wow how young does Michael Portillo look I have been watching the railway programmes recently which he presents. Sadly I feel that the bus service is not any better now after so many years.

Those MA's were basically vans with bus bodywork chucked on top!! Great to drive as very quick but the passenger ride was awful.
This was late 1988/early '89 , By1990 route 39 had these as i started as a driver at putney.

Yeah that's it, U2 Joshua tree won album of the year at the Grammy's, Charles and Diana were on the rocks, Berlin wall was about to be knocked down, summer of love was just around the corner and the rest!

1:05 See the little 'Darling Car' behind the Scottish guy talking a 'Ron' bus which dates this slightly despite the fact that this was recorded on video film giving full colour, crisp clear vision and sound which makes all these news clips feel fresh and 'like they were recorded yesterday' despite the fact that they are now years and decades ago!

It's shot on video, not video film, there's no such thing as video film. Just video (tape, disc or flash) or film, which is on celluloid.
