As a ski instructor I wear a helmet half of the year and started to see my hair thinning so my dermatologist recommended Minoxidil. In France, 2% and 5% is sold in local drugstores or para-pharmacies. 2% cost 29,99€ and 5% cost 39,99€. I used 2% for 6 Mos and didn't see results. At 5% (usually only sold for male hair loss) for 6 Mos, I did see results in little fuzzy hairs growing around my forehead. However, when I stopped using it, all the results faded drastically. I think it's useful for increasing little hair growth to get the impression of fuller hair, but long term is a waste of money and effort. Maybe the fact my hair is covered and not breathing is part of it.
I watched every one of your videos (so informative). Over here in the French/ Swiss Alps, we are exposed to high altitudes, harsh wind, cold and heavy sun.
As winter months, snow and ski season are coming, I have another question regarding SPF. I currently switched my regular Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ for the new "tinted" version to avoid using an extra BB cream afterwards. Do you get the same SPF coverage from the tinted? Is there any scientific proof on this?
Also, there is a new scientific report on chapsticks (lip SPF's) in France, stating the top 10 detrimental ones including Avene, Uriage, Carmex due to BHT. Could you recommend an effective clean SPF for lips?
Much love and best wishes to you.

Just had rare side effect yesterday. Ended in hospital for angina. Be careful guys if you still have the old foam cans. Because when its coming to an end and its not foaming anymore, it came out as liquid. And i believe i the half a lid cup was equivalent to more than recommended dosage. I had chest pain, trouble breathing and dizziness.

I used Monoxidil 5% about 4 or 5 years ago. My hairline started to "M". The Monoxidil created a good amount of thinner hair that covered both of the tops of the "M". The hair remains to this day and my forehead is not receding. I went through 5 small bottles of it. Now I will try it on my thinning eyebrows!

This is so true. I come with a list of questions when I see my derm and she has her hand on the door trying to leave within 2 minutes. I hate it. It takes so long to get in to see a dermatologist and when u do, they have to get you out as soon as possible. This is why I love watching Andrea. She’s honest and has the time to tell me important information that my personal derm does not. Not sure what it is about Andrea that has me coming back as there are several derms on RUclips, but I always come back to her.

I have noticed a teeny bit more translucent peach fuzz on my face since starting minoxidil use, which a weekly shave fixes. : )

I use Rogaine and have the best way to apply - through trial and error - buy a metal demitasse cup and saucer and keep t in the freezer. When you take it out to apply the Minoxidil, put the plastic can cap inside the cup. When you spray the foam, it will blow up higher in the cap and you will find the very last of the foam will be as firm as the first. Easy and 100 percent of the time, the foam will stay firm and if you're like me, you'll use less to cover your target areas.

I just started recently. I am about a week and 2 days into minoxidil 5% for men. Hoping that it works because I am 30 years old and just start noticing that my widow's peak is gradually becoming a bit steeper, so I am making sure to spread it around especially to the left and right of my widow's peak. I know that it is only FDA approved for hair loss on the crown rather than receding hair, but there are so many stories of guys that have been able to grow thick "minoxidil beards" which actually look good and indistinguishable from a naturally grown thick beard. I am certainly glad it is generic because I picked up a six month supply on Amazon (smallest amount you can purchase for this generic brand). Fortunately, my six month supply was a little cheaper than a 3 month supply of other brands, and I believe it was cheaper than just 1 month of actual Rogaine for Men.
I also am looking into supplements/nutritional ways to encourage hair growth or at least slow down or halt hair loss. So far I have a biotin supplement and a collagen supplement on the way.

After watching this video, I ordered Rogaine foam--5% concentration. I think the foam type is a newer formulation. It is my understanding that the foam version does not contain propylene glycol, so if sensitively to this substance is a factor, this may be a good alternative. The foam is very easy to target to the intended area, without having the product drip in unwanted areas.

Also no hair loss anywhere in my family on both sides. None. Only diagnosed with CTE by the other 3 derms. No surprise I’ve had severe stress for 12 months. Can biopsies sometimes be wrong?
