@@peacegiver1000 👍 KFC announced on July 16, 2020 it would test chicken nuggets made with 3D bioprinting technology in Russia this fall.
The chain partnered with 3D Bioprinting Solutions to create a chicken nugget that will mimic the taste and appearance of its original nuggets at a fraction of the environmental cost.
Yusef Khesuani, cofounder and managing partner at 3D Bioprinting Solutions, said he hoped the KFC partnership would help accelerate the rise of cell-based meats and make them more widely accessible.
Although it's not currently widely used in food, lab-grown meat is a heavily researched product that many investors hope will be on the market soon. Memphis Meats, a cell-based meat startup, raised $161 million in its latest funding round, and major investors include CPT Capital, a venture fund that has also backed Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat.
Also on July 16, KFC announced it would sell Beyond Fried Chicken at over 50 California restaurants for a limited time after successful tests in Nashville, Atlanta, and Charlotte.

So many unanswered questions! Is it as nutritious as real meat? How much energy is consumed to produce this? Has there been any long term human tests to assess the long term impact of consuming this? Will they produce real pieces of meat like wings, breast or thighs or is it always going to be some nugget? As long as these questions are unanswered, this will only be the next trendy fad for young people.

Seriously? They're clones from chicken cells. By definition, its structure and composition is identical to chicken meat. Also, cell cultures are pretty much more energy efficient than animal farming per equal output (by a long shot). That's kinda like asking if solar cells are really more environmentally friendly than 'clean coal.' And if you have to ask about whether this method can create different parts of the chicken, you obviously don't know what cloning is. And I'm not talking about the cloning you see in sci-fi.

The long term effects on humans is still unknown, but just assume the best. About the real pieces of meat like wings, etc It is possible it will just take much longer for us to learn how to do it efficiently, so for the time being expect most of it to be hamburgers, chicken nuggets etc. Hopes this sums it up a little bit better also sorry for the grammar/ spelling.

You claim that these nuggets are as nutritious as real meat. They probably contain the same amount of protein but what about other vitamins and minerals? In the last few decades, the ubiquitous use of “modern” agricultural practices have resulted in significant mineral deficiencies. The vegetables we consume have far less minerals than what our grandparents used to consume. I am not an expert in this field and wouldn’t want to talk about something I am not really familiar with but wouldn’t trust some online warriors “expert” opinion over what I eat.

Having more options always drives prices down, but I would never eat synthetic meat. The only meat I eat is local, raised on my Homestead, or what I hunt. I hope they can convince enough people so it will be successful, but with all the miss trust with big corporations and government out there, I doubt it.

I suspect lack of essential amino acids is one. Since some of it requires fermentation process inside the chicken guts itself. B12 is also a problem, since it requires the fermentation process to be made. One thing they can do to fix that is by adding synthetic B12 derived from cyanides.
Another one is the agar compounds to grow the culture. Some of it can disrupt good guts bacteria in human. It's an issue since, lack of microbes inside our guts will lead to autism.

When you move a chicken coup, you leave poison in the soil. The chicken waste is filled with bacteria and viruses and has to be stored to prevent runoff. It is converted to fertilizer. The only question is taste.

What Just is doing is add unnecessary processing to this simple food which just needs boiling and eating or sprouting at the most.
