So I learned that the black ring around the pump is a magnet. That’s what you’re actually trying to clean. I took out the pump, and put lemon juice on a piece of kitchen towel and wiped that black ring. I saw brown dirt on the kitchen towel so clearly there was some dirt on the pump. I then noticed that the pump attached itself to the base of the water level which I had taken out earlier (which means the base of the water level also has a magnet in it). Long story short, when the pump is clean, the magnet works and that’s part of the technology of the pump. As soon as I put the pump back in and started the clean cycle, it worked! By the way, I found this out on my second attempt because the first time, I only cleaned the pump with water and apparently that wasn’t good enough to get that magnet clean. Thank you so much for this video! I probably would have bought a new humidifier if you hadn’t made the video.

The system was not in use for over a year and when we started it, it went into problem mod.
The propeller cleaning fixed it and now it can smoothly go through the deep cleaning cycle.

I had the same problem and was very nervous about this. Because it was weekend I decided to wait. The clocked stoped at 59:50 … than proceed … than stop at 59:21 … after 2 hours it was on 13 min and running. I think the solution is to wait until the citrus water done the work and the pump becomes online

Thank you for the tip, I tried and it didn't work at first, It was the pump you were right. So I bathed it in lukewarm white vinegar to clear it up (its more efficient when its really warm), I think it was full of tartar... and after that I put It back in the tank, then the clock started to run normally. Keep the machine open while doing that, you should notice a small trickle of water running above in the filter area! top right side! Really really helpful thanks!

Unbelievable! 😮 Yesterday, I got my new PH04 (practically the same model but with Formaldehyde filter) directly from Dyson. The moment I activated the humidifier, I heard a horrifying ratchet-like sound from the water pump. *Every single* source on the internet that reported the same said "you need a new pump" or "get a replacement device". Instead, I just did what you have shown us. Wiped the (clean) swimmer dry, took out the pump's (clean) propeller and also wiped it dry. And it worked! The pump now works fine - and quietly. What is happening here? Why did I have to clean the already clean parts of a BRAND NEW device to make it work? 🤯

I bought the PH04 a week ago and while exploring the features I pressed the deep clean cycle button. So ,probably I started the deep cleaning process accidentally.
Now that button won't turn off and shows 6,7,8 numbers on the water tank on the display.
In your video, I saw the same thing at the end of the video and you said that this means that you should replace the water tank.
Can I just cancel that process now or do I have to complete the deep clean process with citric acid and everything else ?
Hi Yes you can cancel it and run later on with citric acid
How to cancel? I tried holding the deep clean cycle button for 5 seconds but it won't

My Dyson had the same problems after two years (the warranty expired on 21.12.2024). After watching a video and cleaning the pump, it’s working again. I already thought I’d have to buy a new pump unit for €99. Even though Dyson says you can use tap water, I’d avoid it. Better use filtered water (Brita or other brands offer water filters).

I hope it permanently worked for me because it asked me to put fresh water in my basin after I did what you did in this video and now is up and running for longer than 5 seconds. If it lasts longer than a day, I'll have hope.

you need new water pump, avoid this issue please change water regularly before algae stop the pump :)

Are you supposed to hear any noises or see anything happen when it deep cleans? Mine is pure silent when it runs.
Not on my was no any noises means pump was not working

None of these tips are working. That must mean my pump is broken.
You can order a pump unit. Here in germany it costs 99 €.
Is anyone having an issue where the image is showing you haven't closed the water reservoir closed properly?
This error occured midway while it was on. I opened and closed it several times but now nothing is coming on until it its closed shut.. Which it is 😢😢😢😢

Humidifier is running, but my water level is not decreasing. Humidity is on 25-30% and it’s not going higher. Is there anyone who has the same issue?
