Hey JP, it's Gary from Canada. Thanks for this short video; I've watched it maybe a dozen times over the last 3 days. There's tons of info presented in a very short time, so I had to keep going back to review as I advanced from one stage to the next. I took my time to avoid breaking any of the plastic on my 2012 Honda Civic EX-L. I wasn't installing a radio but had to remove it to run a USB cable to power a Tire Pressure Monitoring System that I've mounted on the dash directly above the radio. Your video gave me the courage to take the challenge on and I finished the job today in about 6 hours, which isn't bad for 76 year old me but was probably about 5 hours more than it would have taken you! Thanks again for sharing this type of how-to with all of us. Gary
Hey man! Appreciate the help, doing mine this weekend. One question, how did you handle the mic if it had one? Can I use the factory mic in my civic with the aftermarket radio?
So i have this same car and i am having trouble understanding how to connect it to the new stereo. There were 3 or 4 plugins that you took out of the original, do some of those just stop getting used? How many of the original ports end up getting connected to the new head unit?
Great vid. Really wanted to see how to retain use of the 2012 Civic’s factory screen in the dash. Btw, get some work gloves bro. Your hand looks toe up. 😂
hello, i just did the install and it all went perfect but the display on the car doesnt turn off (imid) even when the car is turned off, did you run into this problem and know how to fix it?
Hey man, I really need your help with wiring on a 2004 Lexus ls430, I’ve got the pac harness, I just can’t get the factory amp to turn on, idk what to do.
JP, I have to ask, can the radio be removed without taken out all the other pieces on the left? I've seen a guy do it by just removing the middle at 1:28
Great video sir. I have a similar car, and 2012 civic Si and I want to change the factory radio to a navigation with back up camera make it look epic. I am handy and have installed single Dins in my previous civics but my new 2012 si has all these factory tweeters and a factory sub so I don’t know how to wire it all the way it should be and I do not know how to install a back up camera. You sound very well spoken great video
I tried to put in an after market radio into my 2012 Honda civic and I did everything correctly but it wouldn’t turn on. To check if it was the new head unit as the problem, I replaced my old unit back in but now I’ve lost power to my radio and info screen up top as well as the USB in my console and the cigarette lighter. Can you help.
Can you link a good Amazon link for a screen for the dash? I’ve put the dash in my cart but the screen is no longer available in your description box so do you have an alternative ty! Also do you know roughly how much it cost if I buy the dash and screen parts to get it done? I have a 2012 Honda civic ty 🤗
I'm actually going to be doing a video soon on how much stuff should cost to get installed pretty soon but there is a lot of factors. Every car is different, but you will need parts to install a radio dash kit, wire harness, antenna adapter, etc. Than shop labor really just depends on how much the shop wants to charge per hour usually 65 to 100 dollars

Next time release the shift lock and move the gear selector out of your way, it'll make things easier.
Helpful 👏🏽 thank you
Can you remove just the radio section? I saw a guy do it with another civic and he didn't remove anything apart from the centerpiece with the radio.

Is it possible to route the USB on the new radio to the existing USB in the center console?
Good video - thank you! I needed the Civic LX details and you delivered.

Awesome! I find the radio fades in and out really bad on this car. Any quick fixes?
What happens to the display at the top of the Civic? Does it still do anything when in the radio mode?
I did not see the link for the "flush mount USB" to be used for Apple Carplay.

Yeah did you end up finding it or you need the link ?
Great video - thanks!

Hello, what did you do with the factory antenna and harness since there were 5 ?
After you got to the screws I got too nervous to do this myself 😭😭
8mm screws are an absolute pain to remove
Yep… i gave up… and dont even try using a philips screwdriver.
Info doesn’t even say what car stereo that is 👀👀
Sick screwdriver bro. I neeeeed!!!!
