Great tutorial.I’ve leaned a lot from watching you videos. After watching this particular tutorial. I’ll go out and get me one of this 320. Thank you Steve.
I have a Massachusetts Oil burner license. I’m about to start using it after having it sitting in my wallet for 4 years. Your videos have been a huge source. Thanks
Aaand so I got myself a Testo 320! You got me convinced Steve, which means You know exactly what You're talking about and are 100% correct. This meter is extremely necessary in order to know what takes place, to justify our work and to be able to be honest with our customers. Thank You Steve!
Steve great tutorial. After watching this video I'm pretty confident I can handle this equipment. Can't wait for heating season to officially begin so I can use it.
Hey Steve just want to thank you for the valuable service you're doing I also am a one man show hoping to get my son up to speed. I just used my testo 320 today what a time saver I'm now able to dial in a oil burner with continuous monitoring what a time saver. I read your comment that they never gave you anything I thought you were their chief marketing executive just ordered the testo 550 I found that trutest tools had the best priced keep the videos coming and about those trolls fugit about it 👍👍👍
Hello, I work at Bell Simons. We sell alot of the 320s, great combustion analyser. Thanks for the video. The o2 sensors have a shelf life, they deteriorate. I'd still keep a Bacharach wet kit as a back up for oil.
Awesome video Steve. Thank you very much for the info. I'm going to get to know my 320 at home on my own furnace before I use it on a customers. It was great to see those cheat sheets, I'm going to copy down the info and keep some in my case also. Charles
hannarye if you have any questons just call me charles ,maybe i might know the answers ,there is so much this meter can do . i only use a small part of the meter .good luck with it
Appreciate you making this video Steven!!! Can you share some of your other "cheat sheets" with us for hydronics, A/C, resistance on thermocouples, hot suface ignitors, etc.. Whatever you have. Those sheets are great!!!
Fantastic video Steve that video was so helpful and thank you for taking the time to make it. I just posted my first print out on Google+ with the test 320
Steve great video,Watching this vid i noticed you use brass plugs on high-efficency gas equipment. Be careful with that the PH in condensing boilers and furnaces is very low and would dissolve that brass plug in no time...
G66CA i have hurd some guys use white duct tape ,i have hurd some guys use white electriacal tape.am still up in the air with what to use .i might go with galvanised plugs . thats what the heat exchanger is made out of.i do have both white duct tape and elecrtical tape in truck, also a lot of the guys that studyed under jim davis use white electrical tape .and jim davis is suppost to be the best guy out there.for combustion
Hello, thank you for the video, do you know how to change the cells of the Testo 310. Disassembly is probably done by removing the large rubber casing which surrounds the device. Do you have your own process?
I own a Bacharach fyrite60. Cheap but it gets the job done. The 320 looks like a nice price of equipment. I might have to upgrade. Thanks for all you do, love your vids.
Great video, Steve. I bought a testo 320 after watching you work with it. Love it! Have you done any combustion tests with wall hung high efficiency condensing gas boilers? Baxi, Viessmann, NTI, Weil McLain, munchkin, etc. I install Viessmann boilers. Love them. Super quiet. Heats water via outside temperature sensor. The Combos keep up with domestic hot water for a family of 4. No problem. I’d like to see a video of you doing a combustion test on one of these boilers. Unlike CT, Massachusetts has no license or schooling on heating. It’s the unlicensed trade, and with these boilers r becoming more and more popular with most plumbers calling the reps of the boiler purchased to help solve issues, or walking away and not repairing them after install.
Thanks for sharing your info. I was looking at the 320 or the 330 Testo to add to my line up....OMG $$$ haha... Like you said its a must have. It would be nice to also print a copy for my records if I'm shutting down a bad unit. No questions = No BS. You know C.Y.A. haha Thanks again Chad,
I'm trying to understand how you determine that a heat exchanger is bad. Did I hear right that when the blower comes on, the co2 inside the heat exchanger will go up if there is a cracked heat exchanger? If so, why does it do that?
+SaintWilliamIII you run the unit till the ox stablizes then unplug the fan wait a bit then plug fan back in and watch ox to see if it changes if the heat exchanger is cracked the 0x will change or go up ect thats the only real way to check a heat exchanger properly
Steven, I have a Buderus and Biasi (oil fired units with Riello heads). I don't think either was officially "tuned in" besides factory settings, what do you think about the Testo 310 for a homeowner? It's about $600, may pay for itself after a couple years vs hiring someone to do it.
Hey Steve wanted to ask you a question I want to buy a combustion analyzer I was thinking about getting the testo 310 I want the 320 just don't know if I can drop a grand right now do you know if that would do the job or should I just wait and get the 320? Thanks Steve
Ok I have a buddy that's gonna let me use his Testo 310 cause he just got the 320 so I'm gonna use that until I buy my 320 so atleast I have something for now but thanks for answering me Steve really appreciate it
Kenny Hutch yes the testo 320 can be used as a duel port manomiter you have to get a attachment and remove the main connection to get the second port hocked up most people just use a duel port manomiter its faster and easyer. but you can use the testo 320 if you want to
hey steve, do you know how to change the profile on the cpu software? its easy to do on the the 320 itself but i cant seem to change it from the computer.
Robert Doherty i bought mine from true tech tools and they propgramed it in there for me before it was sent to me maybe call them and ask,or testo might be able to help you
