Jennifer describing how she's attracted to angry chefs is all of us
she's so real, she's amazing
@@youyeedyourlasthaw fr
Absolutely! Hostile chefs = passionate at least in my experience lol married to a chef for 15 years lol
I KNEW THIS WOULD BE THE TOP COMMENT. JUST KNEW.
She must if watched his show bear
I’m so glad Jeremy is FINALLY getting recognized for his acting. Him as Lip Gallagher made Shameless what it was. Incredible actor.
Yes 100% !! Loved Lip.
Yes! He made me want to cry even when he is supposed to be happy.
Well everyone’s acting in Shameless was top tier. But I get your meaning.
He's an incredible talent 🌟
Absolutely. Shameless was pure trash after Season 1 . This guy did it for me.
Her unabashed flirting and his awkward pauses brought me so much joy.
You know he was just soaking it up.
It's kinda crazy how similar they are. They're definitely at different stages in their lives, but both Jeremy and Jennifer have been working extremely hard for YEARS with little to no critical/ mainstream love or recognition who finally receive it for roles they didn't expect to go anywhere.
Lip has been a fan favourite for yyeaaarsss in Shameless. I think he feels like he wasn't noticed by the industry, not the fans per se. He is mainstream, but for one role, it must get increasingly discouraging. I'm glad he's doing new stuff now.
I'm so happy for them. They got in some of the best shows the last decade has given us. And they are terrific.
I know! At first I thought, well, this is an odd pairing. But it totally worked, because they are both so comfortable with who they are.
Jennifer totally stole Legally Blonde - that bend/twist thing!
@@itsmj3103yeah he absolutely found a following there, but he wasn’t super known outside the world of shameless
This is possibly the first time I've seen Jennifer do her natural voice and persona. She even does her persona during her awards acceptance speeches and I love seeing the real her. Just like how Paris Hilton dropped her persona recently, she too has a much deeper natural voice.
Exactly my point. Outside the faux dumb blonde persona. I almost thought that is how she really is.
She's exactly like this in her role on the white lotus
@@alissabuhl2775 she's really not. just from watching this, her body language and the intensity of her sentences are very different.
@michelle well of course she's not acting a part here. But her new character in white lotus sounds much closer to her actual voice than her past character from the early 2000s which is what the op was referring to
@@alissabuhl2775 nope, I was including her white lotus character as well as her recent awards acceptance speeches at the Emmys, Golden Globes and SAG awards when saying I haven't heard her real voice before.
I love seeing how Jennifer Coolidge and Pedro Pascal are having their moments right now later in life
Agree! Hope the moment will be long lasting.
This just shows how life doesn't stop at 30, 40, etc.
@spacebar9733 Like the great Judge Judy has said before, "If you didn't make it in your 20s, you can make it in your 30s. If you didn't make it in your 30s, you can make it in your 40s, and if you didn't make it in your 40s, you can make it in your 50s. Never too late. So, have fun. That's what it's all about."
@@mattbernabe Judge Judy fo life❤💯

"These gays are trying to murder me" 😂
Easily one of the funniest lines that Jennifer has ever delivered. I can see that line become a meme 😂😂
I am semi reguarly on the LGBTQ tik tok community. The line 100% is a meme.
I love the tom wambsgans pfp 💀
that line has been a meme both on Twitter and Tiktok LMAOOOO we love Jennifer too much
That line will never not be funny lmao
it already is a meme
It always annoyed me that Jeremy was always overlooked by award shows when he was on shameless, his performance always stood out to me. It’s great that people have now realised how insanely talented he is. I hope he wins the Emmy 🤞
He definitely winning. He already has the Golden Globes, Critics Choice, and The SAG
He at least should win this year. Considering the reception to the last season of Ted Lasso I think he should win comfortably.
He always got overshadow by emmy and William.
Yes
@@hakeemsesay15 Emmy acted her ass off
I love how honest Jennifer is that she didn't ride the 90s wave because she was chasing guys or whatever. Of course she's anazing fun on screen, but she comes across as so real in this interview too
Absolutely hahaha, also how she says she’s attracted to chefs cause they’re dominant or saying how she struggles with life as it is let alone in a safari 😂😂
@@splashmorales1886 Jennifer into degradation kinks lol
She's so Real for saying she has struggles with insecurity in her acting if they don't say anything 😅 and not hopping on the wave as she was distracted. It's good when we see the toxic patterns, and change 🙂💚😊
Jennifer flirting with Jeremy at any chance is all of us.
