it was not a plat because you kept interrupting the combo meter, combo points are influenced on how long you can keep it ongoing. long pauses usually dont help. try taunting, it helps keeping the meter up!
You probably already figured it out already but just shooting bullets can keep a combo score up as well as taunting. If I ever get a bit disoriented I like to shoot some bullets, easy way to find the enemies and keep combo score up from a distance.
usually if a verse or alfhiem wants me to get more combo points, i would put on Gaze of Despair like i always do. Though another key thing based on my experience is not to depend too much on quick wicked weaves, hit some kick and punches too (but you would probably look less stylish)

woahhh how did u do so many abks in a row at the start???and the combo was low bc it kept breaking and resetting the multiplier :3
if you jump off the enemy by sliding from kick to jump, it resets. you can ABK indefinitely
