This song is from ABBA "disco" era......it's a masterpiece, just like all their other music. And as always I love your reactions. You're discovering ABBA in your own time and space. It's a joy to watch you finding how great the music of ABBA is....
"As good as new" (1979) is the opening track of the album "Voulez Vous" and it is one of my favorites from the album (8pts) it has a surprising opening with strings reminiscent of classical music, to move to a constant danceable rhythm, Agnetha's voice fine and powerful and that "Ma ma ma ma ma ma..." outstanding (i believe is unique in ABBA songs) and then a beautiful pre-choir and pure choir together with Frida ABBA's trademark with their magical 'Third Voice' and an ending as abrupt as it is great a little more than three minutes of concrete music prettier to listen than to dance and that is what I value the most (it seems that Agnetha's voice suits the disco rhythm very well in fact at the current 'Voyage Concerts' in London of the four songs in the 'disco section' two are with Agnetha on lead vocals even if they are not from this album) "As good as new" paradoxically it is one of the most underrated songs on the album "Voulez Vous" It was only performed live on the 1979 tour of North America and Europe, which ended in Japan in 1980. It does not have an official video, although a fan made one with images showing ABBA during the trip in the United States and it was released as a single in very few countries, but coincidentally one of them was Argentina Thanks again for your fantastic reaction I wish you a great week see in the next track my best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina South America
A cracking opening to the Voulez Vous album with Agnetha’s hard hitting vocals, the great harmonies at the end and a key change thrown in for good measure. ABBA albums always had a great opening song as you will see on your journey.
This song is the very best at the album Voulez-Vous to me - a real masterpiece! Thank you for this ABBA-tour! Go on and I will follow you! Try for Eagle, (important it’s the long version) and The Name Of The Game. Two other great vibes of ABBA - both from ABBA-The Album! 🙂
Until now he didn't react anyone of "The Album" and for me is the Best ABBA album each song is different and fantástic included the special mini musica The Girl with the Golden Hair
Love your reaction Chase - your joy is infectious. Voulez Vouz is a phenomenal album. With that I recommend the title song "Voulez Vouz" (French of course for "are you willing/will you?). You also need to check out "I'm a Marrionette" (both the live concert and studio version). Guaranteed to blow you away. Keep spreading the joy!
This is my all time fave ABBA song - it’s the opening track of their 1979 album Voulez Vous and wasn’t a single so that’s probably why it has fewer views - Agnetha’s vocals are superb on this track
This has always been my favourite track on the Voulez Vous album. Every time I hear it it’s as fresh as the first. It was never released as a single from the album hence not as well known. There are hidden album tracks. I Wonder (Departure) is beautiful but Hole in your Soul is pure rock. The second one is best to react to the joint live version with Does Your Mother Know. Seriously it will blow your mind
It's an album track rather than a single so that will explain the lower views. It's always been one of my faves by them. The Voulez Vous album is amazing!
Knowing the song so well, I was looking forward to seeing your reaction, because I knew what was coming. It blew my mind when I started playing the album for the first time on Christmas Day 1979. Along with The Visitors & Eagle it’s one of my favourite opening tracks.
First time I have heard this song. It just goes to show what a varied repertoire ABBA has in their discography! I have never been to an ABBA concert but have been to watch the Björn Again tribute act. Currently, ABBA has made a virtual comeback in a show/concert called ABBA voyage.
I just love this song. Glad you do too. My favourite Abba album and almost my favourite track … that honour goes to Kisses of Fire. Please review it soon!!!! I love how you are discovering Abba. For something totally different but just as awesome try Disillusion and I’m Still Alive. ❤
What a GREATTTT reaction you had to a phenomenally under rated song! It is one of my all time favourites, and that you can see and hear all the different blends of music and lyrics in this awesome song is super refreshing and exciting that younger generations like you are being entertained by ABBA's musical genius! Thanks for the fun reactions! I', a big fan! :)
Love your reaction! There are so many unexpected elements to like about this song. The almost frantic energy, combining the classical motive with the rock beat, she modulation - how many pop/rock songs modulate? Not many - the chromatic chord on “Ma ma ma ma ma ma ma, the bridge Etc etc. such a great song.
