@@sajan10hI literally just beat the dlc. The final boss was a confusing mess that was just repetitive. Only beat it because I looked up what I had to do.
It’s the original ending that they wanted to put in the game, but yeah it’s technically a spin on the other ending
I feel more like it’s a good ending in the originals like the bad ending
3:00:46 at this point, its clear to say that Sonic is extremely durable after tanking such a Universal level blast like that at his base form!
I mean the fact he could take on guys like Erazor Djinn, Solaris and Time Eater says a lot on it’s own

I must admit that cyber corruption buff for Super Sonic makes him much more stronger than usual Super Sonic. It was a hell of a fight againts Supreme The End.

Talking about the new superform, did you Saw Sonic's face like fleetway when he got shot to supreme?
This really reminds me of Unleashed. A HUGE difficulty spike by the end, and an epic (yet janky) final boss.
The remix of "I'm here" made me think about Gaia's phase 2, It was so cool
Tell me about it. That final trial prior to the final boss was too hard for me.
I wish they could have done a story that is set after the game rather than a “What If…?” Scenario, but other than that, I am happy about this update. Amy finally has a good moveset after years of being lacklustre, Knuckles plays like he does in the Adventure games, slightly revamped for the new generation, and Tails (my favourite character in the series) plays the best he ever has!
Far as I recall, the “What if?” scenario is considered canon while the main timeline isnt.
Which I hope thats the case.
@@merimkastrat5846both are canon cus in the end the situation is the same. Friends saved, sage is alive in the end, supreme is defeated and destroyed and the end is defeated.
Edit: imma explain it cus some people don't inderstand. What I mean is, despite the differences in events, in the end the resolution is the same, friends saved, sage is alive by the end of the game (in the original ending eggman brings her back so yes it's the same) Supreme titan is defeated and destroyed in both endings, and The End is defeated in both endings, and it doesnt matter if sonic got a new form in the new ending cus in the end, he loses access to it. It's a one off form, so basically, it you choose the original ending or the new ending, the end situation is the same. It doesn't affect the future nor the past events. Basically, Sega gave us the choice to chose the ending we preffer, without either affecting the canon. And while making it so both can be canon.

@@leo_501bro wut. In the main timeline sage dies, I mean Eggman revives her, but there are STILL some differences. Tails, knuckles and Amy don’t do anything in the main timeline, that’s a pretty big difference.
@@merimkastrat5846 this isn't a what if The Last Horizon is the true ending for Sonic Frontiers while the OG one is now a alternate timeline one of the possible scenarios where The End got defeated

That coldheartedly confident Super Sonic 2 going full Jojo on Supreme The End and finishing it off with that full-on cyber mode zigzag crash is just...*Chef Kiss*👌 peak icing on the cake of this update.
Also I love how Sage lives and Eggman taking her home as his adopted daughter like a good father should at this better ending.

@@socheata643 The playable Tails, Amy and Knuckles are also peak once you max level all of their skills, even though their flight controls are a bit jankey and still needs tweaks all except for Amy, but overall, still a pretty peak update nonetheless and a peak free dlc in general.
Infinite over used his powers limits and he started to disapear after Sonic and Avatar beat him up, but before he disapeared he got revaled by someone who he probably could hear and maybe he had visions, now I see the Sonic in Frontiers indure the same things as infinite in forces, infinite will become good in the next game I feel it

@@wellingtonafonsodecarvalho9842 if they tweak Tails' and Knuckle's flight controls and turning at the start of their animation that's holding their air momentum on a dime. We would get SA1 Tails and Knuckles in a AAA sonic game in the future
The End reminds me of the Dark Oak ending of Sonic X it also looked like a planet that's starting to Implode, i don't think it is meant to be like that but still something that made me think of that.
Considering how The End is defeated, the similarities are probably not lost on Sonic Team

This game made mention of a LOT of past Sonic story lines, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that was intentional!
So this is what The End would have been had SEGA higher ups given the devs more time.
No wonder they were fighting so hard to delay the game.

