I’ve had turbo issues since converting a 2020 vw crafter. Last couple of weeks no turbo at all and so slow acceleration. I was just ready to replace turbos, vacuum pump and everything else related to the 0299 code until I tried releasing the actuator rod. Was really stiff first few times then released itself and sprung back on its own. Took it for a drive and what do you know it drives normal again with twin turbos back! Thanks so much for posting this. Hopefully it will all be ok now as long as I don’t leave it sitting too long again 👍

Ima have to give this a shot, my code just came on, but the car was sitting for about 4 months since the clutch went out. New clutch installed and now only boosting at 5psi.

I got vw passat B8 2.0tdi E288 with 222k and get P00299 intermittently when the car warms up. accelerating on highway in 3rd gear easy up slope and around bit more than half a gas and it just cuts power and goes to safe. Today i just learned that this error resets itself when the car is off for at least 5 minutes. I got odb eleven pro now so i think im gonna try and log it. I changed the wastegate actuator and wastegate control valve. I think its called N95. Still the same. i will try vacuum hoses, sensors, egr, intake smoke test. Start of last year mechanic did big service and i think somewhere around that time the error started.

What cleaner spray? Would intake valve cleaner work? Mass air cleaner?
