My rankings minus the kiddie coasters:
    1. Mystic Timbers - Low to the ground and fast. You don't get a chance to catch your breath.
    2. Orion - Tall, fast and smooth.
    3. Diamondback - It's starting to get rough. You even hear a loud rattle on the first drop.
    4. The Beast - Classic woodie with a unique layout.
    5. Banshee - Great first drop and hangtime on the last zero G roll. But it rattles too much.
    6. Flight of Fear - Love the launch and being in the dark. It does bang you around a little.
    7. Invertigo - Most intense coaster at the park.
    8. Racer - Not much ejector airtime, but not that rough for such an old coaster.
    9. The Bat - Too short and starting to rattle.
    10. Backlot Stunt Coaster - Good theming. Launches aren't that forceful.
    11. Adventure Express - Whips you around too much.

    Love love love the list.
Flight of Fear - I think if it had flashing lights and a dope soundtrack in the bowl, it would be 100% better, "The Final Countdown" by Europe (Detroit Pistons old them, also Daniel Bryan) would be a sweet song playing while you are flipping.
Adventure Express - I would love to see a Bengal or 2 in the finale
    Vortex - bring it back
    Banshee- It's cool at night
The Beast - Left side scary at in the tunnel. If you love headchoppers, you'll love this face scraper
Orion - to me, this reminds me of a baby between Fury 325 and Millenium Force, especially with them overbanks. I love the night lighting.
The Bat - definitely the most thrilling old school suspended. Wish there was a shuttle bus or sent a scooter to get to the front of the line
Timbers - MANEATER - song slaps
Yo Kings Island, if you are gonna cash the Boomerang, send that to Michigan's Adventure. Cedar Fair, we would love that bone in the Mitten.
Diamondback - You can feel them airtime hills when you become the jerk in the car that dozes off on the car ride back and your passengers are like, "broooooo, wake up man - steering wheel, quit swerving"
All the other coasters (sans the Snoopy Hang and Concuss) are Great too.
Bonus points to the drop tower, of of the tallest of that model I think.
Kings Island is great and the new editions are just going to help raise the stock.
My biggest beef are the water rides. For that park, the 3 water rides are kinda mid.
I do like Snoopy's great race flume though. It takes a while, which is great for the relaxarion factor.
    I enjoyed this vid.

Been waiting a long time for this video. So glad to see the Beast in the top 3 where it belongs! I also think it's so interesting how different people can go to KI and have such a difference of opinions on the coasters. My personal list is as follows -
    1. Diamondback (my favorite rollercoaster out of 156 credits if I'm in the back row. Unlike Marc, I absolutely despise the front half of the train on Diamondback due to lack of airtime....the back is absolute perfection)
    2. The Beast (my favorite wooden coaster and #4 out of 156. This is such a unique ride and I hate how people criticize it for not having airtime.... because it's not that type of ride. It's just about going fast through the woods and tunnels. I don't think any wooden coaster will ever top the Beast for me)
    3. Orion (This is a great ride and doesn't deserve any hate. We are lucky that we even have a giga coaster. I do feel like the ride feels too short and has a few elements that are inferior to diamondback in my opinion but overall I absolutely love this ride!)
    4. Banshee (I enjoy banshee's unique layout and forceful inversions. I hate the restraints because they always seem to tighten during the ride and feel very restrictive. The front row is obviously the best and is WAY smoother than the back)
    5. Flight of Fear (I've always had a soft spot for this one and it totally delivers each time I ride it. It's dropped from #3 to #5 over the years with the newer additions and that I feel like the ride is getting rougher with age. However, it's still a really great ride)
    6. The Racer (Classic PTC airtime and most of the time you do get to race. The re-tracking has greatly improved this one and for anyone interested, The Blue Side has a slower lift chain and the Red Side trim is more harsh so it usually evens out by the end)
    7. The Bat (Isn't it ironic that Ohio is home to 2 of the 4 Arrow Suspended Coasters still operating with their original trains and that Kings Island was home to the first and last Arrow Suspended Coaster built? I really enjoy this ride model and hate to see their numbers dwindling...I fear that this ride may be the next defunct coaster at Kings Island. Not sure how many years it's got left but I would really hate to see it go. Somebody needs to preserve this model for future generations of coaster enthusiasts)
    8. Adventure Express (A very solid Arrow Mine Train and my most ridden coaster at the park. I agree that it jerks you around a lot but it just adds to the out of control feeling. As Marc pointed out, it's got good theming and clearly is a knock off of the mine cart chase in Indiana Jones Temple of Doom...strangely enough it was built before paramount acquired the park)
    9. Mystic Timbers (What can I say I'm just not a GCI guy....and mystic Timbers is a prime example of why I don't love them. I don't prefer the violent side to side airtime/transitions and the trains are often uncomfortable. Having said that, I think mystic Timbers is alright but I'm never going to stand in a long line to ride it. Also this ride has the absolute worst ending ever - the shed....like nothing happens!)
    10. Invertigo (So I used to think this was a headbanger but this year it's been running really smoothly... overall boomerangs aren't my favorite models but I have a new appreciation for Invertigo seeing as it is an extremely rare credit and if Kings Island ever decides to remove it I hope that Cedar Fair would relocate it to another park)
    11. Woodstock Express (This is a GREAT kids coaster! Back row has airtime and it's the only coaster at KI with buzz bars! Fun fact, it has the same top speed as Adventure Express)
    12. Backlot Stunt Coaster (I've never cared much for this one. Way too short, kinda shaky, and low capacity. At least KI keeps the special effects working)
    13. Flying Ace Arial Chase (Not good. I thanked God the day my youngest sister hit 48" and we could ride something better than this. I think it's too rough for a kids coaster and is pretty boring)
    14. Great Pumpkin Coaster (My first Coaster! Haven't ridden it in years but I remember I always enjoyed it.... could possibly move ahead of flying Ace if I could borrow a kid and re-ride it)
Once again, Marc, great video and I'm so glad you finally made it to my home park!

