    FYI; This was the last of Pink Floyd as a band all though when Roger left he got all the rights to 'the Wall' . Except for 5 songs. Last under the Pink Floyd was the "Final Cut" which was 100 % Roger's work as the album cover says " Music performed by pink floyd and Rick Wright was not officially with the Floyd.

    BTW missing from the album, but included in the film was the track
    "When the Tigers Broke Free" Roger Waters father was killed in WW2 while Roger was just a baby.
    Roger has strong feelings about those who sent his father to die, especially those sitting far from the fighting.

    It's common and not unjustified to think 'Pink' is talking about suicide; but in context, he has just finished putting the metaphorical Bricks in his metaphorical Wall (of isolation). Goodbye Cruel World is him mentally dissociating from the world.