The reason for the "low" views is that this is only an album track from Voulez-Vous album 1979. The thing with ABBA is that most of their album tracks could have been singles to because the standard is so high
I love how enthusiastically you comment on every single Abba song and I love that you make me listen to all the wonderful Abba songs again after all those years 🙂
I think that , before "I wonder (departure)" is better to him react before "Thank You for the music" because both songs are in a sequence (with I'm a marionette, at last) of the mini musical "The Girl with the Golden hair"
This is such a great song. It was the opener of their 1979 album "Voulez-Vous". It was an album track and not a single but a great quality song nonetheless. Agnetha's vocals in this cannot be any better. She hits every note effortlessly & her vocal style & timbre is just glorious.
Thx for your great reactions I like to watch them This song is also one of my favorites You should try "kisses of fire" from the same album Another big one
I think you will love "Eagle." I think it's one of their best songs, BUT... please react to the full album version. The official video is heavily edited and not nearly as good.
The best clip imo is from 'Weisskatzen1965" channel to this.Majestic! The ultimate , long version , combined with the clip from 'ABBA THE MOVIE" and the '78 edited clip.
Great song, huh, Chase? And still not my favourite of this album - that honour belongs to "Kisses Of Fire" and "If It Wasn't For The Nights". So much to discover for you, enjoy it!
'Kisses of fire' but NOT just the audio but the popular ' ABBA TV special in Swizerland' famous performance produced by the BBC!This is not to be missed!Especially Agnetha's thrilling dreamy intro while flirting with the camera.,aahhh!
That was nice, but i gotta admit that filmed songs from Abba Live 1977 Australia are even more exciting imo. It's like an 'electric' colourful adventure.
I'll never know why I had to go Why I had to put up such a lousy rotten show Boy, I was tough, packing all my stuff Saying I don't need you anymore, I've had enough And now, look at me standing here again 'cause I found out that Ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma my life is here Gotta have you near As good as new, my love for you And keeping it that way is my intention As good as new and growing too Yes, I think it's taking on a new dimension It's as good as new, my love for you Just like it used to be and even better As good as new, thank God it's true Darling, we were always meant to stay together Feel like a creep, never felt so cheap Never had a notion that my love could be so deep How could I make such a dumb mistake Now I know I'm not entitled to another break But please, baby, I beg you to forgive 'cause I found out that Ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma my life is here Gotta get you near I thought that our love was at an end but here I am again As good as new, my love for you And keeping it that way is my intention As good as new and growing too Yes, I think it's taking on a new dimension It's as good as new, my love for you Just like it used to be and even better As good as new, thank God it's true Darling, we were always meant to stay together Yes the love I have for you feels as good as new Darling, we were always meant to stay together
Another song from their disco phase that only appeared on the B-side of the single Chiquitita is Lovelight. You should check that out when you get the chance. They did sing As good as new during their 1979 tour.
the magic is because of this....and if this isn't enough reason to have to at least consider reincarnation, Benny who wrote the music is born on the same day as Beethoven and Björn who wrote the lyrics, on the same day as Shakespeare...and then we have those angelic voices of the two beauties. ABBA music will be treasured as long as both afore mentioned genuises. :-) Love your reactions. I've loved ABBA since 1975, starting with SOS. Chris Montreal, Canada
And suddenly you've popped up as a suggestion on RUclips, and you've taken me back nearly 50 years. As someone born in the UK in the 1960's, and growing up in the 1970's ABBA were a huge part of the era (whether you liked their music or not). It really pleases me that 50 years on, people are still discovering how wonderfully inventive they were. This album as many singles and a few underrated such as "Kisses of Fire". ABBA - The Disco Era was pretty brilliant. When you have completed Abba's albums, look into Benny and Bjorn's stage musical "CHESS"
I love it too - as do many other ABBA Fans. Sadly - Benny dislikes it. He's actually said that it: 'Goes nowhere'. He even thinks that ABBA should never have Recorded it.
