Kept quiet the whole way. Had the loudest finish. Hope he keeps the belt for a long time, he's arguably the best role model in British combat sports hope he gets an even bigger spotlight than he has already.

It's a shame mixed martial arts isn't recognized in the British media like boxing is. It's not more brutal or damaging than boxing, boxing is actually way worse for your body. But someone like Leon would never get mentioned for Sports Personality of the Year or anything like that when based on the sporting achievement definitely should.

Good guy deserves more credit and recognition, welterweight is a hard division
Leon and his team spotted a weakness and drilled that kick for the whole camp.
Leon sat on it, was going to be 4-1 down and then used it for the first time with one minute to go. Wow. That is “written in the stars” type of stuff. Incredible.
He's a great champion. Such a humble dude.
I wasn't happy in ages, but I was happy seeing him win that fight. Rarely I'm happy for other ppl, but this was dream come true
I was so happy for him when he won. Covington in Usman Are my two favorite fighters but damn Leon has been through so much crap and it was such a amazing thing to witness.

He's the champ we needed
Glad Leon is finally getting all the credit that he deserves. Alot of people wrote him off but alot of us knew that he was going to be champion one day. Hopefully he can avenge them sly punches that Masvidal gave him.
That's a fight that right now it'd be hard to make because he's on a three fight losing streak. My career's doing this and his careers doing that, so for it to make sense it'd be hard. But that's a fight that's going to happen either on the street or in octagon. Preferably in octagon to get paid, but if not, I'll see him. That's a fight that's going to happen for sure.

Im really glad Edwards won and the KO was great! However, he’s lost once to Usman and was about to lose a second time so…I do hope Edwards wins the trilogy
The second fight was also at a crazy elevation that heavily favored Usman, so the third one will probably be a lot better for Leon. Especially after seeing how that grappling in the first round went.

yup and it is possible that leon has sickle cell, which would explain why he is affected more by altitude than usman. in nigeria 1-3 in 100 have sickle cell, while in jamaica 1 in 10 has sickle cell anemia.
