I saw it at an ABC Cinema in May/June 1984. Thanks for the trip down memory lane --- not that I remember much of it.

When I saw this on its original run at the ABC Falkirk, they had the trailer for Top Secret (the poster for that movie mimicking the Temple of Doom publicity by substituting Val Kilmer for Harrison Ford and replacing "The Hero Is Back" with "The Hero Is A Berk").

Neat work so far! Just have only a few suggestions for future reels, post-July or whenever the schedule isn't too packed--
Salvador (1986), released circa July '87
    Bloodsport (1988), released July '88
Night of the Creeps (1986), released circa Nov '86
    We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story (1993), released May '94
    👍

Splash is wet 'n' witty with Tom Hanks and John Candy having cracking comical chemistry. Daryl Hannah on feisty 'n' fishy form for sure, too.😘
The third ST adventure also works for me despite this one being an odd numbered entry in the final frontier franchise.
RTS will always be the film my dad, my brother and I opted to see when we were denied access to Exterminator 2 one Saturday afternoon. I believe I was only 11 and my brother only 8 at the time so that might've had something to do with it?😊😉

i do like these old cinema reels. i was about 10 when this film came out so remember the old style cinemas in town centres with 2 or 3 screens. not the 20 screen multiplexes we have now. i liked the frankies s.r.b. advert though those hot dogs looked a bit minging though.

The butchered British cut. 😂😂 It's still sad to me that we had to wait 28 years for the full version.

      Hi
No it was not just the heart been pulled out that was cut
The bbfc (James ferman) tone down the fighting reducing the sound the punches so they were low in mix
Also some of the language was toned down
The bbfc at the time were considering given it a uncut certificate 18 which would have effected the box office sales so the producers of the film made cuts to the film so bbfc would pass it PG
Even in a America it had problems so they introduced a new certificate PG13
Many people believe that's why the next Indiana Jones film went for a much more lighter tone
It's crazy to think we hat to wait for 20 odd years before it was released uncut with a 12 certificate
The 1980s was a bad time for film censorship especially (James ferman) who completely lost the plot at the bbfc

There was a lot cut out for the UK release: the sacrifice sequence obviously, the scene where Indy is tortured and made to drink the blood of the Kali (including shots of Short Round being beaten) the fight sequence with Pat Roach (as the Thuggee Guard) was trimmed in various places (removing things like when Indy gets punched in the chest), and a couple of quick shots of the alligator feeding frenzy during the confrontation at the end.

My least fave of Indy's '80s efforts.
Just a touch too dark in tone for me tbh.😞
