    I have the older version with the removable lid and at least when I'm searing something I think the newer design is more cumbersome as it seems like the lid would always be in the way.

  • @jaxthename
    @jaxthename Год назад +1

    The lid is held to the main body with a plastic connector which unfortunately breaks very easily. You would think that for the price of the machine this part would have been a lot more robust. Nevertheless it’s a good appliance and I might buy a replacement or I might choose another brand.

    I have one of these and it keeps saying 'lid not sealed' even though I have changed nothing about how I use it. Annoyingly it doesn't tell you this until the pressure has been building for about 10 minutes. There is no advice in the user manual about how to fix this problem, although it must be a common problem if the error message exists on the machine. I would not recommend it.

    Can you tell me please, is there any aluminum in the body or the inner lid?

    • @SageAppliances
      @SageAppliances  6 лет назад

      The pot is aluminum with a food grade safe non-stick coating. All parts/components that come into contact with food/liquid are food grade safe in ALL Sage products.

      @justyna365 5 лет назад +1

      @@SageAppliances come on we all know that this food grade term is a bullshit. This is not healthy. You should use SS otherwise no way to buy this. Aluminium in 2018, really?

    I love this, have had it for years. but this "30 mins later" is misleading, it takes additional 30 mins to preheat and build up pressure :D

      True, don't buy this. My 3 year old bosch autocook pro completes the whole meal in the time that this device is still preheating. It was a waste of my money and after cooking 2 times with it, decided to give it away since I use pressure cooking to save time. But with this device it's just too slow. Nice looks but it can't compete with other devices in terms of speed. I can recommend the Bosch autocook pro, much better. Also has more functionalities.

      +Sage Appliances I hope Sage UK customer service is better than Breville UK;s as I had an absolutely abysmal experience with their customer service department when my slow cooker (the one with the glass bowl and blue lighting) blew up in a flash and a puff of smoke within nine months of purchasing it. Breville UK would not honour the guarantee claiming that the manufacturing date was the date that the guarantee started from and not the purchase date. I had used the slow cooker according to the manual (I'm an experienced cook and long time slow cooker user) and it fizzled out after less than a dozen uses. Breville wanted 70% of the original purchase price to provide a replacement. Two minutes later, the Breville slow cooker was in the trash and I went back to my old £15 slow cooker from Tesco which still works faultlessly 15 years after I bought it.
      So, buyer beware, much as I love the look of Sage appliances, I would think carefully about the level of customer care you would receive should the product develop a fault. I won't buy Breville again after my experience, unfortunately...

      @@SageAppliances he problem with this thing is that it is too tall and narrow it would be much better if it had a wide bottom, it would take forever to truly sear meat(both/all sides) in the bottom of this thing , it is a great concept i hope they make a short wide version of it in the future
      maybe even alexa anabled

    I have been researching electric pressure cookers for the last 10 days and looking into each companies warranty. I found out that Amazon offers an extended electrical appliance warranty through Assurant for up to 4 years. The extended warranty kicks in after the 1 year manufacturer's warranty expires. It seems like a really good deal. Anyway, I called, Breville's customer service today after I read Invy Ism's comment on his troubles. I was trying to decide which pressure cooker company to go with. I called Brevilles' customer service today and mentioned the You Tube comment and that I was concerned about it. The lady told me that customers must keep their proof of purchase receipt and or give them a copy of a bank statement or credit card showing the date of purchase. The customer service rep said, even if the batch code or manufacturing code was older it would not matter. That they do go off the date you purchased the product. So the take home message is keep your proof of purchase receipt in a folder. Or dig out your credit card statement with the date of purchase and e-mail it to customer service to prove when you purchased it. Breville's customer service department answered my question concerning the comment made by Invy Ism. If you used your debit or credit card find a statement to show that it is inside the 1 year warranty. :-) I found the customer service department to be very helpful and I no longer have any anxiety about purchasing the Breville fast and slow pro.

      I purchased the Fissler Vitaquick 8 quart stove top pressure cooker and the Breville fast and slow. (I am very happy I got the 8 quart for my wife and I. ) I love my stove top Fissler 8 quart because it comes to pressure in 3 to 4 minutes even when 3/4ths full. My Breville takes 35 minutes to come to full pressure whether it has the minimum amount of food or whether it is 3/4ths full. Now that I have two pressure cookers I use them both everyday when I make dinner. For example, I will pressure cooke spaghetti squash in my Breville while I cook a pork butt in my Fissler Vitaquick. It works out well timing wise. I use my Fissler the most because it comes to pressure faster and I can be done quickly. I also like how easy the Fissler is to clean up. But I like both and I use both every day. Why do I like both? Because I can set the Breville and forget it while I cook something else in my pressure cooker on my stove top. And I can use my Breville as a slow cooker when I am out and about. I also like that the Breville does automatic steam release for me. So I can be busy cooking on the stove top and I don't have to release it. Or I can be doing laundry. I love both. I hope this helps. Hands down my favorite things in my kitchen are my pressure cookers and my Vitamix blender. I can't live with out them. My All Clad pans are now collecting dust in my garage. I think I'll sell them on ebay. Ha ha. I absolutely love using my pressure cookers.

    This is a nice cooker but the inner bowl has a cheap 'non-stick' (although it sticks) pot that CAN NOT BE REPLACED. The company does not maintain stock of spares - you will need a replacement after several months use SO BUYER BEWARE. I will never buy the Sage brand again.