He's always had the good acting chops since shameless, his eyes say it all. I love these one on one conversations.
someone tell jeremy that he was hands down one of the best actors in shameless and he should’ve gotten incredible recognition for it and he ABSOLUTELY BELONGS in hollywood
Jeremy, Emmy and William Macy truly carried those performances
Him and Emmy 100%
Yess I've been a JAW stan since Shameless first season he is pure talent!
I agree but Emmy really did most of the heavy lifting. Carried tf outta that show for the years she was on. I didn't know she had it in her prior to her casting, but she really gave it her all. A raw and unfiltered, emotionally unrestrained mess. I'm just impressed by her
Emmy and Him. I throw in Cam as well he’s super underrated in his role. He portrayed a bi polar man very well
Imagine getting the chance to interview the one and only Jennifer Coolidge
It'd be like talking to myself in the mirror. 😂😂😂👍👍👍
I would’ve told her she’s a legend more than Jeremy did. I would’ve made sure she understood her impact on the culture
Thomas wambsgans fans
It’d make me want a hot dog real bad, I’d be so excited.
Stiflers mom! Yesss!
Shoutout to Jeremy’s Hairstylist who is an icon for having the Jennifer Coolidge Candle.
This 💯
This pairing is genius lol. Loved the conversation, Jennifer was so real and vulnerable. Jeremy was incredibly earnest and endearing. Very entertaining. 10/10
Dude looks like he's holding back tears all the time and yet there's something poetic about the way he looks
Okay I agree. I actually believe it's because he has blue eyes, he might have extra sensitive eyes, especially with the heavy lights. I have brown eyes but mine are very sensitive to sunlight, it makes you tear up and u either blink constantly or tear up.
lol
@@spacebar9733 Yep I have blue eyes too and like there was a massive camera light across the street from me like I turned around to see what was happening. Like I had blurry vision for about 10 minutes and I just looked at the light for 5s.... But it's his job to have massive lights in his face. I dont know 🤗
very gene wilder
you're not kidding, I'm having terrible internet problems so the video always sticks for loading and everytime the camera turns on him, it sticks and he always looks like he's about to cry 😭
Her honesty with not understanding things and struggling to do basic tasks is gold.
Jennifer is such a girly girl. Like it just feels like she’s in her early twenties!!! Her flirtatious nature and awkwardness and self-consciences almost as if she doesn’t understand her charm and captivity that she keeps people in!! Obsessed with her
This is a great take of her!!!
yeah. And it's interesting how I would usually think that leaning into that so heavily does women - and herself - a disservice and is mostly is a shtick (thinking that way also signifies how partriachal our society overall is though) but it feels authentic for her and that is frankly great.
*consciousness
Jeremy has no idea how incredible he was in Shameless. He DOES deserve a place in the industry and it’s amazing to see him being praised for his work
When Jennifer recalled those regrets about her early career breakout, sorting through her memories and emotions in real time, she looked like she was talking to a therapist. And the way Jeremy sat in the chair with his legs crossed, relaxed but totally attentive, looked exactly like a non-judgmental therapist. Impeccable complementary vibes!
Can't quite understand why she has a career at all.
"Maybe she could come back as a seagull and poke Greg's eyes out." The silent laughter behind this was perfect. An unexpected duo but now I want so much more with these two.
@@clutterlilly Not anymore.
If Jeremy doesn’t do a Gene Wilder biopic I don’t know why Hollywood is even bothering with filmmaking anymore.
This times infinity to the infinite power. This needs to happen ASAP.
OMG Yes!!!
Blown away, that's inspired casting right there 😁
Good eye! I agree; he would be perfect for it.
Or Robert Mitchum
Whoever saw the thread between these two and paired them up is GENIUS. They're both such talented, beloved actors who have such a strong cult fanbase. Known for a few iconic pieces of work, FINALLY being recognized even more seriously. Everyone loves em and their characters. They're funny and genuine and private but open. Love this duo!
He was great as Lip, though everyone in Shameless was good.
I'm definitely heart-broken that show went to the toilet season 4/5 onwards.
He could have easily been goofy and playful all the time not taking her serious because that's the idea how many people see her but no, he respectfully asked very professional questions about her career and roles and attentively listened to them! I loved it 💜 And she was a good listener too 💚
Such a good point! It was such a relaxed but earnest exchange, it was great.
That's just not his personality.
It’s so good to see both of them getting so much awards and positive attention, Jeremy helped to CARRY Shameless emotionally for years and the Bear is so good, and Jennifer is just an icon Queen who should rule the world
Variety knew what they were doing with THIS one THIS month lol
lmfaooo i didnt even realize😭😭
They have other pairs coming up that are promising.
Also Melanie Lynskey and Natasha Lyonne
I’m glad someone said it 😂
@@kristinalfc5846 OMG???
