Hey! With the splitter it would normally be on a different monitor or TV ruclips.net/video/DpQt7TJ8Edw/видео.html You can see gameplay through OBS but it can be laggy so a separate screen or TV for gameplay is always recommended :)
I've got a question, can you record/stream your switch gameplay but still play on your main monitor without having to play with the ms delay the capture card brings?
Hey - so yep, you can by using an HDMI splitter - some cards like the Elgato come with an HDMI output, cheaper ones don't ruclips.net/video/DpQt7TJ8Edw/видео.html
It's mainly a power issue unfortunately, it's fine plugging a USB 2 device into a USB 3, but the other way round may see some issues. In this case I may be cautious and try purchasing a USB2 card - which should be fine really!
Thanks! Ya pretty much - the difference is so so so small - colours and very small resolution differences but ya, the cheaper one is the way to go for those starting to stream and you can even get a spare incase it breaks haha!
If I want a capture card solely for the purpose of use my Laptop as a portable monitor and to stream on Discord, should it work fine? Or should I go for more expensive ones?
@@nemai9 That's sweet! Ya it should do the trick :) Note that there might be some input lag on controllers - I would recommend a second screen for that (or TV) for watching the gamplay if so
Question, I want to get the cheaper capture card for Christmas, Is it possible to use it to stream on applications such as discord? I want to be able to stream my "epic" roguelike skills to my friends!
Hey! Yep yep :) You can do a screenshare from what you're seeing on OBS :) Obs has an option to open your preview in a separate window - then use OBS to point to that
I do have a hdmi spliter that has 3 hdmi ports but I think I'm probably just better off unplugging the hdmi cable from my switch and ps4 and plugging it into the capture card
@@gamingwithjoseph714 Capture cards shouldn't really impact too much on gameplay at all really :) If you watch the gameplay through OBS directly there might be a teeny bit of lag - so I always recommend an HDMI splitter to the TV/second screen
It only works with an HDMI output - so it would need to be docked *unless* your adaptor has the same functionality as the dock (e.g. outputs a picture to HDMI)
(Edit: Never mind, whenever I have a question like this, I find the next video of yours that answers it hahaha) "if I want it desplayed on a TV at the same time" What exactly is meant by that? If I use the normal capture card and plug it only into my PC, will I not see the game on the PC? Or not on the console either? I thought it would show up like any other game I play on my PC, in like a window or at least entirely on one screen or smth. I am not sure how this will work 🤔
Haha yep! No worries - for anyone reading this comment, the video link for hdmi splitter is: ruclips.net/video/DpQt7TJ8Edw/видео.html For comparison my partner has a cheap capture card & HDMI splitter, cost about £20 in total - has worked well for 3+ years now, no issues! I have an Elgato HD60 (was over £100 when I bought it) - both work just as well
Hey! Yep - so to get this to work: With cheaper cards: So cheaper cards don't have an output to TV, so for these you'll need to get an HDMI splitter as well - and the setup would look like - HDMI cable from Switch to HDMI splitter HDMI cable from Splitter to TV HDMI cable from Splitter to Capture Card With more expensive cards: More expensive cards usually have an HDMI output or TV output built in, so you can output to the TV or second screen without needing a splitter (e.g. the Elgato HD60 or Avermedia cards have this) That way you can play on the TV and still use the capture card to record footage :)
Do the slight stuttering effects happen when you are uploading videos? I dont plan on streaming but would like to use this instead of share factory to upload.
Excellent video.. Now, how do I get my party chat plus my own voice to the capture card, considering the only things that sound (HDMI out) which includes audio, on the HDMI going to the TV is the party chat without my voice... I'm planning to use a splitter (one in & two out HDMI)...and have my Xbox series X output normally, and include the party chat... But I don't know how the card will capture the audio of my voice... I mostly use Astros A50s, but if I had to go wired and connect to the controller I'm willing to do so if it's for the stream, but I don't think that changes anything, I don't know how to get my voice into that capture card along with the party chat and the rest of the game audio...
Hmm - does the party chat normally output to TV or headset? Depending on the setup sometimes the capture card won't take game audio (or vice versa) if using headphones/headsets I would suggest Discord to be honest - for both party chat and recording your voice, with the capture card only capturing voice audio!
@@TeeChu thank you I want to start recording loads of game on my switch while spending little money as possible such as the new game, nintendo switch sports i will spend my soul in that game and i want people to see it :D
Can i please ask which USB-C to HDMI cable brand would you recommend so i can connect the switch to the capture card? there seem to be so many and not all seems to work with the switch?
