of austin lorrys lovely colours Andy thank you very much for sharing cheers 🍻 xxx