Hahahahha sonic 06 took 3 years had multiple characters from the start not a year later and had way better characters and plotline now imagine if 06 took 6 years. Cheesy frontiers would never come close to the original sonic style!!!

For those who can’t defeat the new final boss in sonic frontiers final horizon here’s a tip for ya: BREAK THE DAMN CORD!!!
(Hit the end one time and then sidestep then break the cord)
FINALLY, i get to watch a professional play the Final Horizon.
They weren't kidding when they said some of those trials would be grueling, but when I beat Master King and I'm With You (Vocal version) kicked in every bit of frustration melted away. That's a great ending.
Yeah no kidding feeling the same way.
This happened again when I got hit by the almost instakill attack(the one at 3:00:16), died in a cutscene, then got to that moment once more, got hit again, but now Sonic straight up refused to die and returned to kick Supreme's ass.

The trails are terrible. They take too long and if you mess up they make you do the whole thing over again

That "all out" version of the new super form was certainly an interesting homage to fleetway super sonic
"Power of Teamwork" was from Sonic Heroes, "Lets Do it To it" was from Sonic The Hedgehog Saturday Morning Cartoon
I’m pretty sure when sonic said he was going all out, that form he transformed into was prob full power cyber sonic
Not really though. "Fleetway" is basically just Evil, Crazy Super Sonic in the fleetway comics.
Fleetway Super Sonic is the "true" EVIL version of Sonic, and the comics are Canon, so... yeaaa don't mess with sonic
I don't really understand all the complaints about the DLC, I can agree with some complaints, like the design of some sections that seem to be done a bit randomly and honestly the new playable characters didn't convince me at all, but I loved the dlc , I really loved that increase in difficulty, the game doesn't treat me like a baby, it tests me and it's a feeling that I like, I was even wondering if this really is a Sonic game because damn...the tension in the combats, in every move, being more strategic, and then finally beating the last titans challenge was very satisfying, and the new cyberspace phases are probably the most fun I have played so far in a sonic game, the game is not perfect obviously, but if this is the direction the franchise is going to take in the future I'm on board
While there is alot of jank in the end fight and the difficulty spike might be too much for some players,I,for myself,can confidently say that this is PEAK.

I seriously cannot get up that trial tower with Sonic for the life of me. Amy was pretty good Knuckles was terrible and Tails is in the middle.

@socheataleehem315 I don't know if there's only one way to get up it from because I keep going from the point where you go off the spring and you have to jump up the moving platforms and all that.
Sonic Team were like: “Too easy? And we took that personally.”
I was disliking a lot of the dlc and then I got to the three titans and that was it. Came here to watch the rest.
Skill issue
@@JeD.87 It's not a skill issue when the Titans' attacks were not designed with perfect parrying in mind. The hitboxes often don't match the animation like Giganto's spin attack. Attacks have widely inconsistent speeds and they make it really difficult to time the parry because their animations don't have some split-second indicator that the hitbox is about to appear. Blue Vivacity played it on Easy mode because the perfect parry window is around 1 second long whereas the other difficulties have them at most 0.25 seconds long. It's about 0.1 seconds on Hard and even less than that on Extreme. Given this game's casual target audience, this is less about skill and more about the game's way of implementing a feature.

Roger Craig Smith still has what it takes to be the greatest & best voice of Sonic. Same for Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails. While I prefer Travis Willingham as Knuckles, Dave B. Mitchell as Knuckles has been starting to grow on me (which means I’ve been warming up to it). Dave B. Mitchell is a great Knuckles. Cindy Robinson’s still got it as the greatest & best voice of Amy. Finally, absolutely NO ONE can top Mike Pollock as Eggman. He’s perfect!

