Dyson CS is still using this video to answer questions, but it is out of date. The new filters are combo HEPA and Carbon. You have to discard the four pieces (2 purple HEPA sides, 2 green carbon sides) and only install the new 2 piece outer combo filter. Looks like they could have easily explained this in the inserts. It's rather cryptic. Come on, Dyson! We all know how to use simple language, don't have to use pictograms for everything.

Thank You so much Katie for posting this video. You just saved me from slamming my air purifier on the floor. LOL..... I could not figure out why the new filters would Not fit, even after fighting with it.
Your video was so quick and to the point. I felt so stupid...did not realize the filter style had been changed and I had to also take the 2 green filters out. Once I did, the new filters went right in with Ease.
I’m about to throw mine off my balcony why is it so difficult!!
If only it was this easy to put back the two filter holder back in the unit.

I have this Dyson unit they are no longer using the two pieces filters set I order my filters customer service told me they do a combo set now two filters in one I installed my combo filter work great I don't have to replace two filters now pop out old put in new filters in one simple

Check your new filter, it’s probably a new version which is a combination of carbon and glass meaning you need to remove both purple and green (4 pieces total) before installing the new filters (2 pieces)
Can we have a cleaning your machine video? So how often, what tools or products to use and not use? Some of us are Dyson virgins and we just need that extra help with these things 😮
What model is this, guys? I think it's the same as mine. I cannot see the model of mine written anymore... Only serial codes.

You can reset the filter life through the app if connected, under machine settings. You can also use the remote to reset the fi;lter life by holding in the night mode button for 5 seconds, then the timer button for 5 seconds. You'll see a countdown when each are reset. you forgot the most important part. How do you reset it so it shows that you replaced it? It shows its still needs to be replaced?

hey there, just figured this out so if still struggling thought ide help, with the newer model, you hold down the 'nighttime mode' button, which 'resets' it (takes filter down to 0%) hope that helps :)
this is the first time i've changed my filters. in directions i saw, including those wordless ones that came with the filters, it shows that you are supposed to hold down some button and count to 5 for each filter, whatever that means. The HEPA is pressing down on the moon and the Carbon involves pressing down on the directional button, each counting to 5 while holding down. If only there were words, i could tell you what this is for and why this video doesn't say anything about it.
I agree. Dyson is neglectful of it's customers when it comes to instructions.
After you changed your filters you have to put the button with the 2 arrows for 5 seconds and the machine will scan the new filter by a 5 second countdown. It resets the 100%lifespan because of the new filter. It's like resetting the miles on your car
After changing both filters plug in the machine then turn it on. Looking at your remote control find the button that has arrows pointing in opposite directions and the quarter moon button. Press each button down one at a time. The display on the fan will change to start a countdown from 5-4-3-2-1 then a checkmark. Keep pressing until you see the checkmark. This will reset the filter lifespan countdown so the fan will know when you need a new filter.

@@ufconlyfamz69 Very confusing, though, as the instruction leaflet in box that the new filter came in is still for the old two-part filter. It took me ages to figure out.
super confusing; such is life. I actually had to call the Dyson helpline with my model number and they walked me through it step by step. Part of the issue i think is that the models and technology constantly changes. Stay blessed 🙂

We tried putting the replacement DP04 filters back but they are stuck and they are black not purple. Did we get the wrong type? It’s a genuine Dyson DP04 filter but it seems to be really difficult to take out once it’s clicked inside the silver cover. Any suggestions?
surely you can clean the filters? for £60 a pop i'd hope can least clean them a few times before needing new ones... the HEPA filters can be done with a air blaster, see no reason why you'd need to replace those, but what about the carbon filters? any way to clean them?

I have a TP06 model. I pushed the buttons on both sides of the filter cover at the same time but only one side released. I’m unable to get the other side to come off. Can you please advise me? Thank you.

when i changed mine after more than a year (duh), the carbon filters looked the same as new but the HEP filters had a lot of thick dust all over them. i'll change them more often from now on. Unfortunately it's often impossible to get new Dyson parts.

@@Razalghul777 maybe you already live in a dust free environment... I think its normal for the carbon filter (the green one inside) to look the same since its the carbon pieces inside the filter that will trap the polluants

Hello - I just replaced the hepa filter in my dyson machine but it seems too tight to fit. I noticed that the filter Dyson sent me is black, not purple like the original. Is this the wrong filter?
We did redesign the filter, which may be why you're having this issue. Can you let us know which country you're in?

The black is the correct color of the new filter. You will still need to remove both pieces of the previous filter, if you had the older two, 2-piece filters in place. The new one 2-piece filter does the same job with less waste. Having said that, you will still also need to reset the filter life on both filters for the machine to continue to properly work. Strange, my Dyso Purifer filter doesn't come with green inner filter. Now that i saw your video, looks like some missing parts were not included when i purchased the unit.

@@dyson thanks for the quick response. The serial found at the bottom of the unit is: K2A-XD-PEA1134A. And I took the Dyson unit with my Home Fiber Bundle with SingNet from Singtel which is for 24months payments. To be honest as a first time user. I do not know all the stuffs required on this unit. I hope this unit gives 100% air quality without that extra green filter.

Based on your machine's serial number, we see your machine is a TP7A machine, while the video is showing a TP04 machine. Your machine is newer! The filter in your machine is a 2-in-1.

I think i may have the wrong filter for my dyson. I just don't know why this has to be confusing. I register my fan/purifier and bought the filters and they don't seem to fit now. This is why i usually refrain from buying things like this and now have to return these filters. If not so expensive i would throw the entire product in the garbage.

Actually, I had to push the night time button 5 seconds and the two arrow button 5 seconds to reset the purifyer after changing the filters

Can we get a couple of videos on how to CLEAN our fans. We can change the filters everyday and still have dusty insides. We don't need to know how to change the filters. There are so many videos of those already. We want to know how to safely disassemble our fans and get the insides clean.

So my dyson app is showing green in all categories. I don’t trust it. I have a dog. And I put it next to her crate. Still green. Is there anything I can do that is guaranteed to set it off?

Yeah , smoke some weed or cigarettes inside a room. Even when I have my door and windows open my app will detect it and turn red

Changed to new filters and reset it, still shows the carbon filter showing red, full. Redid several times and same results.

@@dyson my serial number...F8F-US-NGA0655A.... returned the last set and got a new set and still having the same problem. The carbon filter on right is still red and showing full. The filter on left is good.

The printed instructions are for the other machines that the filters are compatible with. Note, when replacing the combi filter, the instructions are different for your machine, please reset both the HEPA and the Carbon filter clocks separately, as shown here:

For how long they usually last?
This will depend on how often you use the purifier and the air quality in your area. The machine will inform you when the filter needs replacing. If you use the machine every day for 12 hours, you may need to replace the filter in 12 months.
heavy smoker, mine goes 8-12 months depending on how i maintain, use 24/7 :)
my Dyson purifier does not have the same-looking inner filter. Mine is orange and is one piece.

Dyson was redesigning the filtres, but they didn't tell anyone. They are also sending old instructions with new filtres, causing frustration and irritation among its customers. The product is excellent, but Dyson's communications skills need work.
