@@texmexshoots Luckily for us it was just a lot of rain. The field suffered a good bit as I got over 5 inches (rain gauge was full at 5) and several of my ditches filled in.
Thanks! That particular LVT has been a good rifle for me. Although switching out the trigger with a KIDD kit made a huge difference with how well it shoots.
I was impressed with both rifles. Good shooting. I’ve got a CZ 457 with a Lilja barrel and. KRG Bravo stock. I’ve got some videos of 30 shot groups if you’re interested but your Tikka holds up really well against my more expensive rifle.
I built a very accurate 10/22 many years ago that I still shoot often and recently I bought a Tikka T1X. After shooting a tremendous amount of target ammo, match ammo, every day standard velocity and high velocity ammo. I find that 1050-1080 fps with a 40gr lead bullet (not copper coated) is the most accurate out of these 2 extremely accurate rifles. The match ammo isn't all that much more accurate and sometimes less accurate than the less expensive standard velocity ammo, but it is much more consistent. It seems the extra money goes more to consistency than it does to extreme accuracy. In my other 22 rifles (a 146 B Mossberg and a 142LSA Mossberg target are also very accurate but not to the extent of the 10/22 and Tikka) the differences are more pronounced on these as they are simply less accurate, so the groups are larger and overall, they are more picky about ammo than the Tikka or the 10/22. Overall, I find my Tikka T1X to be more consistently accurate than my custom build 10/22 with most ammo. The Tikka T1X with most match ammo is ridiculously accurate rifle. You can hunt spent 22 lr cases with it all day at 50 yards.
Thanks for sharing Frank! I agree that sometimes even expensive match ammo can be inconsistent. Really depends on the rifle and what it likes. All I can say is that I am very happy with my T1x. One of the best 22lr purchases I have made in a long time. Probably since I bought my first CZ.
The Tikka is a good shooting rifle. I did not hear you complain about any issue with it. You didn't say, "This will be a good rifle once I put a Kidd trigger in it," or anything else needed to improve it. BTW: You have ruined Aguila .22LR ammo for me. The smell never bothered me until you brought it up. I was testing new mags in my 10/22 project gun with Aguila bulk pack, and ended up unconsciously holding my breath while shooting. It does have it's own distinctive odor. So, I guess that I have to switch over to Norma now?
Thanks as always Frank. The Tikka shoots great right out of the box. Although I do think I remember adjusting its trigger down, but at least that is an adjustment available on the factory trigger and doesn't require any additions. As for the aguila, I don't know if it is the primer or maybe the some coating on the ammo that give it that smell? Either way it sure is noticeable when you shoot it.
First Norma string - - first far right was flyer. One high (vertical string) was you, unless your barrel is wearing out and that's unlikely. The rest is impressive.
I have a CZ 452 that is extremely accurate. I shoot Tikka T3X in 308 and was considering the TIkka 22 to have similar training, but spending aorund $700 when I already have a CZ seems moot for me. What do you prefer for semi auto in 22? I am considering the Winchester Wildcat in wood stock and Ruger LVT. I want to run my suppressor on it for plinking fun. Thanks and nice comparing video.
Thanks for watching! I don't have any experience with the Winchester Wildcat so I can't help you out there. As for the LVT, I think it is a gem for the price. In my experience the LVT barrels are very accurate. I liked mine so much I bought a second one for a different project. However I would factor in putting in a little money into improving the trigger.
Thanks for watching! These are the Dirty Bird 12" x 18" Multiple Bull's-Eye Target. I can't find the measurements for the actual bullseye. Not even from the birchwood casey website. But the red center is about one inch in diameter.
@ you’re welcome my friend. I subscribed to your channel today. Just found it. I enjoy your content very much. Good luck and great shooting. Try a bipod and rear bag too. That will increase your accuracy as well. Get a stable bipod. If not at least get a rear bag and put just the front of your rifle in the front bag. I use the same Caldwell Dead Shot you do at my indoor range where the counter is too shallow to use a rear bag. It works well. Just not ideal when you have a table to shoot from and can rest the back.
@ Out at the properties I have access to, I take a folding table. It isn't ideal for rifles since It's not deep enough for me to use a rear bag. I might have to try and see if it works if I use the table at an angle. I originally bought that table for my kids. The legs are adjustable and I would set it up for them to shoot 22's from a bag.
@ maybe sometime you could get a bigger, sturdier table and try it. It will definitely make a difference. Right now I’m limited to the 25 yard indoor range. Looking forward to stretching it out with a good shooting table and rest set up.
you know there is always that one idiot the pronounces something differently than the rest of the world, and i swear they do it just to piss people off, or maybe they are better than everyone else, but either way this guy is that guy 1000%
Good shootin’ pard! I’m amazed at how well the 10/22 held its own against the Tikka. Good information! Thanks!
Not sure why RUclips erased my last reply, but thanks again for watching Colt!
That's a really nice looking rifle man. Good video brother.
Thanks my friend!

Thanks TexMex, that's a lot of fun work right there. It certainly lets you know what shoots best for each rifle. The Eley Match works well for me.
Thanks Cervus! Hope all went well with the storm.

New sub here. I just bought the Tikka. Great video and thanks for the information.
Thanks for subscribing! The T1x is am amazing rifle. You won't be disappointed.
Thanks for doing this, it looks fun with a large serving of hard work. I'm surprised the autoloader 10/22 performed that closely to the Tikka.

The Tikka is very nice. Thanks TexMex!
Thanks for watching JoJo! That Tikka is a lot of fun to shoot,

Mr. Browning, I have friends here in San Diego who are Brownings. By chance to you hail from the Dallas area? Or have family in San Diego?

2nd Norma 10-22. Once again the far left was flyer. vertical strinf (low) was not having a real rest. Looks good.
Thanks again! For some reason youtube glitched with my last response.
My Tikka and Bergara are my most accurate rifles.
Thanks for watching Boom! Yeah, I'm very happy with my Tikka purchase.
ELEY Match is really a good ammo.
Yes it is! Seems to shoot the best out of both rifles. Glad I bought a few boxes of it.
What the Tek aah? Should get the 19" or 20" Green Mountain ⛰️ barrel for the LVT. They have the same dimensions like Ruger & tapered.
Thanks for watching! I'll look into the Green Mountain barrels. I've heard that they produce a similar tapered barrel like the LVT.
@texmexshoots get the 19", they have both stainless & blued.
yes very good shot Tagar

You might want to try zeroing your scopes a little off the point of aim. That way you don’t shoot your aiming point out. Makes your groups smaller.
I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the advice!

Only the 3 Eley should be considered as match grade. The other three are plinking grade ammo.
But...but...but....they have "match" in their name 😁

I will admit, I have a habit of mispronouncing different words. But if you are talking about Aguila, in my defense it is produced in latin america.
You need better rest for these types of tests.
Yeah, that would probably help 😁 Do you have any recommendation?
Tika is a better 22 rifle not excuses
Thanks for watching Martin! The Tikka is definitely the most accurate 22 rifle I own.