And let's hope they keep this up hell it would be even better if they get back at making the characters into boss fights like Sonic for a example at least in my opinion

@@hydrolix5745 that would be absolutely awesome and each of the perspectives of the fight can work in a different way
@@hydrolix5745 like in Shadow's boss fight he causes more damage as he's physically stronger uses his chaos spear chaos blast and a lot of new techniques
@@hydrolix5745 and Sonic's boss fight he also causes quite the damage but he will be dodging most of his attacks so you gotta be tricky and he can even use some of his techniques of older games mixed with his new ones
Supreme turning into a rabid dog is something I didn’t expect, but something I needed.
I honestly hated the starfall event in the og story mainly because it revived the guardians, but in this story i love it cuz its the best way to level up the characters quickly. You can literally get over 2000 koco with one starfall.

I'm pretty sure that was intended, seeing as all characters are base-level with barely much of a way to increase stats.
@@aerodynamo4874 Ye, but here's a thing. Sonic is the best character for beating the guardians cuz they have way too much health and Sonic is the only one with actual combos. I mean I know it is probably possible to beat them with the other characters, but still.
@@BuddyDragon18 yeah, I agree. I tried fighting the guardians with other characters and it was possible but it made me wanna tie my head to a train rail, beating them with sonic is the best way to go

Not gonna lie, I had a really tough time with this dlc but I managed to complete it. Nearly lost my composure though
Really enjoyed this update. Sonic Frontiers is step in the right direction. Would love to see other playable character return in future games with their own movesets and a play style similar to this

I like that Amy is a magical girl now. It’s giving mad ‘Card-captor Sakura’ vibes and I’m here for it. It would be a good match to Sonic going ‘Super Saiyan’ like Goku does. Also, it would be cool if Amy’s ‘Super’ form was a magical girl transformation, IMO, that would be a golden opportunity. It would be great if the two leading hedgehogs would represent Shounen and Shoujo, respectively.
I think it would also be a great way to set Amy apart from the others without being too OOC. You would have Speed, Strength, Intellect, and Magic/Spiritual abilities. Each bringing their own merit to the table.
My only complaint though is that we didn’t get to see her growth or progression from SA1 to Frontiers in a way that was satisfying, but hey, it is what it is. I’m just glad for a nice change.

The update was really fun tho, loved the challenge.
Exactly what I was thinking. Perfect parry on wyvern is barely possible once let alone when u have to do it twice in a row later on in the fight

I do think a true fight against the end itself with cyber super sonic in space with a new original vocal song would've made this update an 11/10 (and it also should've had more quality of life stuff like turning off guardian intros)
I can definitely agree with turning off guardian intros. But I do think they haven't because it's probably something on the lines of "How would they do that to make it look good with the gameplay?"
Now update 3 is just perfectly made 1000 times harder than the Oringal story because when you play as Sonic you need to climb up these towers as Rhea Island it's even more painful than I thought when you mess out once you start over to the beginning but update is fine I have no negatives feelings about this update
Edit: Now the last tower is even more painful, you need to beat all bosses without collecting a single ring so if you run out of rings then you need to start the challenge all the way to the beginning
You try switching the difficulty to easy? Makes the process a lot more easier for newbies like myself
I mean im in the stage where you defeat all bosses with 400 rings without collecting them and I did not tried it but thanks for the advice

The trial towers (both the trial and the climb up itself) made me want to commit a *F**#CKING** WAR CRIME*

Just got the CD soundtrack for this games 3rd update The Final Horizon the mail today at 2:34p.m. and it's the Sonic Frontiers Expansion Soundtrack: Paths Revisited CD and I'm listening to it while watching this! 6:52p.m. 12/19/2023
I really want to know who at Sonic Team hates Tails. All the other characters have their own unique basic melee attacks, and he just...throws wrenches. Someone was really like "Hey, let's have him throw wrenches, because he builds stuff, gedditt?" instead of "Hey, what kind of cool weapons would a genius inventor like Tails build for himself?" The movie got it right, I don't know why they didn't take more ideas from it. He hasn't been playable in 17 years, and he hasn't been fun to play in 25 years, besides 2D games.
Rant over.
I think that's because Tails is supposed to be more of a traversal based character than a combat based one, his flight and Cyclone are a ton of fun to use.