Hey Amii - most capture cards are USB capture cards (like the one in this video) In order to connect the Switch, you need to connect the Switch (in the dock) to the capture card via HDMI - note it won't work with the Lite :) There's no need for a USB to HDMI cable - unless your PC/laptop doesn't have normal USB?
Which Amazon region? Essentially most splitters should work - but make sure in the description (check the Amazon photos for the listing) it should support *mirror mode* - e.g. it should show a picture of the splitter and 2 screens running at the same time
Hey - hmm, what kind of splitter is it? Some splitters don't mirror the signal at the same time (e.g. it's an either or, and not a splitter if that makes sense)
@@TeeChu that’s fine I will order a different one. I’m wondering though. How would I be able to hear my switch audio on obs. I know my stream can but how do I?
@@SubbyLmao Hey! So the best way for this is to do Monitor + Output in OBS (see our other video for some tips: ruclips.net/video/iPMERkQEmlU/видео.html) Essentially you would right click the capture card audio source --> Advanced Audio Properties Then set it to Monitor and Output What that does is let you listen to the sound source (monitor) and also output to the stream at the same time The device settings for the monitor are in File --> Settings --> Audio I believe Hope that helps!
Really dont know what to get lol, its a bit too much information for me I have a TV (connected to Switch and PC) If I get a capture card, do I need to put the capture card between the Switch and PC? and then I can see the switch on my pc (tv) or do I also the splitter to show it on my TV itself like how it is now? Would really appreciate any help.
Hey Broeren, No worries, so essentially with your setup, if you want to capture Switch footage and be able to watch the gameplay on the TV you'll need to: - Get a capture card & a splitter OR Get a capture card that has built in HDMI out (though these are more expensive) - You may need some extra HDMI cables possibly and a USB cable to power the splitter Then: - HDMI cable from Switch to splitter - HDMI cable from splitter to TV - HDMI cable from splitter to capture card That way you can still watch the gameplay on your TV , plus capture footage via the capture card :) The alternative is just getting a capture card, but you wouldn't be able to use the TV and would need to play Switch through OBS That way is fine BUT you may get some input lag when watching the gameplay through OBS, so I would always recommend a TV or monitor for watching the gameplay Hope that helps!
Hey! If you see in the video, both cheaper and more expensive cards were used to record the Mario Kart and Smash bros footage - records straight onto PC though - so not sure about recording it onto a separate device then transferring it to a PC - your best bet is a PC, or if it’s a case of portability, then perhaps a laptop. There might be some portable capture cards that save on memory cards but haven’t used any myself
Just had a look and "AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus Game Capture Card" can do it without a PC (saves to a micro SDHC card) - there doesn't seem to be many options available - I would still opt for direct to PC approach if you can!
@@TeeChu the combination of set up and gameplay habits means that a solution that goes straight to PC introduces lots of friction. Its easy to see why a straight to PC solution is probably obvious for most people. Thank you for this, I'll keep looking into it 🖖🏽
Hmm - do you get any audio signal at all? and does it work without the splitter (e.g. just direct into the capture card?) One thing I noticed about splitters and audio/visual is that sometimes the splitter isn't getting enough power - usually resolved by making sure it's getting power through a USB cable (most splitters have optional USB power) Also - making sure your USB isn't overloaded on your PC - so you may need to try a different USB port (e.g. if you're using the front set of USB, maybe try the back)
I’m pretty late on this video lol. Worth a try. I have an older flat screen tv, about 15yrs. A lot of cards are 4k and high hex or pixels. Should I get a crappy card to match my crappy tv? Lol idk if it would be like putting an older movie in a high pixel tv or something.
It doesn’t really depend on the tv as much, but the console you’re capturing- eg if the console does 1080p max - like switch - the capture card would capture that 1080p signal really Some may try to upscale but to be honest, 1080p max is probably good enough for now! If streaming, most viewers won’t have the super fastest internet and would likely be watching streams on 1080p or less. If you plan to output the capture card to the TV (eg using an HDMI splitter alongside the capture card), the cheaper usb card would work well!
