I commend you as you are a brave soul to finish all of the witch trials with Bayonetta herself. I did numbers 1 - 4 up to the best of my abilities, but when it came to 5 it was honestly just a nightmare. I didn't necessarily even have that many tricks like you did here. I went with as many different weapon combos but nothing made the cut. For me I completed 5 with Jeanne as her witch time lasts just a tad bit longer than Bayo's. The Angel Slayer and Alruna combo is what helped me get through the double fights in the verses. Excellent work!
my advice to others is to not use rosa unless you're a somewhat expert at playing her. one hit from anyone of these enemies is like half your life. Jeanne is meh since when dodging her witch time doesn't activate unless you use the moth within or the bracelet of time.
moonshineblood Super duper late response, but I actually found getting Pure Platinum on this chapter so much easier with Rosa than with Bayonetta or especially Jeanne. Once you build ~2 1/2-3 gauges of magic by getting through the Hatred/Allegiance and the double Valiance stages (Eternal Testimony + Moon), you can just equip Bracelet of Time + beads (forgot the name)/Pulley’s Butterfly/Moon once you get to Alraune/Loptr-Rosa pretty much obliterates them and everyone else after with just PPPP (hold), PKP (hold), and occasional PPKP (hold). The Bracelet of Time should last for the rest of the chapter since she only has to use somewhere between two to four Witch Times before going to the next stage. Though I will admit that Balder and Bayonetta/Jeanne can sometimes sneak in a few hits since their attacks kind of come out of nowhere. It’s not too bad, but that can get annoying if you’re trying to Pure Platinum the entire chapter. Maybe I’m just so used to Rosa’s glass cannon properties since I use no one else but her lol

Could you do a guide on this game covering tactical weapon combos and methods of clearing out enemies while remaining safe? I also want to know why you have love is blue on one set and Scarborough fair on the other.
I know this is 7 years late, but I’ve got some curiosity I’d like to indulge. What made you choose Scarborough Fair over Love Is Blue for the Alruna enabler? Both are decent quick weapons, true, and they have somewhat different combos, but I’m curious what made you pick one over the other. Second: is there any possible merit to using the bow alongside chain chomp, if you mostly want to use it to enable the triple flip launch anyway?
Not him but I alternate between the two guns for hands and Alruna for feet so I can weigh in. Generally speaking Scarborough gives similar output but a faster PKP finisher, which is essential since a lot of human-type enemies love dodging your slower weaves otherwise, and Bracelet of Time can generally only give you enough time to finish essential actions. Scarborough also keeps Bayo on the ground on Punch finishers unlike Love is Blue, and Alruna doesn't do bonus damage to enemies staggered mid-air, so those two factors generally work out with each other.
Jesus Christ. I've been working on this chapter for hours with just Scarborough Fair, Salamandra, Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa, and Eternal Testimony. Seems impossible. I got pure platinum once from the first round. The farthest I've gotten is verse 3. Most of the time, in any of the chapters I've gotten to for Witch Trial 5, I get caught in combos by the two bosses. For example, I dodge an attack from one enemy, combo them during Witch Time, and then proceed to get hit the moment Witch Time ends by the second enemy. It ends up leading to a 2 or 3 hit combo that either instantly kills me or takes 90% of my health away. I feel like you either need luck with regards to the enemy's behavior (which is erratic because of non-stop climax difficulty) so that you don't get stuck in a combo you can't avoid, or all these items you're demonstrating. I really wanted to clear this chapter without any special items but I don't see how you possibly can.
Hi Urser! Can I ask you something? Do you have an opinion on Love is vs. Scarborough Fair? From what I've seen, most people consider LiB to be the better weapon, and SF kinda sucks in comparison. However, I remember reading something recently that mentioned how LiB's PKP weave has a startup delay that SF doesn't, but I didn't think there was a big difference. The PKP whip slam into weave combo that you used in this video is kinda impressive, never seen it before. Does it work with LiB, or is the weave too slow? I just got the game recently, and I'm having a blast. Kinda sucks that all of the discussion/forums are dead, because I really want to talk about it.
Actually I'm not too sure about the small differences between LiB and SF. I recall the developers wanting to make PKP weaker in Bayo 2 so it makes sense if the animation for the wicked weave for LiB is slower, but I don't think they applied that change to SF. Honestly the reason I'm using SF on one weaponset and LiB on the other is simply colour coding. It's easier to keep track of what weapon set I'm using just by focusing on the red/blue particle trails left by the guns. And it's pretty~
Urser Ah, thanks for the reply. Yeah, LiB and SF seem really similar. I think LiB has nicer combo strings with weaves that are good for utility, while SF's seem faster. One's not strictly better than the other, I guess. They didn't actually do much to nerf PKP weaves at all, actually. If you look at the weapon damage data, most weaves deal really similar amounts of damage. The damage mostly varies by weapon instead. LiB and SF's PPPPP combo deals 50 more damage than PKP and PPKP, but other than that there's almost no variance in the damage of punch weaves. Even Shuraba keeps its high PKP damage. Wonder what they changed? Anyway, I'm looking through your videos and there's some really impressive stuff here. Do you still play Bayo 2?
Wow really? Maybe when they nerfed the PKP combo they just increased the animation length and knockback (so it's harder to combo enemies or something), rather than the damage output itself. They worded it very vaguely. And nah I don't really play Bayo 2 anymore, but I would like to go back and explore it in the future. I think it's fair to say that Bayo 2's combat is a bit shallower than Bayo 1's, but I'm still nowhere near the technical skill ceiling in either game to say I'm done with them.
Urser Yeah, it kinda sucks that this game is so dead. I'd really like to talk about it and try to work out the details, but everyone seems to have abandoned it for some reason. Anyway, thanks for the talk. I'm currently having a hell of a time trying to beat Rodin, going to try again tonight.

ALSO ALSO also, Chain Chomp's triple bomb attack at the end of the PPPPK combo has crazy good knockback and damage. ALSO ALSO ALSO also, Alruna's grab/slam attacks are arguably the most overpowered mess in the game - you can spam them in conjunction with bracelet of time because enemies can not block or dodge out of your attacks during witch time.
