This is literally exactly what I needed!! Avengers style editing, Archer humor, & the exact way to fix my problem. I appreciate you two beyond my ability to describe to you. Thank youuuuu!!!!! 😁🙏🏾😎
Couple of corrections and hints. I just did this job. The lock is fitted with the Torx T40, not T45. The new lock needs to be opened manually the first time with the finger or screw driver, after that it works normally. If you take the whole front panel off, putting it back requires you to take all the panels off and then start putting them back from front to back. I figured this out the hard way.
Thanks so much!!! My buggy was broken in today, so bad!!! Could you please share the part number of your latch? The part number I found is 5M0827505F (or 5M0827505K), which asks me $180. But you said urs cost only $20, sound like the price for 5M0827505E.
this problem just reared it’s ugly head on my 2012 GTI, i’m gonna suck it up and take it to shop since I need state inspection anyway. Sadly inthink my driver door lock is failing also…..😢
@@CarsAndCoffeeKings haha thank you for responding! I have a 2.5 beetle 13’ and been thinking about working with it if we can’t get someone to re wire, ecu flash and swap for the rs3 engine I have sitting in the garage

I find it hysterical that you didn’t edit out the burp at 7:27. Perfection! 👌🤣
Dude! Thank you for this video. Replacing the camera on a 2019 Beetle and needed this tool, ran down to O'reily's and was back to work in no time!!!!
Thank you! Just had this exact same issue and this helped immensely. My Beetle’s trunk latches just fine now. :)
Damn it, you skipped how to snap that stupid body panel back on, where I am stuck now. Thank you for the fix though!!

I made it from a kids waterproof play mat