@@Rob-tu6kl the capture card is capturing the source console really - so if your console supports 4K, the card can capture it - but the tv would show whatever the maximum resolution it can (I assume 1080 or 720 by the age)
@@kai_sky_venturer8002 Hey! Yep that's correct - it relies on the HDMI output of your dock for it to work / capture the signal from the HDMI cable. If spacing is an issue you may be able to use an HDMI extension cable to connect the dock's HDMI cable to your laptop/capture card OR an HDMI splitter to allow you to play on the TV and capture at the same time: ruclips.net/video/DpQt7TJ8Edw/видео.html Hope that helps!
@@TeeChu actually wait I can get the dock itself separate from the hdmi in the wall so I think I can work this out with another hdmi I have, now the other question is what about the ac adapter? Is it just to keep your switch’s battery up or is it also needed for recording n such? Im not sure if using another ac adapter that is not officially from Nintendo or something may not provide enough current for the dock.
@@kai_sky_venturer8002 tricky one. essentially all you need to do is have an hdmi cable from the dock into the capture card - if it’s able to currently get a picture to your tv, then you should be good regardless of AC power 😊
great video...one question....if I wanna play looking at the tv, do I need another tool or it is enough the USB 3 that you show innthe video...thank you dude...from a boomer who still plays Zelda Botw...🙏
Zelda for life! So what I would recommend for a TV (or second monitor) setup: - This or similar USB3 capture card - An HDMI 1-in-2 out splitter (something like amzn.to/3hOLWYj) So the console's HDMI does into the splitter, and then outputs (mirrors) to two HDMI outputs - one output will go into the capture card, the other into your TV or second monitor That way you can get a perfect output on your TV whilst still streaming/recording on the capture card :) More expensive cards (like Elgato) have the TV output already built in, but these cheaper ones need a splitter if you want to get it on the TV TV/second screen output is optional but recommended as there is some subtle slowdown if watching the gameplay in OBS!
so i have a question my laptop is lucky enough to have an hdmi out port and i have 2 hdmi cables. Could i attach a capture card to the switch hdmi cable then connect the capture card into the pc and also connect a second hdmi cable from my laptop to my tv? would i be able to record and also display it on my tv too?
That could work! But you'd get lag though as it's taking the console signal into the capture card, and then the signal going through your laptop and to the TV/second screen Personally I would get an HDMI splitter (1 in, 2 out) - HDMI cable from console into the splitter - HDMI cable from splitter to TV (or second monitor) - HDMI cable to the capture card That way you get a direct signal to the TV/monitor :)
No worries :) The audio is the *biggest* pain! Going forward - if anything drops (audio or picture) - usually resetting OBS does the trick! (or going into properties on the capture card clicking disable/enable) Good luck with the streamin'!

@@TeeChu the reviews on that second link are extremely sus and are about a bunch of different other random products, and it's claiming it can do 4k for only like $5 more than the first one that says 1080p. I'd stick with that first link
Will the HDMI splitter impact the lag to OBS even more than it already has? I have the capture card and can't play through OBS with the input lag, however I'm hoping it doesnt effect it even more when the splitter is used (still waiting for delivery). Please let me know :)
Great question Ryan - yep, from what I've seen it shouldn't lag OBS any further - the signal you get split to the TV (or a second monitor) would be full speed Viewers on your streams won't notice really - but in terms of input delay ya, always best to play on a TV/second monitor for zero lag! Don't forget you may need a USB cable for the splitter for extra power as often that's the cause of signal loss too!
Thank you for explaining the differences and in such a kind, sweet manner. You exude a warmth that’s so captivating. I can tell you really care.

Thank you for this! I want to start streaming Animal Crossing because its my happy place, but I'm disabled and therefore poor 😂 I'll definitely snag this cheapy friend!
No worries at all! The cheaper cards work very well :) My partner's been using the same one since 2021 for recording and streaming, still works great :)
Tutorial video for setting up: ruclips.net/video/iPMERkQEmlU/видео.html
With cheaper cards you may notice a little input lag from controller to screen - if you have a TV or second screen available, I would recommend using that to watch gameplay:

Enjoy! Love a good AC stream :)
Great video!
Thank you!
with the splitter, will i be able to stream and see my gameplay on the same monitor
Hey! With the splitter it would normally be on a different monitor or TV
ruclips.net/video/DpQt7TJ8Edw/видео.html
You can see gameplay through OBS but it can be laggy so a separate screen or TV for gameplay is always recommended :)
Is that bgm a remix of a Huniepop song? Sounds so close to one of the date songs
Not quite! I see whatcha mean but it's two tunes - a Zelda and a Pokemon remix :) Links in description if you want to check them out!
