To anyone who says coffee is bad for you. I used to drink coffee like a madman with no limitations and no schedule. I was also an unhealthy person, with a bad diet and sleep habits. At the time, I could say coffee didn't do me much good; only kicking up my anxiety. As soon as I cleaned up my diet, improved my sleep, drank coffee an hour after waking up, and consumed it at a limit, caffeine has been nothing but good for my brain, body, and digestive system. Coffee also has antioxidants that are good for the body. Context matters when it comes to drinking coffee. In a controlled environment, I don't see how it's bad unless you have certain conditions.

I believe moderation is key in everything we do in life, drinking coffee is just one of them. I only drink coffee in the early morning hours. Filling up a cup with coffee and milk at 50-50 portion with one refill, would not touch coffee during the day. I have never had any trouble. I could not find a better way to consume both coffee and milk the same time. We all have our personal preference. You just have to figure out what fits you and stick to the routine.

I also suffered from anemia because coffee and tea reduce the absorption of iron in your intestine.
I am slightly addicted to coffee (like its taste, but don't drink it everyday). However, when I drink it during exams, it doesn't make me stay awake at all....I feel naturally sleepy....

Something must be wrong there, as you shouldn't get those issues. Caffeine is a diuretic so you should be drinking water to keep you hydrated and avoid headaches. If you go to Italy, you'll be served water alongside your espresso.

Quit coffee a few weeks ago and can already feel the benefits. Anxiety is way down, and heart palpitations are not so noticeable stable mood has improved stress levels are down.

My pain doctor (who is also a true expert in metabolism) who has now become one of my closest friends, did research into caffeine after I told him for years I do worse after I have my coffee. When I was studying in India, I consumed a lot of coffee. The effects this had on me were a nightmare! I had very little sleep, developed migraines, had rapid heartbeats and was very irritable and always on some kind of an impulse. I cut my coffee with chicory, 1/2 and 1/2. Tastes great; more inulin; less caffeine and just as satisfying. No sugar added, just some whole milk. Perfect.
Good suggestion. Unfortunately, I have Crohn’s disease, so I cannot consume inulin, unless I want to be hospitalized. So, what I do is use a locally sourced, organic decaffeinated and caffeinated roast. I use varying amounts of both, depending upon who I’m sharing my coffee with. Everyone is different. 10 cups of coffee would kill my stomach. I drink about 3 or 4 cups a day. If I drink more, my body gets used to it, and I don't have the stimulating effect. But if it works for you, go for it!

Reading the comments, it's pretty clear that regular consumption of coffee doesn't suit everyone. It's a powerful and addictive stimulant and should be treated with respect. Decent coffee is also expensive !
I've never had coffee until a few years ago, when I started testing it. My overall takeaway is that it leaves me with less energy, and makes me more tired and less energetic about life and all the things I'm focusing on. I recommend you try cutting out this dangerous drug - try going a week without it. Being addicted to or reliant on any drug is terrible. You don't have to cut it out completely, but just try and see for yourself how you feel.

You think you're getting relief from ADHD, but you're in fact just alleviating the withdrawal process. ADHD is an issue with the dopaminergic system and caffeine messes with that. The fix is actually no drugs whatsoever (including caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, weed) and a ketogenic/carnivore diet. It regulates brain function. Creamers are basically a poison, try not to get accustomed to it. If the coffee is of good quality and brewed well you should not need that, especially those artificial flavoured ones. Milk will give that hint of sweetness and balance.

As an active gym goer. I had no clue that my lack of recovery was due to my intense coffee intake. The level of insomnia that I had to deal with over the years were absolutely unbearable. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed some of the benefits of coffee as mentioned in this video. Mainly, "The suppression of appetite and massive increase in strength /energy levels. However I would never prioritize a coffee over my sleep, as it could have been very detrimental to my overall health. So I had to quit!! Nonetheless, I still miss that massive aroma!

Quit coffee a few weeks ago and can already feel the benefits. Anxiety is way down, and heart palpitations are not so noticeable stable mood has improved stress levels are down.

last year I realized that years of periodic painful, red and purple toes, which eventually peeled like the frost nip peels, was caused by my caffeine intake from lots of coffee, lots of chocolate milk and excessive hot coco powder. it has an affect on some peoples liver. 12 months without coffee. Have you ever tried combining varying amounts of decaffeinated and caffeinated coffee when brewing? I have to do so for some of my family members who are sensitive to caffeine.
At Christmas and throughout the Holiday Season, I make “Specialty Coffees” for family and friends alike. I even make fully decaf and various combinations of caffeinated/decaffeinated for those who are sensitive to caffeine. This way, everyone enjoys their specialty cup of Java, along with my homemade baking.

