I think is amazing that the shotgun banned embroidery and fancy woven fabrics because they wanted to preserve gold threads, silk, and wanted to keep luxury goods out of the public, so the public got around it by paining their kimonos and using special dying techniques, which made kimonos even more beautiful and luxurious looking.
@ obvious auto correct is obvious
"Banned" from those who could afford those things at the time -
which likely
weren't very many
And irrelevant to the everyone else,
since banned or not banbed
- they couldn't afford it already.
So there isnt a 'Get around' a ban
Its a 'get around' of affording luxury
The same thing goes on today
With everything , not just fabrics.
What about those who couldn't afford even the cheapest textiles or fabrics?

Heh, this reminds me of when I was really little and went to a Japanese garden and saw two little girls my age wearing kimonos and I was so jealous. I’ve always wanted to wear one but with me being a boy, and not wanting to be canceled that’s never gunna happen.
I don't think that should stop you. My younger brother is also fascinated by the level of care and detail more commonly found in female kimonos, compared to the muted, subtle nature of male kimonos. Part of it is a historical change with style preferences. But still, I think anyone would look great in a kimono. It just depends on the art/story you'd like it to show ☺️🙏✨
I’ve been thinking about if men wanted to wear more glamorous kimono like women. I’d love to see how it looks. Go for it.
@@zerokiryuu3387 some male kimonos can be glamourous too whilst still clearly being for males, but its rarer.