I've got a question, can you record/stream your switch gameplay but still play on your main monitor without having to play with the ms delay the capture card brings?
Hey - so yep, you can by using an HDMI splitter - some cards like the Elgato come with an HDMI output, cheaper ones don't
ruclips.net/video/DpQt7TJ8Edw/видео.html
Great video
Thanks so much :)
Would it be a lot less smooth if you plug the USB 3 into a USB 2? Because the PC I have doesn’t have USB 3
It's mainly a power issue unfortunately, it's fine plugging a USB 2 device into a USB 3, but the other way round may see some issues. In this case I may be cautious and try purchasing a USB2 card - which should be fine really!
Love for this bro, but couldn't really see a difference 🤔
Hey! Honestly the cheaper one is the way to go imo to get started :)
@@TeeChu Thanks a bunch! I've been wanting to stream to my partner on Discord for a bit now.
@@nemai9 That's sweet! Ya it should do the trick :) Note that there might be some input lag on controllers - I would recommend a second screen for that (or TV) for watching the gamplay if so
Thanks for making this vid
that elgato capture card is like almost as expensive as the switch lol
No worries! Enjoy! Definitely good to explore budget options when first starting out as there really is little different :)
Question, I want to get the cheaper capture card for Christmas, Is it possible to use it to stream on applications such as discord? I want to be able to stream my "epic" roguelike skills to my friends!
Hey! Yep yep :) You can do a screenshare from what you're seeing on OBS :)
Obs has an option to open your preview in a separate window - then use OBS to point to that
@@TeeChu when previewing to a separate window on OBS, does that include audio too when screensharing on discord?
I do have a hdmi spliter that has 3 hdmi ports but I think I'm probably just better off unplugging the hdmi cable from my switch and ps4 and plugging it into the capture card
I think so! OBS will be a teeny bit laggy tho, so the splitter is useful if you want to output to a TV or second screen :)
@@TeeChu I am planing to use a capture card for both my switch and ps4 but I don't know how the capture card impacts on the ps4 gameplay
@@gamingwithjoseph714 Capture cards shouldn't really impact too much on gameplay at all really :) If you watch the gameplay through OBS directly there might be a teeny bit of lag - so I always recommend an HDMI splitter to the TV/second screen
is it possible to use this with the switch undocked??? (obviously with a usbc adaptor)
It only works with an HDMI output - so it would need to be docked *unless* your adaptor has the same functionality as the dock (e.g. outputs a picture to HDMI)

(Edit: Never mind, whenever I have a question like this, I find the next video of yours that answers it hahaha)
"if I want it desplayed on a TV at the same time"
What exactly is meant by that? If I use the normal capture card and plug it only into my PC, will I not see the game on the PC? Or not on the console either?
I thought it would show up like any other game I play on my PC, in like a window or at least entirely on one screen or smth. I am not sure how this will work 🤔
Haha yep! No worries - for anyone reading this comment, the video link for hdmi splitter is: ruclips.net/video/DpQt7TJ8Edw/видео.html
For comparison my partner has a cheap capture card & HDMI splitter, cost about £20 in total - has worked well for 3+ years now, no issues! I have an Elgato HD60 (was over £100 when I bought it) - both work just as well
Very informative channel. Thanks for giving us helpful content especially with regards to the technicalities in streaming Nintendo games.
Thanks so much Ralph!
Can you hdmi capture card while you Nintendo switch is plugged into your tv
Hey! Yep - so to get this to work:
With cheaper cards:
So cheaper cards don't have an output to TV, so for these you'll need to get an HDMI splitter as well - and the setup would look like -
HDMI cable from Switch to HDMI splitter
HDMI cable from Splitter to TV
HDMI cable from Splitter to Capture Card
With more expensive cards:
More expensive cards usually have an HDMI output or TV output built in, so you can output to the TV or second screen without needing a splitter (e.g. the Elgato HD60 or Avermedia cards have this)
That way you can play on the TV and still use the capture card to record footage :)
Do the slight stuttering effects happen when you are uploading videos? I dont plan on streaming but would like to use this instead of share factory to upload.
Generally it should be okay depending on the PC/laptop you have :) All the footage in this video was captured using OBS
Please help
Hmm - does the party chat normally output to TV or headset? Depending on the setup sometimes the capture card won't take game audio (or vice versa) if using headphones/headsets
I would suggest Discord to be honest - for both party chat and recording your voice, with the capture card only capturing voice audio!
