    The image of Steel Vengeance still boggles my mind to some extent. It looks like a roller coaster from a cartoon episode with comically intimidating and physically impossible rides. It's this massive wooden and steel behemoth with seemingly impossible angles and elements and I want to ride it so badly.

    Thanks for this video!
    I’m northeast Ohio born and raised. Growing up here, Cedar Point is just something you naturally take for granted.
    Borderline every single person regularly goes with their parents/grandparents when they’re young, then their friend group when they’re teens and up, and eventually with their own kids. Roller coasters have been nothing but fun for me since my first ride as an 8 year old. The notion that people out there find coasters terrifying or particularly exhilarating is such an interesting concept to me. Everyone I know just thinks they’re pure dumb, silly, amazing fun. It’s just what you do with your friends in the summer and again for Halloweekends.
    The older you get the more your realize how special this place is. I’ve yet to encounter another park that can even pretend to hold a candle to “America’s Rockin’ RollerCoast”.
    Ride On!

      I couldn't agree with you more, growing up in northeast ohio as well, we just took for granted what an amazing place Cedar Point was. We kind of just assumed everyone had a place like Cedar Point!! I think it's kind of the same way about people finding coasters scary, growing up on roller coasters i loved them, so i just assumed everyone loved them lol. Anyway I love Cedar Point it will always be the best amusement park ever in my book!!!

      Yes!!! I'm from Akron and we grew up going to Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, and Kennywood. All 3 were great in their own way (R.I.P. Geauga Lake 😥), but Cedar Point was always the best!!!
      Now having traveled to a bunch of parks, Cedar Point still tops the list! My husband grew up with Magic Mountain as his home park, and as awesome as a park as it is, Cedar Point still beats it.
      The best was taking my husband there the first time. He heard all the hype around here and thought there was no way it could be better than Magic Mountain. He now stands corrected 😆😆 and that was before Steel Vengeance! 🤣🤣🤣
      Can't wait to take my kids! They're finally both over 48" and can ride tons of rides now!!!!

    I don't care what anyone says, I loved disaster transport as a kid. It was my favorite thing at the park even after Raptor got built. One of my friends told me that the trains "jumped off the track" and it wasn't until much later in life that I realized what he actually meant, I had no idea how it worked until I was an adult but the feel of it was always my favorite. Glad I was too young to ever notice or care that it was considered a flop.

The people have to completely exit the ride for the employee controlling the ride to dispatch. Go watch Eltoraryan's Problematic Roller Coasters series. I grew up in Detroit, and Cedar Point was basically our summer home. No matter how much we were struggling, my mom and dad made it so we could go at least twice a summer. I remember there was a water ride of sorts where Raptor now stands, and I was about an inch too short. My dad said not to worry, we would ride it together the next summer. We come back next summer, it's gone and there's Raptor... and I was an inch too short. A core memory is my mom having to hold seven year old me back, screaming and crying, as I watched my dad get into the line to ride it. Up until my dad got sick in 2011, we were still going at least once a year, the final time in July of 2011 (didn't know it would be the final trip anywhere with my dad at the time). I wish he could see the videos you make, especially on somewhere so close to our home. I know he would have loved them. Keep doing what you do, you are doing it well.

    It so strange, when you live in Ohio you just go to Ceded Point. Almost every year. But you didn't think back in the 80s and 90s that you are going to land of the coasters. The place where others dream of, or hope, to someday go to. It wasn't until I moved to California that I realized what a lucky kid/young adult I was. Also went to Kings Island every 3 years. I just didn't understand how good I had it. Now I'm actually thinking about just going back for Ceded Point. I miss and really love that place. Thanks for this wonderful piece of film/doc. Have a wonderful summer and to those going to the Point have a blast.

    I'm going to Cedar Point a week from today! So stoked! Its been 13 years since I've been there. Really excited for Steel Vengeance, looks incredible. Unfortunately Dragster will be closed (what's new right), because that lady got hit in the head with a piece of metal that fell off it.

    THE ONE MAN WHO PUT CEDAR POINT ON THE MAP IS RICHARD KINZEL.
    HE STARTED THE COASTER WARS AND WE CAN THANK HIM FOR ALL THE GREAT COASTERS THAT WERE BUILT NOT JUST AT CEDAR POINT BUT EVERY PARK.
    AWESOME VIDEO BRO.
    WORTH THE WAIT.

      There is a big reason the causeway is named after him

    • @hueylongadmirer1829
      @hueylongadmirer1829 2 года назад

      He started the roller coaster wars, yes.......AND HE REGRETTED IT!
      Did you know Dick Kinzel once said that bringing Top Thrill Dragster to Cedar Point was a huge mistake?
      The "Coaster Wars" you mention is the reason why Cedar Point is struggling as an amusement park, and that showed in May when there were lines a million miles long for food, while ride operations were understaffed, and why coasters like Top Thrill Dragster and Maverick frequently break down.

    • @ronscurti1269
      @ronscurti1269 2 года назад +4

      @@hueylongadmirer1829 YES I KNOW WHAT RICHARD KINZEL SAID ABOUT TTD.
      I WORKED RAPTOR IN 94 THE YEAR IT OPENED.
      HE WAS AN AWESOME DUDE.
      AND CEDAR POINT IS IN NO TROUBLE.
      HATERS GONNA HATE.

    Very fortunate to have the point as a home theme park. Anxious to see what kind of coaster they have in store next year and although wicked twister was great when it opened it didn’t age well and was quite jerky in it’s later years.
