when she says "i just realized, it's too early for me," I know she probably means she's not ready to do this emotionally, but it makes me laugh as someone who can't function in the morning
"I just realized it's too early for me..." saying while scatters her mom's ashes. I am not sure if I cry or laugh... The whole scene was so well written but her performance made it work so much!
I had problems with White Lotus overall but watched this scene over and over just to study Jennifer Coolidge's great work, walking the tightrope between hilarity and tragedy. Almost all the major players in White Lotus have received Emmy nominations,, but Coolidge deserves to win it.
off topic but i was just writing a comment of my own and i wrote that she's always ''tightrope walking between being tragic and ridiculous'' and i scroll down to see you've used the exact same phrasing. i don't know if this idiom is common in english since i'm not a native speaker but i just thought it was neat that we used the same expression lol
im sure they did 😂 but in the original scene they have to be serious. I would love to see the bloopers though, I’m sure they laughed a lot behind the scenes.
When I first watched season 1, I found her character a bit annoying in a funny way. I just wanted to know more about everyone else's story, because I had no idea how central of a character she'd end up being. Now that we've followed her character all the way to the end of season 2, the eulogy for her mom means a lot more to me.
She couldn’t even talk to Belinda about her mother. She got tearful. Not hard to see she was very damaged and in a lot of pain. It’s very clear and she’s suppose to be annoying to those who simply can’t see her pain at all. Perfect example those nasty girls and Shane.
I love season 2, don’t get my wrong. But scenes like this one from season 1 make me really miss the humor that was present in season 1. This scene is so funny, along with so many other scenes from season 1. I miss that while watching season 2.
How she interrupts the couple to move their table immediately told me this was gonna be a funny scene.
"And...she was a NYMPHOMANIAC!"
I laughed way too hard at this line!
I laughed, I cried, I cringed until I died, but I loved every second of it.
I just love how Belinda looked so sympathetic the whole time 😂
its because she wants her $$
Belinda had spent enough time with Tanya to understand what a mess she was. And it was a great contrast with the others who didn't have any idea.
when she says "i just realized, it's too early for me," I know she probably means she's not ready to do this emotionally, but it makes me laugh as someone who can't function in the morning
Even though she didn't have any maternal instincts....or skills😂😂😂
My mother told me I'd never be a ballerina and that was when I was skinny!😁
"Goodbye mother" into the ashes sent me into another dimension
i dont know should i laugh or cry she is magnificent
I did both!
Laugh and very loudly
She’s an increíble story teller that’s Why.
tanya's always tightrope walking between being tragic and being ridiculous and coolidge just pulls it off perfectly
I never noticed that she opens the bag of ashes and yells "goodbye mother" into it ,😂
Also the first handful of ashes hits the waiter in his face.

It was to early for her in season 1 but not in season 2. Sad but a very unforgettable performance.
Just lost it when she calls her mother a nymphomaniac 😭😭
I really feel like the dude was tryna hold in his laughter soooo hard and I feel him😮💨🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s so horrifyingly sad but I am in hysterics of laughter each time I watch it.
Oh mother mother mother mother always gets mee 😆

And win she did.
It was a very intelligent show. It's a social commentary on our current times. What seems to be the problem? Whose POV are you watching the show from?
@@charmedprince I didn't seem to have a problem with it, I loved the show. Can't say enough positive things about this show

Episode 3 was a comedy masterpiece. Couldn't stop laughing. genius writing and acting
The exact speech I’ll be giving at my mothers funeral 🥂
I said the same thing!
Same here sis. I watch it to memorize it.
YUP
Except I don't miss her and she's already dead to me.
😂
I don't know how they were able to get through this scene without laughing
You can see the dude trying not to smile sometimes 😂😂
And she was seasick, puking into a bucket between takes which makes it even more epic to me lol

@@joyce_ribeiro03Or at the script readings.
Oh my motherrrr......motherrrr....motherr.....
There should be a lipsync battle in Rupaul’s dragrace using her entire monologue!! 😂
My poor mother. She had a beautiful house in Carmel 😂😂
This is one of the only times a tv show/movie has made me ball crying
Genius. Pure genius in this scene.
I'm gonna perform this monologue tomorrow for my theatre class final. I haven't memorised it yet. And it's already past 1am. 💀
did they like it
@@winter9741 Actually, they really liked it and found it hilarious. I finished the class with an A 😝

EMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m disgusted with the Hollywood foreign press for completely overlooking this series, particularly Jennifer Coolidge’s performance
Done!
I LOATHE how she was sippin that champagne

I loved this scene 😆
I HAVE WATCHED HER IN THIS PART LIKE 20 TIMES...