This song was not released worldwide as a single, but briefly reached number 1 in Mexico (an "aftershock" after Chiquitita, which was at the top for over half a year). I'm missing a musically interesting middle part, but a good album opening song. There is a similarly structured short ending song KISSES OF FIRE that you would definitely enjoy. There is a TV video of both songs in the tent in Leysin/Switzerland that was set up as part of the BBC special in 1979, where the Chiquitita video was also filmed. Do it well. I love your reactions - yes they are all brilliant, but such different songs. Try Summer night City (both official video and live versions) and the Name of the Game for two of Abba's greatest songs - they have stood the test of time and then some! Oh and Lovers live a little Longer from the Abba in Switzerland show, A great song - Annifrid and Agnetha really enjoy singing this song - they are on fire.
Great track - but never released as a single. It has no video. Only those that have the album would really know it well. Haha - I love how each new track is your new favourite! :-)
Yeah it is a low view count for them but it had very limited release as a single (few South American countries) With a lot of their videos though, you have to remember there are often many videos of the same track with views split between them so the view count of one video can be a bit misleading. So for example dancing queen has 815M views but the next fan made video or upload of it has another 90M+ views and so on.
Now listen my awesome friend. Black Betty by Ram Jam will blow your brains. Trust me. Enjoy. 70s One off hit. You’re gonna luv it. FACT. PS As always can’t wait for ya reaction. To date ALL of your reactions have echoed my favourite youth greatest musical memories. I never heard this one till 5 years ago. Prepare yourself. Big time.
Your review of this made me subscribe. I can’t even begin with ABBA. There is just too much to write. Let’s just say that you will be quite busy 🙂 I think you just picked and upload with less views. This song is very celebrated. I’m glad you discovered the Voulez-Vous album.
Maybe give up saying it's my new favourite? There are so many great songs in their catalogue. And if you can really find some "hidden gem", then I (and the rest of the world) will be astonished. Anyway, love your reactions whilst you continue making your discoveries.
This is a pretty good one!😊 Apparently you like variety in music... I assume you'll end up being a new ABBA fan...😀 try 'Does your mother know' or 'Tropical loveland' Take care... see ya, Chase! ❤️🇨🇱🤗👍
ABBA did not really have hidden gems, only masterpieces which some people have not yet heard😊
Ah ha! Perfectly stated!
This song is from ABBA "disco" era......it's a masterpiece, just like all their other music. And as always I love your reactions. You're discovering ABBA in your own time and space. It's a joy to watch you finding how great the music of ABBA is....
I'm first! 😀 Voulez-Vous, a very under-appreciated album due to its disco-ness. It is, however, pure brilliance cover to cover.
Wow, thank you!
Yes!!!
"As good as new" (1979)
is the opening track of the album "Voulez Vous"
and it is one of my favorites from the album (8pts)
it has a surprising opening
with strings reminiscent of classical music,
to move to a constant danceable rhythm,
Agnetha's voice fine and powerful
and that "Ma ma ma ma ma ma..." outstanding
(i believe is unique in ABBA songs)
and then a beautiful pre-choir and pure choir together with Frida
ABBA's trademark with their magical 'Third Voice'
and an ending as abrupt as it is great
a little more than three minutes of concrete music
prettier to listen than to dance
and that is what I value the most
(it seems that Agnetha's voice suits the disco rhythm very well
in fact at the current 'Voyage Concerts' in London
of the four songs in the 'disco section'
two are with Agnetha on lead vocals
even if they are not from this album)
"As good as new"
paradoxically it is one of the most underrated songs on the album "Voulez Vous"
It was only performed live on the 1979 tour of North America and Europe,
which ended in Japan in 1980.
It does not have an official video,
although a fan made one with images showing ABBA during the trip in the United States
and it was released as a single in very few countries,
but coincidentally one of them was Argentina
Thanks again for your fantastic reaction
I wish you a great week
see in the next track
my best regards from
Buenos Aires, Argentina
South America
"Hey, Hey Helen" is another great gem from them.
A cracking opening to the Voulez Vous album with Agnetha’s hard hitting vocals, the great harmonies at the end and a key change thrown in for good measure. ABBA albums always had a great opening song as you will see on your journey.
Another fine reaction 😊
'Eagle' is a musical masterpiece.. complimented by the stunning vocals.. you will love it!
I will check it out
Specially the album version (close to 6 minutes ) is much better than the single verion
Until now he didn't react anyone of "The Album"

