As a former gunsmith the cz rear sight is probably the easiest I have ever encountered to remove. Small leaf spring underneath. Push down on top of the sight and pull rearward. Hope this helps.
Yes, but you still have part of the rear sight on there that's really in the way. I mounted a Leupold freedom scope (for .22) and I still couldn't get it to mount. The front objective is 40mm. I had to put on a EGW picitinny rail.
Hi who tee I've got the same one to remove the back sight is easy to remove u don't need any tools u just have to press down on the front end and at the same time slid it back toward the chamber its a recessed spring release . love your vids
The rear sight will come off. Put the rifle on a fitm surface, push down HARD on the front of the sight until you feel the leaf spring compress and pull to the rear. The sight will come out exposing two screws that hold the rear sight base on the rifle. It only takes one broken thumbnail and a few cuss words but it works!
Try pressing the back sight down and slide it off like its done with CZ 452. It doesn't look unlike the earlier model, at least in the video. Good luck.
picked one up eBay was only 11-12 bucks, without any adapter on the tail its a perfect fit to .177 BB/pellet bore too. sighted in at 30 yards, good enough!
Adam the rear sight is super easy to take off, no tools required, it's just a spring loaded undercut press down with your thump whilst pushing towards the stock, I work on these heaps for client custom builds.

It’s crazy that a CZ 22 LR is the most accurate gun I own at 100 yards. CZ Big thumbs up, Someone may be curious I think 457 lux is ever so slightly more accurate.
@@FT86TT I've had a CZ 455 "Ultralux" with the 28.68 inch barrel for a few years now and I love it. It's as incredibly accurate as any of the other CZ rimfire versions I have, from 452 to 455's and 457's. The barrel length doesn't really make it MORE accurate, but it sure isn't less so by any means. What it does do and where it really shines is in two areas. First, the barrel length gives you an extremely long sight radius between the front and rear sights which makes it a great rifle to shoot with just the open sights. I put a scope on it when i first got it, but took it off after a while and have left it off. The second and coolest way it shines is with "subsonic" ammo. The barrel length makes it darned near as quiet as a rifle with a silencer/moderator on it. It's much quieter with all types of .22lr ammo, but super quiet with subsonic. You definitely hear a difference. The varmints, they don't hear a thing. I like the changes made for the new 457's. Except for some of the stocks. I think the "Jaguar" stock is particularly hideous. My 455 has an amazing looking Walnut stock. The new Jaguars come with a fugly Beech wood stock with terrible machine pressed markings on the grip area and on the fore end. I'm looking at the possibility of just getting a nice walnut 457 Lux stock and swapping it out with the fugly Beech Jaguar version. Cool name. Fugly stock. Until then, I'm keeping my 455 Ultralux.
I’ve always wanted one of the CZ bolt guns and I finally ended up getting one a few weeks ago. I’ve always wanted an ultra lux model, and finally when shopping with my buddy to get him a new 308, I saw one for the first time in person. A CZ457 Jaguar which is the successor to the ultra lux model name. It’s got a 28.5” barrel which is perfect because I love peep sights. Only pain is that the bolt redesign makes half the rear sights I’d use incompatible/too wide because of how the bolt comes up beside the rear rail. Still amazing bolt action .22s. The 28.5” barrel also does what I wanted it for and makes CCI quiets basically a click and a thump of it hitting the target. Also pull that puppy out of the stock and you can adjust the trigger to be so perfect that it’s not funny. One screw to take the pre travel out or add more, one to reduce or add weight and one to reduce travel after the trigger pull. I removed all but .5mm of pre travel and lightened the pull. So much easier to shoot good with, only problem is I’m a bit nervous about a trigger with no pre travel and a 1-3lb? Pull. Not unsafe, just really easy to set off. That’s what trigger discipline is for though 🤷♂️
The rear sight leaf is super simple to remove if you know how. The pin does not come out. Just push down on the front of the sight at the "pin" and slide the sight rearward. I you need more clearance, I think you can remove the sight base (bottom part). On the 457 series, I believe the base is attached to the barrel with screws and can be completely removed. Awesome rifles. That Norma Tac-22 was shooting quite good. Ya gotta love those CZ rimfires!
Push down on the rear sight where it looks like a pin is going threw and slide in out backwards , what looks like pins are ears on the rear sight compress the sping and slide out backwards.

