In the video, you say we need to seriously think about how we grow enough food. We already grow more than enough food. If we stopped wasting good quality land to grow crops for cattle, we could all turn to plant-based diets, have an abundance of food, and save the planet at the same time.

I didn't say to kill all chickens. Just set a deadline and simply stop mass breeding so many into existence and then let sanctuaries take them in. Most industrial chickens are killed in a few weeks so it's not like the numbers can't be managed by the process you're advocating for anyway. Again, just stop breeding more into existence.
