To anyone who says coffee is bad for you. I used to drink coffee like a madman with no limitations and no schedule. I was also an unhealthy person, with a bad diet and sleep habits. At the time, I could say coffee didn't do me much good; only kicking up my anxiety. As soon as I cleaned up my diet, improved my sleep, drank coffee an hour after waking up, and consumed it at a limit, caffeine has been nothing but good for my brain, body, and digestive system. Coffee also has antioxidants that are good for the body. Context matters when it comes to drinking coffee. In a controlled environment, I don't see how it's bad unless you have certain conditions.

I believe moderation is key in everything we do in life, drinking coffee is just one of them. I only drink coffee in the early morning hours. Filling up a cup with coffee and milk at 50-50 portion with one refill, would not touch coffee during the day. I have never had any trouble. I could not find a better way to consume both coffee and milk the same time. We all have our personal preference. You just have to figure out what fits you and stick to the routine.

I totally regret drinking coffee for eighteen years. My health is much better after I quit coffee. I used to frequently get heartburn and mouth ulcers when I was drinking coffee. I gave up drinking any caffeinated drinks a few weeks ago, to see if it changes my energy levels and anxiety. I did not expect much of a change as I drank low to moderate amounts of tea and occasionally coffee (most often only one cup but never exceeding 2 cups) for more than 30 years. I couldn’t have been more wrong. My digestion has never been better, I have more energy and sleep better and less anxiety. Of course I miss my morning cup, but the way I feel now outweighs the small pleasure. I only drink water and herbal tea now.

Try combining half decade and half regular strength when brewing, this should help any symptoms/side effects. You can also adjust varying amounts of caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee, according to your body’s reaction.
Try not to drink coffee after 3:00PM. I can drink it much later without experiencing side effects…including insomnia. Yet, my brother cannot tolerate any amount of coffee, so I looked into Green and Black Tea, as well as, other caffeinated options on his behalf. Strangely, I discovered my brother is able to drink Green and Black Tea…yet…I cannot touch Green Tea without experiencing severe side effects…ranging from migraine headaches, nausea/vomiting, and severe joint pain - to name a few.
Scientific research has demonstrated coffee to be effective in preventing multiple diseases…Alzheimer’s, Chronic Constipation, and Colon Cancer, among many others.

My pain doctor (who is also a true expert in metabolism) who has now become one of my closest friends, did research into caffeine after I told him for years I do worse after I have my coffee. He discovered that caffeine blocks the function of a key natural pain blocking chemical in the body. We both discussed it and realized that I was BY FAR the worst in my pain disease when I was drinking free coffee at work. The amplified bone crushing pain ended up costing me my job -- and career. Based on what he and I have learned about caffeine and pain, I would recommend that anyone struggling with chronic pain stop drinking coffee (and sadly even decaf... long story). Go for a month without it to see how you do. Then you can consider starting again.

The migraine is likely due to coffee addiction and its withdrawal effects. It is very common to experience a headache when you start to withdraw from coffee, even after just a few hours without it. Drinking coffee again can relieve the headache. one big reason is caffeine withdrawal (which you experience each day unless you have caffeine or quit). That causes ADHD type symptoms. You think you're getting relief from ADHD, but you're in fact just alleviating the withdrawal process. ADHD is an issue with the dopaminergic system and caffeine messes with that. The fix is actually no drugs whatsoever (including caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, weed) and a ketogenic/carnivore diet. It regulates brain function. Sugar and ultra-processed foods can also cause over-excitation triggering ADHD, just like drugs can.

I actually have water next to my coffee and alter between the two…a few sips of coffee followed by a few sips of water. I have the opposite problem…often drink too much water…leading to a decrease in crucial minerals within my body.
However, I think you made a good point, as most individuals need to be mindful of the diuretic affect of caffeine…whether it’s coffee, tea, or the highly dosed “energy drinks”, which also contain added sugar, sugar substitutes, and other ingredients, that can potentially be harmful.
      Cheers!🇨🇦

Coffee IS a diuretic but it doesn't cause dehydration. That's a misconception.

In my childhood BBC was a popular news channel with great journalists and news presenters.

I grew up as a US expat in Eurrope. My mother had the BBC on, via her Grundig short wave radio, all the time.
This video is politically correct middle school tier infotainment.

In India, 30 years ago, when I was a primary school going kid, we used to watch BBC to learn English pronunciations. Inherently we got exposure to world affairs.
As you said it became an infotainment channel now.
Now Palki Sharma like journalists are forging ahead. Did BBC accept defeat and moved into infotainment space??

As an active gym goer. I had no clue that my lack of recovery was due to my intense coffee intake. The level of insomnia that I had to deal with over the years were absolutely unbearable.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed some of the benefits of coffee as mentioned in this video. Mainly, "The suppression of appetite and massive increase in strength /energy levels.
However I would never prioritize a coffee over my sleep, as it could have been very detrimental to my overall health. So I had to quit!! Nonetheless, I still miss that massive aroma!
