That was the opening track to the album that got you at once into it's funky disco mood.Aggy's delivery to this song is one word, FIRE!Possibly her most dynamic voice transformation.
One of my absolute favorites! This song was a perfect opening track for the "Voulez-Vous" album because it was quintessential disco and it let you know exactly what you were going to get on the whole album, which was a non-stop party!
That was cute, including your mum. This is a classic example of an album track that casual fans don't even know about, but is just so good, like If It Wasn't for the Nights, One Man, One Woman, My Love, My Life, When All is Said and Done and so many more. 🙂
So exited about their comeback tonight with the Voyage concert in London. Watching now on youtube celebrities arriving and all ABBA members greeting people outside the arena 🤗
First off, your mother is so lovely and you should absolutely do a double reaction with her! And I'm thrilled you did another track from voulez-vous which is absolutely Abba's best album bar none! From the album tracks to the singles to the extended version of the album we have today it is a flawless listen. I highly recommend you react to The king has lost his crown next from it, It's a very unusual song lyrically And that's one of my favorites from ABBA because it shows that women especially Frida with a kind of attitude and sass, she's deliciously vindictive in it! Or I don't think you've done I have a dream yet? And that's one of their most iconic songs and quite beautiful.
Great song, it sounds as fresh now as it did in the 1970s. The live version of this song is great too, and it's played in a more staccato manner. Agnetha's vocal on this is superb. And I like the 'cold ending', which was not a common thing at all in the 70s. What a cute mother/son combo you are!
This is a brilliant song .. Glad you loved it too .. And definitely bring your mother back for a full reaction with you some time .. She 's a sweetheart and an ABBA fan .. That qualifies !
Always great to watch your ABBA reactions, still missing Marissa, hopefully she returns soon. You are always great together in your reactions. Great surprise when your mom suddenly appeared.
"As Good as New" was releesede as a Single in South America : "As Good as New" is a song recorded in 1979 by Swedish group ABBA, and was used as the opening track on their Voulez-Vous album. The lead vocals are by Agnetha Fältskog. "As Good as New" was Released As a Single In Mexico As a Double A-side With "I Have a Dream", Where It Became ABBA's Ninth ( 9 and final) Number - one hit. "As Good as New" was also released in Argentina and in Bolivia.
I love your reactions! I've been an ABBA fan for almost 50 years. It is awesome to see younger people discover ABBA and be blown away much as I was so long ago.
one of the best songs from this album. should have been a single. it has everything going for it. swedish group ALCAZAR does a faithful cover of this . you should check it out
Gosh love how you’re mum is looking at you. So much love… and you come after her lol. Like i do after my mum. I don’t have to tell anyone I m her son. It’s obvious. She‘s now 86 and has dementia but still full of love. Cherish her love. There’s only one mum. Sorry got carried away a bit but my mums life is going to end soon and it’s heartbreaking to see a your mum slowly disappear in spirit and body..
Another amazing reaction to an incredible song - you always bring joy to my week! and you still have so many gems to discover 😎 definitely need to check out One of Us and Head Over Heels soon 🤞
Amazing song Yes! Aand nice reaction video. Your mom stepping in was a reality nod, welcome to those. Plus great you are open to partnerships, you seem to have a talent for these. You'll see fit when its mom or others, keep on!
Yeah, this song is damn near perfection. If there was a template used for this song I would have to say it’s same one used for “Mamma Mia”. They both begin with a quirky but captivating intro, then engulf you with an irresistible beat. Then the band is stripped back for the chorus. It’s the perfect sing-along ear worm that even shamelessly includes hand clapping. I love Agnetha’s vocals…..she ditches the angst and phonetic enunciation…..she puts a little growl in her voice for the “never felt so cheap” and it is just pure fire. Such a perfect intro to the album and solidifies the perfect 1-2 punch of the albums first 2 songs. Want your next song recommendation? Go for On and On and On. It’s entirely different but still absolutely infectious
Your reaction to this was exactly like mine when the song first came out. Being the precursor to voulez vous which follows it sets the tone for the rest of the album. Please react to Kisses of fire.
There was a music video for this too I think with parts of their tour of the states and Wembley at the end. Also you'll have to try Voulez-Vous the song soon for it's upbeat dance track! The lyric video ABBA recently out out has some good video of them dancing and singing it in a well cut way. And there's also a live performance which is very entertaining and the the girls are in quite colourful lycralike sparkling costumes
This was the perfect opener of the Voulez-Vous album. I remember feeling a bit doubtful how they were gonna come back after the announcement of Bjorn & Agnetha's divorce just a couple of months earlier. But this opening song of the album erased all doubts. They sounded more vibrant and energetic than ever. Indeed "As Good As New".
Myfave of the album almost tie with if it wasn’t for the nights. Agnetha‘s best vocal performance alongside Lay All Your Love On Me… it’s a splendid opener for the album. No it didn’t show up in any film or musical. Yep I think it’s their best disco song and highly ignored and underrated. At least they did it live on tour 1979… yep it should have been a single instead of Voulez Vous which was a commercial failure as a single back then.
I think the song with the most classical influence is "I Let The Music Speak" but as I already said I hope you will react to this song together with Marissa. Nonetheless I hope for a Frida lead song next, because the last three months there had been only Agnetha leads and shared vocals. So please do a Frida lead song unless Marissa wants you to react to them together with her. I hope she can come back soon. 👍
I feel the same way you do. That's why many people might think Agnetha is the band's lead singer. But in general, I think people who react to songs don't know what to expect or who the lead singer will be. They react to ABBA, and that's it. Great that Marissa has a soft spot for Frida, though. You don't see that very often.
@@6549Marci Yes you're right and I don't want to blame Tyler for that because in most cases it depends on the suggestions he got from the viewers. And when you read the comments, only a few suggest songs with Frida in lead vocals.
@@Lisa-M And 6549Marci.Yesterday afternoon till 2-3 am was watching all video reports from the London premier where they were all 4 there.FRIDA was in amazing style. She had some slight difficulty in motion cause of a recent hip surgery but she was very talkative, vivid and very happy.I got so emotional watching them got so tearful. For some seconds i couldn't even breath properly.Up to now the project was stated to be FANTASTIC and mindblowing and i'm so happy and proud.Good day girls.

Is it clever and unique fusion of classic and disco,,,And it has a key change,,, do love a good key change!
You may also like Lovers (Live a little longer), though Watch Out is mind-blowing.
My favourite is "Watch Out" from 1974. It has a very glam-rock-type of vibe.
@@mirjammehmann8303 And it sounds like nothing anything else they've done. (okay, that can be said about a LOT of their music)