My pain doctor (who is also a true expert in metabolism) who has now become one of my closest friends, did research into caffeine after I told him for years I do worse after I have my coffee. He discovered that caffeine blocks the function of a key natural pain blocking chemical in the body. We both discussed it and realized that I was BY FAR the worst in my pain disease when I was drinking free coffee at work. The amplified bone crushing pain ended up costing me my job -- and career. Based on what he and I have learned about caffeine and pain, I would recommend that anyone struggling with chronic pain stop drinking coffee (and sadly even decaf... long story). Go for a month without it to see how you do. Then you can consider starting again.
When I was studying in India, I consumed a lot of coffee. The effects this had on me were a nightmare! I had very little sleep, developed migraines, had rapid heartbeats and was very irritable and always on some kind of an impulse. I discovered coffee might have been the cause when, on one particular week I did not take coffee and I felt different. Since then, I stopped taking coffee completely!

I cut my coffee with chicory, 1/2 and 1/2. Tastes great; more inulin; less caffeine and just as satisfying. No sugar added, just some whole milk. Perfect.
Good suggestion. Unfortunately, I have Crohn’s disease, so I cannot consume inulin, unless I want to be hospitalized. So, what I do is use a locally sourced, organic decaffeinated and caffeinated roast. I use varying amounts of both, depending upon who I’m sharing my coffee with.
On the occasion where I combine half decaffeinated with caffeinated, I can enjoy a bit more coffee in my day, which is always delightful!

Everyone is different. 10 cups of coffee would kill my stomach. I drink about 3 or 4 cups a day. If I drink more, my body gets used to it, and I don't have the stimulating effect. But if it works for you, go for it!

I've never had coffee until a few years ago, when I started testing it. My overall takeaway is that it leaves me with less energy, and makes me more tired and less energetic about life and all the things I'm focusing on. I recommend you try cutting out this dangerous drug - try going a week without it. Being addicted to or reliant on any drug is terrible. You don't have to cut it out completely, but just try and see for yourself how you feel.

Migraine is symptom, not a disease.
I went through the same thing as you but I only found out I was actually deficient in other minerals and vitamins. I began consuming Zinc and vitamin c in the morning and I no longer have headaches! You should give it a go if your migraine persist.

Paradoxical reactions are common with coffee, medications and herbs for some neurodiverse people.
Caffeine increases dopamine levels, which may help with ADHD.
one big reason is caffeine withdrawal (which you experience each day unless you have caffeine or quit). That causes ADHD type symptoms. You think you're getting relief from ADHD, but you're in fact just alleviating the withdrawal process. ADHD is an issue with the dopaminergic system and caffeine messes with that. The fix is actually no drugs whatsoever (including caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, weed) and a ketogenic/carnivore diet. It regulates brain function. Sugar and ultra-processed foods can also cause over-excitation triggering ADHD, just like drugs can.

Yes it may taste better with sugar and creamer but then you lose all the coffee benefits once you add that poison.
Creamers are basically a poison, try not to get accustomed to it.
If the coffee is of good quality and brewed well you should not need that, especially those artificial flavoured ones.

I actually have water next to my coffee and alter between the two…a few sips of coffee followed by a few sips of water. I have the opposite problem…often drink too much water…leading to a decrease in crucial minerals within my body.
However, I think you made a good point, as most individuals need to be mindful of the diuretic affect of caffeine…whether it’s coffee, tea, or the highly dosed “energy drinks”, which also contain added sugar, sugar substitutes, and other ingredients, that can potentially be harmful.

As an active gym goer. I had no clue that my lack of recovery was due to my intense coffee intake. The level of insomnia that I had to deal with over the years were absolutely unbearable.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed some of the benefits of coffee as mentioned in this video. Mainly, "The suppression of appetite and massive increase in strength /energy levels.
However I would never prioritize a coffee over my sleep, as it could have been very detrimental to my overall health. So I had to quit!! Nonetheless, I still miss that massive aroma!
