A most elegant lady and a most graceful human being....she is as lovely as all good things.....and an excellent demonstration.....calm.....most grateful to this this lovey japanese lady...love from England on a summers day.xxx
This was very interesting. At last I now know how to wear a kimono and tie the obi. I have both, my Dad having bought them for my Mum on a trip to Japan 52 years ago. Still beautifully wrapped in the original box. I can’t wait to try😊
I used to practice Odori in elementary school and I was wondering if I could still remember the process for putting on a Kimono and I was surprised at how much I remembered. ..mannn this brings me back :)
As much as I like kimonos and want to get one, I have no place to go wearing one and it would look very strange here. I am wondering if there is a sort of "house coat" that you can wear around the house, or on the porch if I am smoking a cig, sorta like a lounging type of robe or something like that. I believe it make be called nemaki or something like that. I also found haori and I would like to get one of those as I could wear that with some outfits that I have. Another problem is that I am fat and I can't seem to find anything for fat women.
Corporate Coffee Futures there isn’t really a “housecoat”. (The casual thing to wear in a house would be a yukata (unlined summer kimono most often made of an open weave cotton) I’m thinking. I’m heavy too, but I can find larger kimono that often have extra material in the seams. I take it apart, take the extra material out of the seams and put it back together and then it fits. Sakura Market sells yukata for larger sized women. If you can find a kimono shop in America, sometimes they have larger sizes. I found a lady in Pasadena that had a beautiful large sized kimono for me. (Shibori!! I was so excited ...) I have yet to find a haori that fits me. I’m thinking that if I want one, I’ll have to make it. Good luck!

I had no idea how complex the kimono and obi fittings are! This is a wonderful tutorial! I am going to watch it again, now!

This video would be so much better without this music. Hard to hear what she is saying. Sub titles or not, always better in the voice.

Thank you brothers and sisters.
Unfortunately not all Japanese can wear kimono.
if you do not poot gut material in the ,,KIMONO,, it,s not a kimono anymore, it,s a shower cloth.
I have no idea what happened.
That was the most complicated clothe origami thing I’ve ever seen. I’m not confident I can do this 😰😰😰😰
