It still would reduce animal suffering, but you are right. There has been lots of progress on the "serum-free mediums for growing meat" field of research though. @@dBakaj
As ever with weird science Ian Malcolm can sum it up: "Your Scientists Were So Preoccupied With Whether Or Not They Could, They Didn’t Stop To Think If They Should.” I bundle this under the vegan food industry obsession with making their products actually look like their meat repacements, like vegan bacon, or vegan fish fingers. Seems a first world search for a solution to a problem. I'm more interested in the cost of production and processing and usage than in the taste. As generic protein for things like animal feed it has merit.
The possibility of prion disease ie CJD is potential problem of eating human burgers like tribal group PNG who don't bury granny when she dies, they eat her. Its literally what she would have wanted. Q. What do vegan cannibals eat? A. Human beans.
I would swap for lab meat now if it would be available. I was vegan for 7 years, and I had health issues after that, so I switched to eating fish and chicken every now and then. But I feel bad for the animals.
the number of people who used to be vegan but now cannot continue for health reasons is quite lengthy. I do not know your circumstances or situation so I will not comment on that but did you consult doctors, nutritionists, etc.? I get my blood tested every year and my doctor advises me based on that.
Jen is on fire in this clip 😁👍
Killer question from Jen on the ‘Human Meat’
Great discussion point.
that spiralled out fast 🙂
There are concrete nail guns - admittedly they’re £600+ and it’s very specialised but might be cheaper/easier than moving to America
Quote of the week: "You are what you eat, and I'm eating what I am"
Eating own meat can be a solution for people who are very sensitive or allergic to almost all other plants or animals' meat.
As a man, it’s nice to know we can be replaced by (what is essentially) a stapler
Human meat followed by nail gun. Pew pew pew. Hahaha
I'm vegan and totally pro lab grown meat.
Lab grown meat isn’t vegan. They still need fetal bovine serum to feed the meat.
It still would reduce animal suffering,