The person that thought about getting this two together for this is a genius
this woman describing why she will never get on a boat again is me and i love her
One of Jeremy Allen White's many talents....... he is a great listener.
This is why he’s a great actor 🤷🏻♀️
His eyes when he’s listening intently
Jennifer not answering any question and just telling whatever the hell she wants is the weirdest and best thing 😂
I feel like Jeff Goldblum does that too - it's a genius life skill
The unexpected duo that I never thought I needed!!
If you already loved Jennifer before, this interview only intesified the love for her. What a phenomenal human being she is!
Jennifer Coolidge is so pretty to me. She and Jeremy both have cultivated quirky images, yet command gravitas beyond them.
In some of Jennifer's recent interviews and acceptance speeches, she's been saying, "I've been enjoying this ride I've been on" and, "This could be it."
It's pretty much meaning the ride isn't going to last very long.
I sincerely hope some directors are going to be offering Jennifer some great material to continue to show her range as an actress. After White Lotus, hopefully, there will be more opportunities and awards coming her way. Love her.
Jennifer Coolidge talking about having the hots for angry chefs had me rolling on the floor, but also, she's so real for that.
haha love it
The Bear is the best new show I've seen in the past 5-10 years
Should I watch it?
@@aurwood68 yes! It’s a great show and season 2 is coming out June 22 I believe
@@nicolej6358ARE YOU SERIOUS???? I'M SO EXCITED
I love that Jennifer Coolidge appreciates the Tanya Cosplay.
As someone who's a culinary arts graduate and has been in the food industry for 10 years, I appreciate Jeremy and the writers highlighting the REALITY of being a chef in the industry. It's chaos, work long hours, obsess over your craft, sleep, repeat. So great to hear that's why they kept a love interest out
Actors on Actors: Underdog Edition, more like. They truly represent the underdog of the industry.
jeremy allen white is who matt healy wishes he was
SO ACCURATE
Not this spill….😊
HAHA great take lmao 😂
REAL
No need to pit two beautiful queens against each other
This was soooo fucking enjoyable. I smiled non-stop.
Also, the flirting, chemistry and genuine admiration was so cute to see.
It was just perfect.
Jeremy is SO sweet and attentive. What a doll.
Anyone that has watched Shameless already knew what a talent Jeremy is and hated how he was always snubbed for his performance as Lip. I'm glad he is finally getting the recognition he deserves
The confidence in her flirting 🔥🔥
I really liked the vulnerability both displayed when she spoke about not riding the wave and chasing the wrong guys and she could finally quit waiting tables in her 30s and how Jeremy worked so hard for years to get noticed. And shooting a pilot of The Bear and waiting for 6 months. It tells you how difficult an artist’s journey is and yet they continue to show up and stay patient and then a day comes when they finally get to hold that Emmy. Nothing inspires more! Thanks for this pair. ❤
Jennifer is the epitome of ADHD (not a Doctor) but I identify with her SO much. She embodies empathy! It’s difficult explaining things but it makes sense in my head.
Agreed. Communication can be difficult but comprehension is key.
She’s so pretty! 😍 Love how honest, relatable, & transparent she is!
She a Fine art fo shoo !

This pairing is everything
whoever decided to pair these two up on the Variety Team is a GENIUS
we need a jeremy allen white candle too
YES!!!!
Hearing Jennifer Coolidge speak in her normal voice will forever be mind blowing 😂❤
I love her. She’s more iconic than mother. She’s stepmother.
YESSSSSS SHE IS SO STEPMOTHER
What???? 😩😩😩😅
Imma post this on twitter 😭
What the 😂
The chemistry of both is off the charts, whether is implicit flirtation or awkwardness, they are both charming and beautiful. Hope they find the right story and do a series together 🎞🖤
whoever was behind linking these two icons together gets a DIRECT path to heaven
Okay but this actually is a duo we didn’t know we needed - LOVE THIS PAIRING
As a bisexual, this is too much 🥵
I don't feel your pain, but I understand it....TWO GORGEOUS PEOPLE!!!
On GAWD
And, too for me as a gay man!
Mike White needs to make a Tanya Prequel. She’s literally the star of the show.
that’s such a good idea! i hope this isn’t the last we see of her
Jennifer is such a Queen for representing me in saying those few last sentences to Jeremy 😊
She had me smiling through the whole interview. She's such a funny and genuine soul. I love her so much.
is it just me or could he play a GREAT Gene Wilder if a biopic was ever made??
I just texted that to somebody when I shared this interview. I think he’d be amazing!
Yesss!
