Sweet! Very well done! I grew up with Joe's music. First stuff I learned on guitar. Thanks for the tone settings. Tough stuff to get good tone sometimes. Meadows would be a good one to do also. I sure appreciate your lessons. They help me fix a note here and there I may have gotten wrong.
Awesome! Thank you, Mark. You keep 'em coming, and I'll keep watching. Very gradually, you'll make me a better guitar player! The gradually, by the way, is my fault, not yours! :-)
Mark, I love your stuff and learn from it. Just one thought, a lot of times the recording sound other than when you talk is a bit tinny. I don't know what the answer is but I thought I would mention it.
Hi Ed. Thanks. Hmm, do you mean primarily the demo? I don't know much about recording and don't spend any time on the mixing. I've asked folks for help, but haven't gotten it yet. I just usually use a Zoom H1. If the video is over a year old, I'm using the mic on my phone. I don't want to invest and have the equipment not work ... or sit in boxes ... or worse, cause me to spend triple the time editing the videos. In any event, thanks for letting me know. I do this completely as a hobby. If I ever "graduate" I know I need to "up my game" with the recording! :)
Hi Ronnie. It was on GuitarBackingTrack.com, but that site was shut down due to lack of support. You can get a different version here. (Their work is usually pretty reliable.) www.karaoke-version.com/guitar-backing-track/joe-walsh/life-s-been-good.html
It's a Reverend Buckshot. Great guitar. Very solid and versatile guitar. I've had it for years. Reverend makes base-level professional instruments. They're not cheap, but they are very solid for the money.
Wow, really? It doesn't sound at all like that song to me. Different cadence, speed, melody. Did he say that in an interview or something? To me this solo sounds like Joe Walsh's style and note choice from back when he was in the James Gang. I mean, sure, major pentatonic scale. But the music seems very different to me. Would love to be enlightened here, because I love Houses of the Holy!
On the studio version there’s a weird part at the end that goes on for minutes, it’s Joe and his mates just going “wah wah wah” like geese or something hahaha
F-ing solo is so great...
Last phrase has always been my favorite part of this solo. Killer job!
That last phrase is super cool! Thanks man!
Well we'll, I can play that! Thanks man. Slow and steady. Walsh is clean and simple when you break that particular lead/solo down.
Yep, JW is not a complicated player. But he sure does pick good notes and play them well!
The great thing is I'm learning something new. I am a sub novice guitar player but I'm loving the time I spend playing my guitar
Awesome! Time well spent. As long as you enjoy learning and enjoy playing what you learn. Keep it fun!
The wait is over! I've been waiting for this notification for a long time my friend.
Sigh ... well, what can I say? The request list is a long one. Not quite Santa's list, but it's long enough! Hope you liked this one.
Mark Zabel absolutely the only lesson on RUclips that nails the tone and feel that joe plays with. Great job!
Always appreciate you talking about the tone. My greatest problem.
Thanks. I do my best to dial it in quickly, but I have issues too for sure!
Nice work Mark. Learned it much faster with your lesson. Keep em coming.
Thanks, will do!
Another great lesson Mark! Easy to follow! Love that Buckshot!! Go Bucks!

Thanks a ton! With Meadows, are you mostly looking for that main riff?
Mark Zabel oops! I meant County Fair. I just love the lead in that!
Okay, that makes sense. Long solo with a couple of guitar parts if I remember. Very cool one. Love Joe's sound on that song! I'll put it on the list!

The two guitarists that can make a one note solo - Joe Walsh and David Gilmour.
Oh, many more. Carlos did a number of them, Django was good at it. Others too.
{ + Great Song, Great Guitar Lesson, Rock On.! + }😎🎤🎸🎼🎧🔊🔊🔊😁💡🇺🇸🎥🎥🎥👍👍👍👍👍
Always appreciate the feedback Mark!!
That's great....How about the rest of the song?
Never mind me, Mark...I found your other tutorial....Thanks!
So many parts to this one. The solo is pretty straightforward, but also very nice!
Hey mark .. where can I get that backing track you’re using .. thanks
Hi Ronnie. It was on GuitarBackingTrack.com, but that site was shut down due to lack of support. You can get a different version here. (Their work is usually pretty reliable.) www.karaoke-version.com/guitar-backing-track/joe-walsh/life-s-been-good.html

That is a rad looking axe Mark - what is that?
It's a Reverend Buckshot. Great guitar. Very solid and versatile guitar. I've had it for years. Reverend makes base-level professional instruments. They're not cheap, but they are very solid for the money.
@@MarkZabel What is funny is right after I left you that message, I saw your 5 fave guitars vid and foudn out - they look really nice.
What guitar is this?
Reverend Buckshot
Ahhhhh....The song that Joe wrote mimicking Houses of The Holy from Page......
Wow, really? It doesn't sound at all like that song to me. Different cadence, speed, melody. Did he say that in an interview or something? Uh oh, here come a pack of wah wahs
??? Sounds vaguely right, but I'm not quite following.
On the studio version there’s a weird part at the end that goes on for minutes, it’s Joe and his mates just going “wah wah wah” like geese or something hahaha
NO TAB on this video...
There's a link to it in the description, as stated in the video.