    • @johnniehaus6581
      @johnniehaus6581 9 месяцев назад

@@Verdelite I get that the beast isn't everyone's favorite. I think the setting is amazing and other wooden coasters I've ridden at other parks don't offer those speedy straight sections and lateral forces on the turns quite like the beast does. I mean mystic timbers has a wooded setting but the focus is not on long straight sections and speed but rather it focuses on airtime. I mean everyone likes something different so if the beast doesn't wow you, that's ok because there's plenty of other wooden coasters that have different elements

    Not including kid coasters:
    1. Mystic Timbers - I was shocked at how good this ride is. Extremely re-ridable and so smooth. The ejector is fantastic and it's funny how the front row actually gives you more airtime.
    2. Orion - I definitely agree it's underrated, but I still think it is a bit short. Plus, the wave-turn and turn-around fall flat personally. However, everything else is fantastic.
    3. Diamondback - This and Orion are so close but I have to give the edge to Orion because it's a bit more well-rounded, and the drop is much better. However, Diamondback is the best floater airtime machine around. I disagree about the front row, though. Even though there is a rattle, the back is where it's at!
    4. The Beast - Less of a coaster and more of an experience. I love the new updates for the 2022 season as it was much smoother and the drop was much better.
    5. Banshee - My least favorite B&M invert I've ridden but it's still fun. I just prefer more intense rides.
    6. Flight of Fear - I find this ride underrated. I don't find it that rough and it's just pure fun. Plus, having just a lap bar on an indoor looping coaster is fantastic
    7. The Racer - My opinion of this ride changes every time but my ride in 2022 was butter smooth. I got decent airtime as well.
    8. Backlot Stunt Coaster - One of the best family coasters. I love how intense the helix is, and it's just a blast the whole way through
    Honorary #9 - Vortex
    9. The Bat - I've never been a huge fan of this ride and I do not find it as intense as many people say. I always give it a chance when I go but end up disappointed.
    10. Adventure Express - Decent for a mine train and has solid theming. One of the smoother ones as well
    11. Invertigo - I hate this thing. I don't know how people say it's smooth. It beats me up every single time and I end up with a headache. Sure, it's intense, but it's not worth the pain.

    • @johnniehaus6581
      @johnniehaus6581 Год назад

Great explanation and I totally agree with your opinion on Orion. The wave turn would have been much better if it was just a huge camelback with more injector airtime. While I prefer Dback I agree that the floater in the back rows is unrivaled plus I love sticking my arm in the water whenever it sprays up (my sister and I "discovered" that a few years ago and now its tradition. You have to get your arm wet on the splashdown!) I also thought that Invertigo was an awful headbanger until I rode it this year and got a shockingly smooth ride. Will see how it's running in 2023 I guess....