The chemistry between these two is sizzling
Jennifer makes everything seem so accidental and serendipitous her acting choices and she seems to be so ephemeral in her approach (if she has one). This interview really showcases her as a person. Her natural charm and magnetism along with his earnest curiosity and calm is so perfect!
I can tell Jeremy Allen White will be the next generations Joaquin Phoenix if he keeps at it.
Honestly I didn't know who he was before this interview- like legit I've never heard of him- but he's got my attention 😳
He's really good at playing his character from shameless
“And in the middle of all that, look you in the eye….and…uh…anyway” Jennifer getting lost in Jeremy’s eyes 😍
How does Jennifer not know how much we have all loved her for FOREVER?!?!?! I mean, yeah, now we are seeing even more parts of her...but she has never been part of any movie or TV show that she didn't add the IT factor it needed to be successful. What would 2 Broke Girls have been without her. Funny show, but with Jennifer, it made that show appointment TV for me.
OMG them dragging Jennifer on the sofa is just EPIC. Cant get enough
I never realized how easy he seems to talk to. Wow. As everyone else is saying in the comments though, really happy he's finally getting recognition. Also, she is a REALLY good interviewer. Using her own experiences to ask him questions, and help him feel more comfortable opening up and being vulnerable like this. The audience gets to see a totally different side to him (and her) as people and professionals.
best duo im obsessed
I think Jeremy killed it as a chef. I'm a cook, have been working and running different kitchens with different people and cultures since I was 17 years old. Kitchen life definitely transforms you completely. You need to be a strong person, both physically and mentally, to work in a great kitchen. Otherwise, you'll never make it. Keep it up, Jeremy, you are killing it.🇵🇷🔥👨🏻🍳
I love how Jennifer just rants about all the people who put obstacles in her career in such a clever way that 'if you know what I'm saying, you know'.
She does not have all the support on set or in her personal life that she deserves because she's a smart powerful woman and people belittle her for that. Love you both babes!!❤
"Anyone could get rid of you on a boat" true life lesson from Mother
She's so humble and adorable
what a genuine and actually interesting conversation - actually learning about acting and the world of acting
the amount of love i have for Jennifer and how happy i am she's now being seen YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!
What an absolute gem of a combo for this!
Loved this conversation, thank you
UNEXPECTED but WORKS LIKE A CHARM.
I’m so glad that Jennifer is finally getting the recognition she deserves!
It seems that before this show, people haven’t always been kind to her.
It’s wild how she doesn’t realize how truly, overwhelmingly loved she is by all of us!! “Flukey moment” like what!! You are a gem and iconic in everything you do, we love you JC! ❤
I completely loved this interview! Felt very sincere.
you guys keep slaying with these pairings. jeremy allen white is the actor i've been obsessed with since last year. and JC is just so cool.
Whoever did the pairings this year … thank you
the duo I never knew I needed!
so excited for season 2 of The Bear! 🙌
Jeremy is such an incredible actor. So in touch with his essence, truthful to every emotion. You deserve all your flowers. Keep shining
Jennifer is such a fox. She’s a babe plus she has a fabulous character.
This conversation was so lovely!
Variety has been killing it with the 'actors on actors' pairings! 🤩
i live for this unexpected interview
This is GREAT CASTING. Well done, Variety.
This was such an amazing interview. I love how sincere it was and the energy from both actors. They balanced very well without detracting from each other while simultaneously showing their individuality and elevating the conversation.
I'd love to see them on a project together. They are both amazing! And I love them both so much ❤❤
Additionally, Jennifer's insight about taking responsibility for your life is priceless wisdom. And I'm happy we all got to hear that and maybe put that hard-earned wisdom to use in our own lives. Thank you Ms. Jennifer Coolidge. 👑
As much as I'd love to see Jeremys Character in the Bear grow outside of his expertise and little world he has built for himself - I am not sure he actually needs a love interest. Just like Roy and Jamie on Ted Lasso,- for me at the very core of this story is Cami and Richi who are bound to eachother having lost someone so close to them. Their dynamic and their growth holding eachother up is what I'd like to see more of in Season 2.
two amazing actors who i never pictured sitting down having a chat!
I never knew I needed this duo
Listening to Jennifer talk about seizing the moment and being present in her own success is so valuable and insightful. Don’t know how to describe it but that stuck with me the most
love this duo so mich for various reasons, what a great conversation this was

Just amazing! Thanks for this 🙏
Jennifer Coolidge's magnificently over the top portrayal of Angie Serabian in the "Dial M for Provenza" episode of 'The Closer' was the highlight of summer 2008, and I still laugh and feel good all over just thinking about it!