The Girl with the Golden Hair
Try "The Visitors" next. You will be blown away.
WILL DO !
Amazing song
Agreed. I think he will love it too
Love your reaction Chase - your joy is infectious.
THANK YOU!
It's a very fun, bouncy tune! Agnetha hits it out of the ballpark with her remarkable high notes!
This is my all time fave ABBA song - it’s the opening track of their 1979 album Voulez Vous and wasn’t a single so that’s probably why it has fewer views - Agnetha’s vocals are superb on this track
@@markiebaby Agnetha sounds 'nasty',vibrant and determined here on this. Her most funky delivery. She nails it.
I don't know why people are so astounded by Agnitha's vocals. She is the best soprano to sing popular music, after all.
Such a great song for sure. ABBA fans love this whole album.
It was my favorite song on that album, and still is.
Welcome to the league of ABBA fandom LOL
So much more you'll love, enjoy!
This has always been my favourite track on the Voulez Vous album. Every time I hear it it’s as fresh as the first. It was never released as a single from the album hence not as well known. VOYAGE show has overpassed 1,6 million ticket sales. It's the closest you can get transported in the era Abba was on tour.'Jaw dropping".You'll cry.
I just love this song. Glad you do too.
My favourite Abba album and almost my favourite track … that honour goes to Kisses of Fire. Please review it soon!!!!
I love how you are discovering Abba.
For something totally different but just as awesome try Disillusion and I’m Still Alive. ❤
I never heard this song before and I love ABBA. Thank you for reacting to this song.
My fav song from this album. It is so funky. Agnetha sounds so strong. A compact baroque disco suite!
What a GREATTTT reaction you had to a phenomenally under rated song! Agnetha's voice really shines on this song.
A mastersclass in songwriting
one of my favorites