One question do you need to buy new ones? Is there storage it holds
Hey - so it only captures footage (for streaming or recording) - if you record it saves the video to your PC ☺️
@@TeeChu thank you I want to start recording loads of game on my switch while spending little money as possible such as the new game, nintendo switch sports i will spend my soul in that game and i want people to see it :D
Awesome! Switch Sports is soooo good!
If i use a screen splitter will there be input lag on the monitor im playing on
Shouldn't be any lag on the second monitor or TV bit - that should feel pretty much like a normal signal from the console :)
Can i please ask which USB-C to HDMI cable brand would you recommend so i can connect the switch to the capture card? there seem to be so many and not all seems to work with the switch?
Hey Amii - most capture cards are USB capture cards (like the one in this video)
In order to connect the Switch, you need to connect the Switch (in the dock) to the capture card via HDMI - note it won't work with the Lite :)
There's no need for a USB to HDMI cable - unless your PC/laptop doesn't have normal USB?
@@TeeChu Wow! Thank-you so much for your respond, lightbulb moment there!
No problem! We have a video on how to set it up too :)

Anyone have a Amazon link to the budget capture with the hdmi splitter for tv
Which Amazon region? Essentially most splitters should work - but make sure in the description (check the Amazon photos for the listing) it should support *mirror mode* - e.g. it should show a picture of the splitter and 2 screens running at the same time
Hey! Is this useable for Nintendo switch lite?
Unfortunately not as you can’t dock the Lite I’m afraid
@@TeeChu ah OK thank you!
Hey I’m trying to use the splitter but the switch game play isn’t showing up on the tv or pc. It is a different splitter.
Hey - hmm, what kind of splitter is it? Some splitters don't mirror the signal at the same time (e.g. it's an either or, and not a splitter if that makes sense)
@@TeeChu I got it off eBay. It says it’s a multi switch switcher one but doesn’t say it mirrors.
@@SubbyLmao Hmm - in that case it sounds like it's a switch I'm afraid, and not a spitter sadly
@@TeeChu that’s fine I will order a different one. I’m wondering though. How would I be able to hear my switch audio on obs. I know my stream can but how do I?
@@SubbyLmao Hey! So the best way for this is to do Monitor + Output in OBS (see our other video for some tips: ruclips.net/video/iPMERkQEmlU/видео.html) Essentially you would right click the capture card audio source --> Advanced Audio Properties
Then set it to Monitor and Output
What that does is let you listen to the sound source (monitor) and also output to the stream at the same time
The device settings for the monitor are in File --> Settings --> Audio I believe
Hope that helps!
Really dont know what to get lol, its a bit too much information for me
I have a TV (connected to Switch and PC)
If I get a capture card, do I need to put the capture card between the Switch and PC? and then I can see the switch on my pc (tv) or do I also the splitter to show it on my TV itself like how it is now?
Would really appreciate any help.
Hey Broeren,
No worries, so essentially with your setup, if you want to capture Switch footage and be able to watch the gameplay on the TV you'll need to:
- Get a capture card & a splitter
OR Get a capture card that has built in HDMI out (though these are more expensive)
- You may need some extra HDMI cables possibly and a USB cable to power the splitter
Then:
- HDMI cable from Switch to splitter
- HDMI cable from splitter to TV
- HDMI cable from splitter to capture card
That way you can still watch the gameplay on your TV , plus capture footage via the capture card :)
The alternative is just getting a capture card, but you wouldn't be able to use the TV and would need to play Switch through OBS
That way is fine BUT you may get some input lag when watching the gameplay through OBS, so I would always recommend a TV or monitor for watching the gameplay
Hope that helps!
@@TeeChu You are a legend! I wish you the best year man
I want a device that will record onto media I can put into my PC for later editing. What do I look for?
Thank you for this, I'll keep looking into it 🖖🏽
when using a splitter is anyone having problems with not being able to capture audio even after setting up OBS audio input capture source?
Hmm - do you get any audio signal at all? and does it work without the splitter (e.g. just direct into the capture card?)
