I love red mantels and dragons seen in this episode they’re just two old men that only have each other because probably all her friends and family are dead by age or simply being in their lifestyle
Well Novia’s boyfriends and husbands probably got killed by her arches or something, it’s a pretty dangerous lifestyle after all Edit1: Desmond was just a butler at that point, and arching a different Captain Sunshine just for the brand wouldn’t be very climactic of a last arch anyway so they probably just skipped him
Don't worry, you aren't dumb with the Novia thing. I was always confused about it too until I realized that she was a hero in the same city as Wide Wale's "protection" crew from S6 Ep 1. My theory is Night Dick (hee hee) was using Doc's libido and connections to OSI as a way to get revenge on her because she was an actual hero who wasn't on the take. That would explain why she's so cagey with Doc about her past and makes it that much funnier when he says what happened after the "date" in the next episode.
I've never watched Jonny Quest. The only reason I know it even exists is because of this show. While I've seen this episode before, I had no idea that Dr. Z's flashback was meant to be a direct reference to a specific episode of that show. That's a fun bit of trivia that I didn't know until now. Thanks.
I was born after the year 2000 but I’ve seen every episode of Johnny quest multiple times. I didn’t have Cartoon Network but I had boomerang and I watched the fuck out of that show. I remember seeing the venture bros on adult swim once we finally got Cartoon Network but I only came to appreciate what it was in the last few years.
From the second I saw Novia I immediately thought she was obviously supposed to be Sirena's mom and that they would reveal that, but nope I don't know why I thought that tbh, but it made too much sense in my brain, I was waiting for some sort of reveal the whole episode/rest of the season On a rewatch I don't really know what made me think that so strongly
Isn't it possible Novia was marrying and killing dangerous men and thats how she can still be seen as good? Lets consider, Doc has brought weapons and a alligator(by accident) to a peace summit, helped create a zombie nation, and almost did become a super villain with a bit of pushing from Dr. Killenger. She probably had no plans to kill Rusty because it was obvious he didn't deserve to die by her hands. This would also keep Night Dick's statement true, since she really did kill her husbands and probably took the money to support her lifestyle.
yes, it was a great episode i also loved the comment about the phatom winning a measure contest against a one that switched genders like somone eats breakfast, by a hair. With isn't quite as impresive as he thinks.
Excellent review as always! Loved this episode for all the subplots and back story. If I remember right, Red Death has the scene where he ties Blind Rage up and has another brilliant speech. I think Blind Rage got out of it and the movie will have an inter-guild war. I can't wait to find out!
Sending Red Mantle and Dragoon against Desmond doesn't seem quite fair for any of those three at their age. Watch and Ward probably didn't want all three of them to die during the arching, and therefore didn't suggest Desmond. Alternatively, I have seen it theorized that Desmond might actually have died at some point between his last appearance and this episode. That would make the statement that they outlived all their archenemies true.
Phantom limb lives in a pent house, where ever he got the money Radical lefts house resembles two faces lair from batman forever Jonny's friend hadji been around for awhile but here he's a native north american indian instead Radical left and right wing play the board game clue I love you can tell exactly what hunter says on the phone after you find out what him and phantom limb did on a second viewing Roboy still lives with Dr z I like to think Jonny actually moved in
Around 4:44 you made a little mistake with blind rage You said that this episode introduces blind range when he actually appeared a few episodes earlier and is addressed by his super hero name in the cafe This is the first time (and last time) we’ve seen him in his costume but it isn’t his introduction
Alright, I scrubbed through the entire season and I don't see the scene you're talking about. Earlier in THIS episode they meet up with him at Vincenzo's, maybe you're thinking of that?
I never realised the braille on Blind Rage's costume until today. Pretty cool! : )

Glad you enjoyed it because that clip got this video demonetized, but I thought it was too fun not to include!

Anything is possible in the Ventureverse.
I love this episode, but mostly for the B plot of the Guild Council. I'm surprised nobody mentioned that this is the episode with the Train Lesson.

I like the Lady Au Pair outfit, it's a very nice shade of purple and it's cute.

It was a full inch!
I was confused about all the same things you were the first time I watched this episode

The L.A. looks line made me laugh because that was the first hair gel I ever used
I do love all the moments with the villains. Sadly.this ep is weighed.down by the venture subplot
Anyone flashback to myra when dr venture said notngross?

@@BillTheSpill oh my bad I thought that was a completely different episode for some reason your right
I was always confused on whether or not she was actually meant to be a black widow
Why would she go from being a hero to killing random men for money?
Isn't she the wandering spider's wife? Or widow
Whoa, I have never considered this!
You know, you should fo the same threatment for the movies that are made by Illumination.
