  • Taken from a 4K scan of a British 35mm print of Hellraiser (1987), making this one of the very first uses of the logo, and unlike other DVD sourced uploads of this logo, it has the EIV music! Interestingly it plasters the New World Pictures logo...

You got a new suscriber here!❤
I think that this EFD is a huge improvement over the previous Entertainment logo (fanfares are not enough to make me like your logo), and even considering this comes from the mid-80s, the CGI still impresses for being a unique logo, even holding up for today, I believe (personally, not a fan of the new logos).
Although, this raises the question. Which film release would make the first use of the CGI "F" logo? I was theorizing that it was not premiered in 1987, but actually 1986. I don't think Entertainment was thinking as a profitable betting to premiere this in the sequel of House (which was released in February of 1987, three months before Hellraiser in the UK), and the earliest with this logo is the release of New World's Jake Speed, in May of 1986, which has the new logo printed in the poster. But... even if more proof is needed, at least the graphic story of this enterprise is being built. We can define 1987 as a confirmed year for this logo.
Finally, I still wonder how I got the EFD logo because I got it from the Spanish VHS release of "House 2", which is a telecine of the 35mm rolls of the film release in Spain. It's not too common to see Spanish film distributors acquiring films from other film distributors around the world (or maintaining their logos, if anything).

Thank you! The first EFD logo is pretty lackluster, very 70's. And this is solid CG to be spent by a mid-level distributor at the time. That House 2 VHS find is amazing though. How surreal within a day, two prints of the EFD logo (with music, and not a fan reconstruction like the other videos in the past on here) from the year it debuted no less, would pop up lol.

Uhh... the EIV fanfare is out of sync.