One thing I noticed about splitters and audio/visual is that sometimes the splitter isn't getting enough power - usually resolved by making sure it's getting power through a USB cable (most splitters have optional USB power)
Also - making sure your USB isn't overloaded on your PC - so you may need to try a different USB port (e.g. if you're using the front set of USB, maybe try the back)
same here but i think i might use it to make vids and im just starting out so if anyone has some tips that would be great
Nice! I would definitely opt for the cheaper setup and record via OBS :)
It doesn’t really depend on the tv as much, but the console you’re capturing- eg if the console does 1080p max - like switch - the capture card would capture that 1080p signal really
Some may try to upscale but to be honest, 1080p max is probably good enough for now! If streaming, most viewers won’t have the super fastest internet and would likely be watching streams on 1080p or less.
If you plan to output the capture card to the TV (eg using an HDMI splitter alongside the capture card), the cheaper usb card would work well!
@@TeeChu thank you, my sons dream is to be a RUclips star, aren’t we all lol. Thanks again bro
@@TeeChu oh, so will a 4k capture card work on a standard flat screen?
@@Rob-tu6kl good luck! Gonna smash it, am sure!
@@Rob-tu6kl the capture card is capturing the source console really - so if your console supports 4K, the card can capture it - but the tv would show whatever the maximum resolution it can (I assume 1080 or 720 by the age)
Do we need to have the dock of the switch for this capture card?
Idk how to explain it but uhhh, all the cables for the dock are in my walls so I can’t do much about it to bring it closer to my laptop lol
@@kai_sky_venturer8002 Hey! Yep that's correct - it relies on the HDMI output of your dock for it to work / capture the signal from the HDMI cable. If spacing is an issue you may be able to use an HDMI extension cable to connect the dock's HDMI cable to your laptop/capture card
OR an HDMI splitter to allow you to play on the TV and capture at the same time:
ruclips.net/video/DpQt7TJ8Edw/видео.html
Hope that helps!
The music!
Thank you!
would this work with a switch lite??
It only works with consoles that have HDMI I'm afraid
great video...one question....if I wanna play looking at the tv, do I need another tool or it is enough the USB 3 that you show innthe video...thank you dude...from a boomer who still plays Zelda Botw...🙏
Zelda for life! So what I would recommend for a TV (or second monitor) setup:
- This or similar USB3 capture card
- An HDMI 1-in-2 out splitter (something like amzn.to/3hOLWYj)
So the console's HDMI does into the splitter, and then outputs (mirrors) to two HDMI outputs - one output will go into the capture card, the other into your TV or second monitor
That way you can get a perfect output on your TV whilst still streaming/recording on the capture card :)
More expensive cards (like Elgato) have the TV output already built in, but these cheaper ones need a splitter if you want to get it on the TV
TV/second screen output is optional but recommended as there is some subtle slowdown if watching the gameplay in OBS!
so i have a question my laptop is lucky enough to have an hdmi out port and i have 2 hdmi cables.
Could i attach a capture card to the switch hdmi cable then connect the capture card into the pc and also connect a second hdmi cable from my laptop to my tv?
would i be able to record and also display it on my tv too?
That could work! But you'd get lag though as it's taking the console signal into the capture card, and then the signal going through your laptop and to the TV/second screen
Personally I would get an HDMI splitter (1 in, 2 out)
- HDMI cable from console into the splitter
- HDMI cable from splitter to TV (or second monitor)
- HDMI cable to the capture card
That way you get a direct signal to the TV/monitor :)
No worries :) The audio is the *biggest* pain! Going forward - if anything drops (audio or picture) - usually resetting OBS does the trick! (or going into properties on the capture card clicking disable/enable)
Good luck with the streamin'!
@@TeeChu I only have 2 hdmi cables so i would have to buy a third and a splitter if I did so
@@TeeChu and as long as the lagg isnt unbearable and it doesnt affect gameplay too much then I'll be fine with it
@@fatyoshi2103 Give it a go! For me it is definitely noticeable in games like Splatoon or Mario Kart, but worth trying before you get a splitter :)

Will the HDMI splitter impact the lag to OBS even more than it already has? I have the capture card and can't play through OBS with the input lag, however I'm hoping it doesnt effect it even more when the splitter is used (still waiting for delivery). Please let me know :)
Great question Ryan - yep, from what I've seen it shouldn't lag OBS any further - the signal you get split to the TV (or a second monitor) would be full speed
Viewers on your streams won't notice really - but in terms of input delay ya, always best to play on a TV/second monitor for zero lag!
Don't forget you may need a USB cable for the splitter for extra power as often that's the cause of signal loss too!
