    A broken brake booster hose will also cause this code and limp mode. Part of the hose is hard plastic and is susceptible to cracking and/or breaking. Ask me how I know.

      This is what happened to me. But I’m still getting a p0299 and now a p00af. Any input?

    FYI I had this code ( '14 jetta 1.8 tsi) and a very surprising fix, I'd get p29900 and epc with heavy throttle, especially under load. Acceleration was weak and turbo had leak test showing no leak no acuator issue. Was going to try to replace Diverter valve as last idea. I replaced all my sensors but the CRANKSHAFT SENSOR. I swapped it for a new one since I already had the car on stnads not thinking it would affect much and seems to have completely fixed it. Back to normal accerlation, no EPC or codes even if I redline, and the weird noise with heavy throttle before that sounded like boost leak or tubro issue seems to be gone. If you haven't tried Crankshaft sensor or you have stock sensor and higher mileage could be WELL worth a new sensor! 2014 jetta 1.8 tsi, 150k mi

      P29900? I am getting a P0299. Just had my epc pop on today and have been trying to figure it out. Within the last few days it did feel like I needed a new cam shaft sensor and then this. Might swap that and see if it was the issue.

    Mate, you’re supposed to adjust this actuator with vag software. It’s not just measuring a length of pin only. Wrong adjustment may case a engine failure. FYI under pressure you should have 0.65- 0.85v and without pressure 3.40-3.80v.

      Thanks for the voltage ranges. I don't have VAG software so I pushed needles through the wires and measured the values with a multimeter and they were correct. I setup the nut to the same position on the old actuator but it was good the check.

    just a quick one, what are the signs that it is the diaphragm. like can you visually see it’s faulty or is it internally split? also would this cause an intermittent underbody fault?

    • @BarnClubCars
      @BarnClubCars  4 месяца назад

      You can’t see it but if you put your finger over the vacuum hole and move the actuator then you should feel the suction. If you don’t then the diaphragm is split.

    replaced the actuator and still have the same issue- before it was burning white smoke when I drove- now its not but I still have the same glow plug flashing and same code and no boost.- Any recommendations?

    • @BarnClubCars
      @BarnClubCars  Год назад +1

      It could be the pressure converter valve or the n75 valve.

    i have underboost issue, but mechanically everything works correctly but 0 boost is created. Turbo spins freely

    • @BarnClubCars
      @BarnClubCars  Год назад

      If it’s not the diaphragm on your actuator then I’d check your n75 / boost pressure sensor. Then check for boost leaks.

      Sounds like you’ve had a bad time with it.
      The things to check would be -
      -Vacuum leaks / split vac line.
      - Boost leak from intake side (smoke test would confirm this)
      -Faulty actuator .
      - Faulty N75 valve.
      - Faulty boost pressure valve.
      -Sticking turbo veins, either carbon clean or spray mr muscle in the top of the turbo through the egr hole. Or fit a new turbo with new actuator attached.
      Thats the main things I’d check.
