SCP 606 wants to enlighten you. SCP 049 wants to cure you. SCP 999 wants to tickle you. Makes me wonder what other questionable things SCPs want to do to us!
Im sure we can assume the collective cognition of human libido has caused a hentai tentacle monster to form into existence on more than one occasion. We can only assume the foundation incinerates them due recreational injuries and lack of any educational value
This is totally misclassified. Anything that they don't know how to contain with high risk of escaping is considered Keter. Anything they don't fully understand how to contain with a potential risk of breaking containment is Euclid. By no definition is this Euclid since it can leave whenever it wants and they don't know how long the protocols will keep it, it's the epitome of Keter. I really like it though.
It itself stated that it has total will over its state of containment. the only reason this is Euclid is because the foundation doesn't know when or why it would breach containment, which makes Euclid and not Keter.
I thought that the Safe/Contained/Neutralized/Euclid/Keter, classifications were based on the danger a particular SCP posed to humanity. Safe = An anomalous object posing very little or no threat to humans/humanity. Contained = An anomalous object currently and reliably contained by the foundation. Neutralized = An anomalous object that has been rid of it's "unusual" properties by whatever means. Euclid = an anomalous object that can do significant damage to humanity if left unchecked. Keter = An anomalous object capable of human extinction if left unchecked, or triggered by a specific event. It could choose to leave and try to "enlighten" the world by killing everyone it meets, causing a great deal of chaos (but not extinction lvls). Thought, it's choice to stay isn't entirely benign as the sceptical Doctor put it. I don't think it actually tries to educate anyone, it steals knowledge from those it interacts with. It's a leech that feeds on the mind, and after it's done, the body can't cope without anything going on upstairs and goes into seizures/convulsions, and dies. The temptation of great knowledge is the lure it uses to entice it's victims, and only stays with the foundation because being fed is easier than hunting. Or he's waiting for someone at the foundation to slip up. I don't know, this one is kinda weird. I guess I would file it as Euclid, but you never know what nefarious agenda it might have. Possibly Keter.
ᔕTᗩYᑎIᖴTY The object classes are supposed to be indicative of the ease of containment of any SCP. Safe means you can put it in a box and never worry about it again, Euclid means that you can put it in a box and (though you're not sure exactly how) it will get out of the box eventually (though for the most part it is reliably contained), and Keter means that you can put it in a box but it will definitely break out of the box and probably rampage across the earth (there is no reliable method of containment).
@@johnnyblack2652 Ah, I understand now. Thank you good sir. I was always a little confused as to the meaning behind the classifications, and I guess my brain took the subject material and ran away with it.
@@stayniftyGuyFaceMannPersonDude The only issue with that hypothesis is that victims of 606's "teachings" have vastly increased brain activity. What is clearly going on, from my vantage point, is that the Human brain can store somewhere along the lines of information equivalent to about 6 billion pages of written word. A good chunk of this information is dedicated to simply running our internal organs: something along the lines of an Operating system installed in our brain that probably takes up about 1Billion pages. Next you have the secondary required information the brain processes on a normal basis; i.e. language, how to balance and actually walk, all motors skills, etc. and figure that information takes up another 1B pages (It's a LOT more complicated, running a human body than one is ever likely to understand), leaving something like 4 Billion pages of information that can be freely overwritten without disrupting the system. when 606 is trying to teach someone, it is probably trying to directly download at minimum 10 GB of information directly into our head. Since we don't have storage space for 10GB, it tries to reformat the brain, effectively erasing the operating system in order to gain more room to store info, leading to a complete crash of the system, causing a coma, and death as the brain fails to regulate any system because it simply doesn't know how to do it anymore.

Common Core State Standards Initiative The Common Core State Standards Initiative is an educational initiative from 2010 that details what K-12 students throughout the United States should know in English language arts and mathematics at the conclusion of each school grade. The initiative is sponsored by the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers and seeks to establish consistent educational standards across the states as well as ensure that students graduating from high school are prepared to enter credit-bearing courses at two- or four-year college programs or to enter the workforce. Is it this?
dAM sON It must be that; I can't think of anything else that it might be, especially considering that it relates to education. I wouldn't know, though, since I am not American.
I think this is a form of knowledge without wisdom. Let me explain, it is a being that, despite having gathered much knowledge still willingly went with the SCP foundation despite knowing what they could potentially do to it. And it also has gone to enlighten people who drop dead yet continues to do so not learning from its own actions. It learns but doesnt seem to have much substance behind it.
I always wondered why Foundation efforts for this SCP weren't geared towards producing a vessel that is "adequate" for enlightenment. They have access to a humanity failsafe in Yellowstone that can produce any and all possible forms of human, and robotics that outstrip modern humanity's technology, and can produce AIs capable of understanding both. They could theoretically provide an adequate human, or an adequate Robotic AI and have it enlightened with the goal of teaching them what 606 knows indirectly.
Nightwind292 I don’t think that would be wise, as not only would SCP-606 get the knowledge of the subjected SCP and well as the SCP’s knowledge (assuming it’s not just trying to ether kill people or uses the excuse of “teaching” to steal the processing power and synaptic contents of its “students” brains to add to its own collective “knowledge”) there is a potential chance that the SCP survives, *IF* it were to become “enlightened”, then not only will we have an SCP we cannot kill but, an SCP that could become a SCP-[original #]-606-1, and we would start going into categorizing it as “Above Ketter” class with that shite.
+Nemo d'Tresa Hey, even that stuff would be included, even if it's not intellectual, it's still information. Information that you previously didn't know about.
For once my tired af brain has a good thought. What if we put The Teacher and God in the same room? You have The Teacher who has too much knowledge for someone to obtain and you have God who also has seeminly infinite wisdom.
I wish this SCP was my teacher. This SCP is definitely in my top ten. It makes me ask so many questions. I love when SCP's are so different than what were used to. Cosmic SCP's are the best. Lovecraftian Eldritch Horrors. Rapture SCP's are great too. Scarlet king, Cain, Abel, The gate guardian 001, There are more most likely I just can't remember their name.
This is a bit of a nerd-stretch (but seeing as other, clearly Lovecraftian creatures exist in the SCP world this may not be a stretch) but 606 could possibly be a wayward orb that was once attached to Yog-Sothoth who is also described as a keeper of knowledge. Quote: "...Only a congeries of iridescent globes, yet stupendous in it's malign suggestiveness".
I doubt it will die to 606, considering 682 is always described as extremely intelligent, which will only feed it knowledge about humanity (which actually wouldn't be that useful, considering the amount of time 606 could've been learning information about HUMANITY, something 682 couldn't care less about.)
This is an interesting concept. If the creature could be persuaded to try and gradually expand a human mind's capacity and functioning instead of transferring all purveyed data at once this could be the key to ultimate human evolution.
I wonder if it could be utilized to neutralize other SCP's. Like shy guy. Who would probably be invulnerable to death, but would have its nature completely rewritten. Maybe.
I'd love to see the interaction between SCP-606 and SCP-1504. If SCP-606 is truly smart enough, then it will understand what SCP-1504 actually says and realize the true consequences of his actions. SCP-606 will also be able to enlighten SCP-1504 without killing him, as he is immortal. This, however, would likely make SCP-1504 far more dangerous if he was not placated by having someone to talk to and who would understand him.
I’ve been wondering why TOC has been in my history class for several school years. Where did my teacher go. He’s here well I hope he feels better. Now that there’s no grade 12 breaking ceiling and throwing chairs around.