I have the same rifle only in the older 452 model. This is my 2nd one n foolishly sold my 1st in the 90’s. Superb accuracy with 36 n 38gr ammo. However I use a 2-7x28mm Leupold n it has accounted for dozens of spruce hens n hundreds of gophers here in western Canada. The shorter compact scope does not touch the elevator rear sight. Which itself is very accurate with practice.
To remove the rear sight from the barrel you simply push down on the center of the forward most part of the sight and slide it out of a groove to the rear. It is spring loaded. No need to buy higher rings for iron sight clearance.
Well now that was an interesting video and that CZ 22 bolt-action rifle is a accurate platform for sure. I have never shot any of that Norma ammo and I haven't even seen any of it for sale around here but I would like to try it sometime. Rear sight removal , slide "slide" back on the sight than push down above where is 200 in between ears where you see "pin" , depressing front while pulling back and it just slide out. Yes that easy ;-DDD

Plus if the accuracy needs help green mountain is making them.
Hello and thanks a lot for this practical video. I would like to buy a CZ 457 22WMR, but I need to know about the material which its bolt made from. It seems to me that back side of the bolt is made from plastic. Am I right? Generally, is there any plastic part exist in these models?
My 17HMR and my 22LR are my current favorite guns to shoot...probably has something to do with cheaper ammo prices, but they are still my current faves nonetheless😂
Those cz are beautiful rifles as well as set up right. My friend has one and after you set that trigger a feather would fire it. Awesome video Who-Tee-Who the wooden stock on his rifle is beautifully done as well, snug bolt. A truly very well made rifle!
To remove the rear sight from a CZ, press down on the rear sight and slide rearward. The base can be removed as well, as it is attached via screws on the 457, rather than welds with the older CZ rimfires.
Well, I am impressed! Every range day begins for me with a Ruger American rimfire at 100 yds. It has taken me considerably longer to learn how to shoot it than anticipated(.22lr is different from 6.5 Grendel), but my groups are nowhere close to yours.

Hello and thanks a lot for this practical video. I would like to buy a CZ 457 22WMR, but I need to know about the material which its bolt made from. It seems to me that back side of the bolt is made from plastic. Am I right? Generally, is there any plastic part exist in these models?
Hi WTW.
love the video. Now I need to get one of those 22
Thanks for watching Ricky
I see those flies you should bait them to the targets and take one at 100 yds ?
Don’t worry about the barrel it’s fine a 22 don’t heat up like a center fire barrel
Thanks Randle
I always used a penny or a dime to adjust my scopes and most of the time I kept a dime under the elevation cap.
Good idea
I need to get a CZ.
🇦🇺 21:00 before notification came up
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I had bought a Escort 22lr from a local gun store and it blew up in my face the mag blew up into a buncha pieces.. it kinda looks like your rifle!
always a good idea to cycle with snap caps a couple times with rimfire.
feed jams can kaboom, glad it didn't really bite ya!
WTW, nice Chewbacca impression at 9:47 😂
😆😆😆
I would love to see your results with a better scope.
I have a CZ455 .22LR and I love it.
Awesome
I’ve shot the 17 hmr version of that gun with just iron sights and it shoots like a dream!
Awesome
I’d be very very happy, you’re virtually sub MOA at a 100, happy days !
I have one more need to have gun- a CZ 457 Lux in .17 HMR. Might be a day, might be a week, might be 3 years. But when I see one I'll buy it.
Another great video !
who tee who god bless you and your family for providing great content my whole family loves to watch
Appreciate you watching Daniel
I got one yesterday and it’s amazing 👍😀
My 17HMR and my 22LR are my current favorite guns to shoot...probably has something to do with cheaper ammo prices, but they are still my current faves nonetheless😂
Can't go wrong with a CZ, they make some very accurate rifles.
I agree
Those cz are beautiful rifles as well as set up right. My friend has one and after you set that trigger a feather would fire it. Awesome video Who-Tee-Who the wooden stock on his rifle is beautifully done as well, snug bolt. A truly very well made rifle!
Is Paul in the background grinding away?
Yes!
Where do you get the scope and rings?
I don't know why, but I love watching zeroing rifles. I'm I weird for that? Nah I love guns!
To remove the rear sight from a CZ, press down on the rear sight and slide rearward. The base can be removed as well, as it is attached via screws on the 457, rather than welds with the older CZ rimfires.
Wtw have you ever glass bedded any of your rifles
Never have
I like that laser sighter thing, it is cool!
Works out pretty good
On the last plate it looked like the wind was kicking up you could see the plates moving around a little
Might be
What rings and height did you use? I have the exact same gun and would like to keep the back iron sights on.
I think your gettin the hang of this brother
Thanks for watching William
Hay Mr. Squirrel can you stay there till the barrel is cooled off
😝😝😝
Nice rifle and very nice grouping
Thanks for watching Wayne
I never met a CZ I didn't like. 💥👍💥
Same
Good shooting !!
💥💥💥
Love the 22 content!
Appreciate you watching!
Speaking of 22lr have you tried the Winchester wildcat auto yet? I just got one and seems like serious competition a ruger
Haven't tried it
Well, I am impressed! Every range day begins for me with a Ruger American rimfire at 100 yds. It has taken me considerably longer to learn how to shoot it than anticipated(.22lr is different from 6.5 Grendel), but my groups are nowhere close to yours.
All about the ammo when it comes to 22lr I think. Subsonic is way better than supersonic
@@WHOTEEWHO, acquiring ammo has been a problem. To date, I have five types and five magazines one for each target. Yes I keep the targets with documentation on each. One of these days I may actually upload a video. After at least five more ammo types.
No cheek weld using a scope because the stock is too low with the hogback stock and the ultra high scope mount.
Cheek weld is overrated. Proven in my many videos shooting at 1000 yards