Big Abba fan here.. and yeah.. total awesome track! 👌
Thanks!!! 🫵your REACTION !!!☺️✅👊💪❤😅😊
ABBA is LIFE!!!
You should make an ABBA playlist at your channel, so everybody can see which songs of them you have already reacted to.
Please react to I Wonder (Departure) and I Let The Music Speak, they are absolute masterpieces..they are ART not just songs :)

is better to him react before "Thank You for the music"
because both songs are in a sequence
(with I'm a marionette, at last)
of the mini musical
"The Girl with the Golden hair"
Definitely a hidden gem for casual fans!! A huge favourite of mine though since day 1!
Looooove ABBA
THANKS AGAIN ❤
They could have much more hits if they only put it out as single (with a video!). So much albumtracks are hitmaterial!
Please react to ABBA "Just A Notion" ...it's from their first album in 40 years (released in 2021).
This is such a great song. It was the opener of their 1979 album "Voulez-Vous". It was an album track and not a single but a great quality song nonetheless. Agnetha's vocals in this cannot be any better. She hits every note effortlessly & her vocal style & timbre is just glorious.

I like to watch them
This song is also one of my favorites

Yes, it's a hidden gem for some, but you'll really find one if you locate "Get On The Carousel."

There is NOBODY better than ABBA!
I'll never know why I had to go
Why I had to put up such a lousy rotten show
Boy, I was tough, packing all my stuff
Saying I don't need you anymore, I've had enough
And now, look at me standing here again 'cause I found out that
Ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma my life is here
Gotta have you near
As good as new, my love for you
And keeping it that way is my intention
As good as new and growing too
Yes, I think it's taking on a new dimension
It's as good as new, my love for you
Just like it used to be and even better
As good as new, thank God it's true
Darling, we were always meant to stay together
Feel like a creep, never felt so cheap
Never had a notion that my love could be so deep
How could I make such a dumb mistake
Now I know I'm not entitled to another break
But please, baby, I beg you to forgive 'cause I found out that
Ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma my life is here
Gotta get you near
I thought that our love was at an end but here I am again
As good as new, my love for you
And keeping it that way is my intention
As good as new and growing too
Yes, I think it's taking on a new dimension
It's as good as new, my love for you
Just like it used to be and even better
As good as new, thank God it's true
Darling, we were always meant to stay together
Yes the love I have for you feels as good as new
Darling, we were always meant to stay together
The first song on my favourite ABBA album 😊👍
With ABBA the journey gets even better once you start exporing the album tracks like this one. Just found your channel, loving it so far!!!
You need to listen to "Me and I!
If you want to hear Bjørns lovely voice, please listen to «Another town another train» it is such a wonderfull song 😊
Another song from their disco phase that only appeared on the B-side of the single Chiquitita is Lovelight. You should check that out when you get the chance. They did sing As good as new during their 1979 tour.
How about Lay All Your Love On Me 😍
all ABBA songs are good, and many to shoose from
Amazing song !!!! 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯
Amazing song actually, also "If It Wasn't For The Nights" and "Angel Eyes" from the same album Voulez Vouzs.

ABBA - The Disco Era was pretty brilliant.

This album, Voulez-Vous is probably my favorite album of theirs. Just great from beginning to end. I wore it OUT back in the day! LOL
TIL it was an A-side in Mexico and reached Number 1 there.
This is also one of my favorite ABBA songs. In your spare time revisit that song and select the next one down which is a great fan video.
This song was released as a single in Mexico and was number 1 at the end of 1979.
I love ABBA ❤
Thank you, Chase! 🆕
I love it too - as do many other ABBA Fans. Sadly - Benny dislikes it. He's actually said that it: 'Goes nowhere'. He even thinks that ABBA should never have Recorded it.
Not really a surprise. Benny is usually fondest of his more classical stuff.
I disagree with Benny.Dare i?lol.
If you listen to all the songs...your going to have loads of new favourites..
Look for Abba's "Get on the carousel" never released but the live video is out there. Please review it. Your channel is so infectiously happy!!!!
Hip-hop boy lurves disco@!!!
Have you reviewed ABBA’s Voulez Vous ?
This song was only on the Voulez-Vous album. I don't believe it was ever released as a single. This is one of my favorites as well!!
Do it well.

So true... And every time Chase releases an ABBA reaction video, that becomes my new favourite ABBA reaction video!
The Voulez Vous is definitely my favorite and this song wasn't released as a single in most places which may explain fewer views.
Yeah it is a low view count for them but it had very limited release as a single (few South American countries)

The could have made three hits out of this one.. But they made only one... rest my case
This is a pretty good one!😊
Apparently you like variety in music... I assume you'll end up being a new ABBA fan...😀
try 'Does your mother know'
or 'Tropical loveland'
Take care... see ya, Chase!
❤️🇨🇱🤗👍
I'm not a tropical loveland fan but does your mother know is brilliant
Thanks! 😃
Screw Super Trouper? No, never. It's a solid gold classic!
Not all the greatest songs gets the greatest views, keep in mind that average IQ is 100. The top songs are going to be less represented.
It's a song without a video. Such songs always have a much lower number of views...
The single that never was. I think it should have. Strange it get so few views, maybe people goes for singles only /Kenneth
You can't even snap your fingers in step with the music. You are not a musical person. People who like rap made after 1986 are not musical.
Not my favourite song by them.