I like how, in the end, he sort of said that we needed to die horrible, painful deaths.
Don't know about you but I consider him Apollyon.
That brings a new meaning to Knowledge is Power.
Anyone remember the scene from Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull? How the lady perished in the end by taking in too much knowledge?
I don't know If this is a spoiler or an encouragement to watch Crystal Skull. Either way, bad commenter... bad!
Imagine how sad or angry it would become to find out that humans have destroyed valuable information in the past making it forever lost
Wonder how it would mark my test
*shrugs
This is a bit of a nerd-stretch (but seeing as other, clearly Lovecraftian creatures exist in the SCP world this may not be a stretch) but 606 could possibly be a wayward orb that was once attached to Yog-Sothoth who is also described as a keeper of knowledge. Quote: "...Only a congeries of iridescent globes, yet stupendous in it's malign suggestiveness".
Good afternoon
Everyone
I is real human toooooooo-
Oo
(Edit: only making fun of the timing between phrases)
This is beautiful
"My brain is still in recovery mode from taking in all of these high level ideas"

HipsterAnimeLover2000~Maybe lol!
I love these videos! You have to do a Apolloyn class one day
Couldn't this theoretically be used to kill Scp-682? Although if it survived the encounter, the knowledge it would gain may be catastrophic...
I doubt it will die to 606, considering 682 is always described as extremely intelligent, which will only feed it knowledge about humanity (which actually wouldn't be that useful, considering the amount of time 606 could've been learning information about HUMANITY, something 682 couldn't care less about.)
Hunter, the multitude of creatures you have synthesized would cry out in thanks
If they could
OMG ITS -BALDI- THE TEACHER
You know what they say, Knowledge is power.
SCP-606: Average Rick and Morty Fan
Ohhh! I absolutely love the voice of SCP- 606!
i stumbled upon your site and Im hooked its almost like real live X-files
It doesn’t want to play 50 questions when it can just enlighten you and answer every question ever in 5 minutes or less.
Imagine if it 'enlightened' SCP-343 and he simply proceeded to raise a thoughtful eyebrow while stating, "I never looked at it that way before."
This thing would be terrifying with other scps
This is an interesting concept. If the creature could be persuaded to try and gradually expand a human mind's capacity and functioning instead of transferring all purveyed data at once this could be the key to ultimate human evolution.
-SCP-606, can I ask you a question?
-[I don't know, can you?]
I'm SCP-606, I love books
And this foundation
Is a true treasure trove
Knowledge is UNLIMITED POWER
606's tone voice gave me the willies
The Teacher. Enlightenment. Reminds me of The Thinker.
Personnally I think Euclid class app's tend to be more consistently well written
I wonder what would happen if SCP-606 were to "enlighten" an immortal or one with self-regenerating attributes.
This would fit surprisingly well into a D&D campaign.
I wonder if it could be utilized to neutralize other SCP's. Like shy guy. Who would probably be invulnerable to death, but would have its nature completely rewritten. Maybe.
I almost want to see the result of it attempting to enlighten SCP-682. It could either go extremely well or horribly, horribly wrong
That was a creepy voice. Well done.
I really like these SCPs that are willingly in foundation custody but are able to breach containment at any time if they wished.
Doctor: How old are you?
606: Old enough~ 😘
I feel like this is stealing all knowledge instead of giving, like those anti-entropy entities
Huh, that's a pretty weird reading light
I’ve been wondering why TOC has been in my history class for several school years. Where did my teacher go. He’s here well I hope he feels better. Now that there’s no grade 12 breaking ceiling and throwing chairs around.
A NOTE FOR DE. BRIGHT CONCERNING SCP 606: Please refrain from sending junior researchers to SCP 606's chamber under the ruse of being a "helpful study partner"
Knowledge is power.
