Thanks for the heads up comparison. I’ve owned the same model Bergara B14r as you for the past three years. It is still box stock. I really like this rifle with its carbon fiber barrel. I started with CCI Standard Velocity when I bought the gun. My five-shot group average for four groups is identical to what you observed at 0.56 inches. This is the average for three sessions (a dozen groups) over a two month period. Winds were as high as 8 mph from 30-degrees during one session. I wasn’t satisfied with this performance, so I began extensive ammo comparisons at 100 and 200 yards. Not only was it a fun exercise but enlightening as well. I tried a dozen different 40 grain ammo products from Mini-Mags (terrible groups at 100 yards) to SK Rifle Match and Long Range Match, to Eley Tenex and Lapua Center-X and Long Range. My B14r likes the SK Long Range Match, Center-X and Lapua Long Range the best. Curiously, it hates Eley Match and Tenex. The three best ammos typically grouped at about 0.90 to 1.04 MOA at both 100 and 200 yards. The best performance by the CCI Standard Velocity was 1.6 MOA. All of these are averages for four runs of five-shot groups. My point is, as we all know, 22lr rifles are very picky about ammo. What works well in my B14r may not work as well in yours. Or it might perform better. If you expand this comparison, I would like you to use the ammo that has worked best in each of your rifles and do so at 100 and 200 yards. Using the “favorite” ammo of each rifle should put them on a more equal footing. The longer ranges will better reveal the accuracy differences. Again, thanks for your well done comparison and the time you obviously put into testing and the video. Please keep up the good work.
Thanks so much for this information. I plan on doing way more testing with all of these rifles but I have to say for a bone stock out of the box rifle the bergara really shoots well will almost everything. I have t had the chance to take it out to longer ranges yet but I most definitely will in the future. By shooting the same ammo I just wanted to see how they would do with the same ammo and to be honest they did better than I was expecting. Usually the groups are much larger than the groups shown in this video. I’ll definitely look into trying what you described in your comment. And definitely at a longer distance. Cheers and thanks for the advice!
Great Video thanks for sharing. I have a T1x in a KRG X-ray and use CCI SV for most of my shooting and switch to Midus + when I want really tight groups.
Sounds like a nice rifle set up. If you want a really nice bolt handle check out atlasworx.com they make some very nice parts to upgrade the T1X. Cheers my friend
Right, I've been a RIFLEMAN for 40 years, been shooting for 56 years, got some knowledge stacked away.I've never shot a bullshit "fortnight, videogame" looking rifle. Both my Brno zkm 452e 22 rimfires shoot less than 1/2 inch moa out to 100 meters, neither look like sci-fi specials, both cost less than 500 dollars both wear inexpensive 3×9 ×40 scopes, one shoots cci mini mags into 1/2 inch at 100,the other shoots AUSTRALIAN win subsonics into 3/4 to 1 inch moa at 100. Your "custom" high end 22's can go piss in the wind! Spend time, try different ammo, buy quality BUT DONT BUY INTO THE CUSTOM ADJUSTABLE RIP OFF BULLSHIT!,You don' need it!!! As an aslde,my cheap spanish(1970's) 7x57 mauser will group into 1/4 inch at 100 with speer 145 grain hot cor's,JUST SPEND TIME, You can spend thousands,or you can do the job properly! I've never shot a 452 that isn't super accurate, juat saying.
That’s very impressive! I have a hard time getting any cci ammo to shoot 1 moa at 100 yards with any rifle. I was impressed with the results in this video to be totally honest. You should join the dayartherange.com community and do the challenges they put out every month. I’d love to watch you shoot! I’m just having fun here nothing very serious. Thanks for the comment
Definitely the rifle. My Ruger 10/22 16" barrel I've had for over 20 years shoots dime size groups using this CCI Standard Velocity. I'd love to own both the Tikka T1x and the CZ 457 as well.
I thought the target test was excellent to do 4 5-shot groups (to give the barrel a chance to settle and foul in) and then 1 10-shot group to compare against each rifle. Nice video, concise and “on target”.
Thank you I always read and consider every bit of positive and negative criticism I get in the comments and try to apply and improve my videos. I’m glad you liked this video and thanks for your comment. Cheers!
I love the bergara barrels and action, and even that stock in a .22 would be pretty good. What saddens me is when the company puts a 300PRC from their flagship premiere lineup in this same stock and thinks it will hold up to the recoil. Pro tip - it won't. No matter what torque or how much loctite you put on there it will work itself loose. Bed the action properly and it will shoot amazing groups. Note it was the $1000 aftermarket chassis that won this showdown. Quite a few companies out there making great actions and barrels and then dropping the ball to cut cost when it comes to putting them in the stock. Jack of all trades - master of none. Pick one and stick to it. Partner with a reputable stock/chassis manufacturer and deliver the product the customer actually wants in the end. Thanks for the comparison!
My Tikka shoots cci SV and stacks them at 50 yds! Love this ammo. Bought a couple of bricks, but then realized Eley Team and Eley Match stacked even tighter. No weight or rim thickness sorting either. Great video! I might have to go down the rabbit hole even further now and go get a CZ or a Bergara! Lol

Most of my .22LRs shoot CCI Std Velocity very well. Some of the fliers you can put down do to inconsistencies in the velocities. Sometimes you can get 100fps difference with cheaper ammo. One of the most consistent budget ammos is Aguila Subsonic. I put 20 rounds over my Labradar and had an SD of

Hi from Northern Ireland (UK)! I wish I could add photographs here, but I can achieve 5 shot groups with each hole stacked on top of the other, at 50 yards with a CZ 512 Tactical (Factory stock version). I have won two rife companions with this little rifle. My 16 year old son came a close second to me in the same compton using my CZ rife. I replaced a Ruger 10/22 with my CZ 512, there is no comparison with the two guns. I would never purchase another Ruger firearm. The fit and finish of CZ is ten times better. Milled with millimetre precision, in my opinion European guns are far superior.
I love CZ they are great guns I will keep an eye out for a 512 sounds like it would make a great addition to my collection and channel. Thanks for sharing this comment with me.
