this works on all legends, all platforms, doing this repeatedly down a long slope builds up a lot of momentum to the point where it is much faster than slide jumping down a slope
@@Bluestone0001 well obviously slide jump down it, either way it’s faster than that and uhhh yeah i had people asking me if going down slopes with it worked on all legends so idk
the melee seems to have added something to the movement. i saw a video just now that you can melee a wall after a wall jump and still keep your momentum
You could melee the ground and keep your momentum but it has been a while since it was fixed. But punching walls to keep the momentum remains the same.
They keep patching stuff out and people keep discovering new stuff. It's good that people are only discovering new stuff when old stuff gets patched out
@GOATMANDY at least warzone has relatively simple gameplay which you can easily imporve on and take to other games. In apex, every other day some stupid bug comes out that lets people do dumb shit like tap strafing, super gliding, punch boosting etc.
I've actually been using this since the beginning of the season. It's quite neat and I never knew what to use it for. It also works against enemies which can be useful in some cases I guess
ive been doing variations of it since about season 4 i would slide and punch a wall for some xtra speed but its more efective now and works realy good with octane and helps a lot with Caustic and Gibraltar
If this was intended, It's beautiful from the devs. If this is a bug, I hope it's doesn't get patched because it's not gamebreaking and it really takes time and skill to get used to and master. Apex Legends IMO has some of the best movement tech for an FPS game and this new feature really shows it.
My mate made a good point that it will as it just completely shifts how fast you can navigate maps. It would be a real shame if it does. First time I tried it I was just giggling maniacally from the sheer silliness of it, tons of fun.
@@catmungandr yeah I saw a video of someone having his 2 teammates push him while he holds back and he flew pretty far back. So it probably will get patched. But hopefully Respawn implements something similar but not so crazy into the game to compensate for it getting patch.
It probably wasn't intended and will get patched out if it gets as prominent as tap strafing, but someone like MokeySniper will discover a new tech and that will last for a while
tried it on console you can do it while standing if you crouch right after punching and you also can do it on a jumpad to go backwards kinda useless on a pad though.also while standing or crouching punching someone for a quick retreat same after jumping on pad. thanks for the tip it's the perfect counter to someone trying to punch you out.
Punching the jump pad has been a known method for a while, it's used to jump in a certain direction when you don't have the space (or time) for a run up. Simply punch+movement key in direction you want to go, whether you are crouching will decide whether you do the high jump or long jump.
Hey! Perhaps it will be strange in question, but how did you add the text with statistics that is in the upper left corner. Where the first line displays your name. I think he spoke lucidly.
Pretty nice with Pathfinder, giving him an extra backwards boost to immediately slingshot back where you came from. Great trick for baiting enemies. And on Valk this works awesome too to kick her back out and then just activating your rocketbag for even more momentum 💪
@@prmzzzttv7573 There is really no need to clip this. This technique is pretty easy to learn. Nothing advanced about it to kickslide backwards and connecting pathfinder with an obstacle in your fov. Same thing with Valk. It is as if you would fly backwards from her bormal standing stance. Just the beneficial addition of the kickslide velocity.
You don’t need to start in crouch. I’m running into wall standing. Melee that wall and you can do back jump slide inputs to get a noticeable speed boost. I’m using wraith and crouch on hold.
Seeing all these movement techniques being discovered, while I'm here trying to play casually every other day or so without having to deal with people that will just vanish into thin air then jump on my head and shotgun right in my face
It works on the water in the new map. You can repeatedly melee the water surface and zip across the entire length while crouched. All the enemy can see is basically half a body moving across the water at full slide speed.
So this is what i saw that gibby doing two days ago in apex moments video. He did it like 4 times down a hill chasing another guy and built up insane speed
You can also kinda do the opposite, you can jump and then melee doing the kick or whatever each heirloom does (I dont have any) and then slide as you are hitting the ground and it will slide you in the opposite direction you kicked i think it slides a little bit more than a regular slide but idk
Bro yes but we casual players can never remember these techniques in the heat of the fight... We don't even remember to use wall jump and tap strafe in the fight... The only time we remember to do it is when both your teammates are dead and watching you and you are on your way to respawn them... I just played with a wraith who kept doing this. I noticed she just kept punching the ground, also got kills and damage first and kinda sorta lost us the game because I was playing catch up instead of shoot the other team. It really came to me not clutching but i still hate playing catch up

Been playing this game since day one and am honestly baffled that new movement mechanics are still being discovered. Apex is GOAT
Now I know why I kept slipping off roofs whenever I try to punch my teammates off.

I always use it, how strange that it has been found recently
Lmao my firing range playtime became a new movement tech now
This trick will work on any floor/ground or wall with a higher elevation then your feet, chaining these down a hill will give you massive speed

I can say I just figured out how to fly and everyone and their grandmother will say they have been doing it.
Apex's movement evolution is one of the reasons that this game is so fun
Best way to destory a door and hide to prepare a attack
looks like the mobility isn't quite significant, but it can be useful behind cover since you can stay crouch the whole time while doing this

@Also Gaming Merchant if use a speed boost like octane stim or bloodhounds ultimate it gives you even more distance and speed.

only downside i see is having to holster my weapon meaning i won’t be able to shoot until i pull it back out