@@nathanevans1382 I get what they were going for, I just wish they would've done more. I feel like Tails has just been disappointing in general more often than not for no good reason. I do think it's cool that they incorporated the Cyclone into his abilities, it's really the wrench throwing thing that really gets me. It's just lame and doesn't even really make any sense. It just feels lazy. There are so many interesting things that could be done with his combat in a game like this without breaking his character.

@phootaphan9166 Yeah, the wrench throwing is a bit basic, but if it makes you feel better, Tails can fire a giant ass super laser from the Cyclone like in SA2's multiplayer mode, I didn't really care about the wrench throwing after I found that.

Something i wondered regarding the playable character feature. Can you still switch between Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy even after the story?
Apparently you cannot do that but i'm sure we can freely play as the other characters in future sonic games

I have a question, does this update replace the end of the game or is it something extra after you have beaten the main game? because I haven't played Frontiers yet, if I start a new game the original story will update to this new story
Replaces the original ending. They run out of time and put the other one, this one is the intended.
Edit: as far as I know both endings will be available. You can choose which one you want by passing that golden gate or not
The original ending is still avalible you can choose which ending you want to do
When you get to Ouranos you have two options, find Sage on Ouranos (OG ending) or go through the ring portal behind you when you spawn in (true ending)
That was a blast in the final fight, no new form or anything. But it was good.

I honestly never thought to manually cyloop with Super Sonic cuz of how long it takes to make the circle and it's kinda hard to focus on that and the bosses attacks, I always used to quick cyloop once the meter is full. But that does sound like a good strat.

I'm not gonna lie, while it's cool to play as Tails, Amy, and Knuckles, a bunch of things in the Update 3 has been giving me such a hard time when I resume my file on Hard Mode. I don't mind having a challenge but my god it''s borderline impossible for me. Snake's trail, the fixed stats in trails, the tower climbing with NO checkpoint, map puzzles and challenges having such ridiculous time limits, questionable Cyberspace levels, and the Master King's trail needing to fight all 3 titans and not getting any rings after one of the titans, even on EASY mode! Gameplay wise, it has potential to be fun but WOW it is frustrating.
So let me get this straight when Sonic Games were easy and required not really a challenge people were complaining now that Sonic Frontiers is more difficult and challenging especially with the new update people stil complain come on

So guys just fill me in on this as I’m a little confused. Does this dlc retcon the final act of the game? Cause it seemingly takes place after Sonic’s friends sacrifice themselves to save sonic from cyber corruption. If not what is this story supposed to be? Also if this is indeed a retcon what’s the post credits scene of the original game’s ending supposed to be? Where Sage is brought back by eggman? And finally Is this now the ending of the game or does the game still play out normally and you just enter this dlc after beating the game normally?
I imagine the base game ending was a simulation created by Sage. Seeing that she wouldn't survive the final battle, she dismissed that scenario.

I mean, every decision you make forms another universe/timeline with differences from the original, so the DLC is one of those universes where the characters were like "hey, what if I do this?"

I rage quit this dlc last night due to it all of a sudden wanting you to be a master, after the base game was so easy. The end fight isn't even worth the pain, it's buggy and the camera doesn't even seem to work half the time, dissapointing dlc. Frontiers main game is still great tho

Im having a HUGE problem with the final boss and locking onto the cord on his head and without doing that Im basically in a loop, im hitting all the directions on my r stick and its not moving
You have to swing into the head and then immediately hit either dodge button to redirect the target reticle to the healing unit on Supreme's neck.

@shrobbyy I don't think it is, it's probably a skill check actually, on Chaos Island you learn how to go around an enemy's guard by dodging after hitting them, and that actually works on the Knight Titan when he puts up his shield, so it makes sense to include a similar gimmick to the final boss.
