Okay, for one, you missed my point about factory farms being a bad thing. Two, hunting for food is natural, that's why it's been utilized over generations of species. Three, If that gator had gotten to the turtle first, he would have ripped it to shreds while it was alive, and I doubt you would shame him for it. This man ended the turtle's life as painlessly as he could. Four, not everyone can physically go without meat, so I congratulate those who get it in the most natural, humane way as possible. I also congratulate those who are able to go without it, though I worry if they are getting all of the right nutrients, as it can be hard to do for some people.

I started smiling when I read the title and had fond memories from my childhood from the moment you unraveled the line on the stick :) I remember my Mom and Grandma fishing the canals on Hwy 60 out by Ft Drum. She would catch them and put in bushel baskets and come home and clean them. She had a sharp hook on a tree and would hang them up and shell them out just as you did. We usually had it for Sunday dinner and she would fry it up in pieces and quartered like chicken. Thanks for the memories.

This is very common in the south. It's not "sad" or "cruel" they're killed instantly and feel nothing. It's no different than fish really. I personally don't care for turtle I'd rather eat gator. Those who think this is sad you apparently have never been to a beef or poultry farm/killing house. Alot of those places are extremely cruel to the animals there.
I am totally fine with people eating animals they catch/hunt/fish or whatever; and I agree that 99.9% of anyone who catches animals to eat kills them humanely and quickly. But animals do feel pain. All animals have a sense of touch and pain that is directly analogous to our own nervous system -- including fish. It is just a little lie we tell ourselves to feel better about killing an animal. This is WHY it is important to kill your prey quickly and humanely. The ability to react to outside stimuli is usually a quality that we use to determine if something is alive, and in that manner it could be said that even plants can feel a more limited form of 'pain'. It is important to remember that without consuming other living organisms we do not survive -- it is our nature.

Plus, to watch an adventure, and get a recipe almost daily, is God Bless you in all you do, my archery hunter, avid fisherman since ten, husband had a virus(not COVID) attack his heart profoundly weakening a right chamber. He had to rest, my son showed him RUclips, and shows argift I cannot even express the importance it has meant to his being able to enjoy the rest he needs. The doctors hoped his heart would improve enough he can get a pace maker, we got word last Friday he will be scheduled for it in one month

I have seen a number of these videos, and being a former Minnesota outdoors man, I can seriously relate to these wonderful videos. I stopped fishing and hunting, because of so much poaching in Minnesota. Very sad, because the outdoors is something I love. This is a good Christian family that puts people first. I would watch this series over anything from Gordon Ramsay. He is a great chef, and I love his techniques, but his level of animation on TV kills it for me. I just don't care for a lot of animation. People need to understand that for some hunting, cleaning, and eating these animals is a way of life for some. It's not done maliciously or to hang a trophy on the wall. I'm not against trophy hunting so long as the animals are in abundance, which you're always aware of and cautious to avoid. I started smiling when I read the title and had fond memories from my childhood from the moment you unraveled the line on the stick :) I remember my Mom and Grandma fishing the canals on Hwy 60 out by Ft Drum. She would catch them and put in bushel baskets and come home and clean them. She had a sharp hook on a tree and would hang them up and shell them out just as you did. We usually had it for Sunday dinner and she would fry it up in pieces and quartered like chicken. Thanks for the memories.

This is very common in the south. It's not "sad" or "cruel" they're killed instantly and feel nothing. It's no different than fish really. I personally don't care for turtle I'd rather eat gator. I have seen a number of these videos, and being a former Minnesota outdoors man, I can seriously relate to these wonderful videos. I stopped fishing and hunting, because of so much poaching in Minnesota. Very sad, because the outdoors is something I love. This is a good Christian family that puts people first. I would watch this series over anything from Gordon Ramsay. He is a great chef, and I love his techniques, but his level of animation on TV kills it for me. I just don't care for a lot of animation.