One of the great things about Kings Island is how opinions vary so much on what coasters are or aren't the best at the park. There is a compelling case for at least 4 different coasters at the park to be the best.
Personally I agree with Orion holding the top spot, though rank Diamondback higher at 2 with Mystic Timbers right behind it.

@@CoasterDash Verboten is an amazing coaster but to it's fans, big bad wolf will probably always be irreplaceable. I'm just thinking if Six Flags St Louis ever RMC'd Boss many would see that as a fair trade or even an upgrade but I would still morn the loss of a massive CCI terrain twister. I'm thankful I was able to ride it when it had the double helix finale before that was removed. Same deal if Six Flags Over TX ever took down Shockwave. It could be replaced by any number of "better" coasters that would be viewed as a fair trade or upgrade but nothing is going to ever replace that coaster in the hearts of its fans who still rank it as the #1 in the park. I think the same can be said for Volcano at King's Dominion. It was clearly a very unique ride and well beloved and while they could replace it with something better or of equal value so to speak, can they actually ever replace Volcano in the hearts of its fans? It's hard to compare a new ride vs a beloved ride it replaced because when a ride is removed, an experience is lost forever.

Nice list but to place invertigo above the bat or adventure express is debatable at best. Nobody likes that ride.

Love the channel been following for a while now your intro is always blowing me away for some reason anyways you got to be accurate brother and your love for Orion is seemingly making you twist the truth it's 287 ft tall Orion is not 300 ft tall it is 287 ft and it's the third best coaster in the park behind Mystic Timbers and Diamondback and in summertime at night with no trims, Beast is better also Orion is insanely underwhelming

How tall is the top of the lift hill to the bottom of the drop? And how long of drop is Intimidator 305 and Millenium Forces drop?😂 it’s actually faster and longer than i305 but I guess we’re just going to bitch about the lift hill being 18 feet smaller out of 305 feet when god knows no one would notice any difference if it was 305 feet tall

The 300 ft thing is kinda debatable. You are only 287ft up if standing at the base of the lift hill but if you are standing at the bottom of the first drop the hill would be 300 ft because of terrain difference. My personal opinion on it being overrated is that it's a good ride but isn't unique enough to set it apart from Dback. For example the reason the hyper vs giga works at Cedar Point is because Magnum is an Arrow and Millennium is an Intamin. Magnum is focused on classic airtime and Millennium is a speed coaster with more turns and straight sections. Two great coasters that complement each other very well because they aren't trying to accomplish the same thing. Dback and Orion are unfortunately trying to accomplish the same thing which is a typical smooth, fast, B&M out and back layout with good airtime. Too similar of rides

@@johnniehaus6581 I could care a less if they are kings island has 2 massive coasters far better than anything paramount could give them. That’s what I care about. Fury and Intimidator and Behemoth and Leviathan are the same Danm dynamic. Millennium and Magnum are the only ones that are completely different but I’d be willing to bet if Orion was 13 feet taller with the exact same layout no enthusiast would be complaining

@@JJJJ-he8bz I enjoy both Dback and Orion and the 300ft thing is kinda a stupid thing to debate about. Nobody seems to crap on Phantoms Revenge because its second drop is the 200ft drop that doesn't "stand 200ft" but I've never heard anyone say it's not a real hyper coaster. It definitely counts just as Orion counts as a giga. I will say that it's not millennium Force but that doesn't mean it's bad or deserves hate. On the contrary it's a great coaster that we are lucky to have. How many parks have a hyper and a giga? Not many... Dback is my #1 and Orion is my #3 in the park so clearly I like them both but I'm saying that I wish they weren't as similar as what they are. Can't change the fact now but my point is they had the opportunity to make another great pair that were very different from each other (like Cedar Point did with Millennium and Magnum) and they decided not to do that.....they went with B&M again and got a typical big B&M steel coaster full of solid B&M elements and airtime which is what they already had in Dback.

I've always thought Invertigo was a bad headbanger and usually would only ride it once a year. However, this year I got a pretty smooth ride free of headbanging. I was shocked that I actually enjoyed it!
