I am facing a similar sound when I accelerate post the 2000 mark where there is a hissing sound which comes from the lower left hand side of the dashboard interior. The sound doesn't come much when the AC is in recirculation mode but becomes loud when the AC not in recirculation mode and the vent is open. Recently I got my car serviced from VW service center here and there were no fault codes whatsoever. Is it the Turbo Pressure Leak or Vaccum Leak or the AC circulation pipe issue or completely normal and no issues at all? The car is 6+ year old. I don't remember hearing this sound in past years but only noticed it in last 1 year. Please guide and help!
Sir there is a cutout in the firewall for the recirculation valve to have the outside air , over time it gets deposited with dust and the recirculation flap is not able to seal against the surface properly , which lets the "hiss" pull sound of turbo inside . So its just dust , you can bend inside the passenger area and you will be able to see it and clean as well
Hey bro.... I love the content that you make. I have Skoda Rapid 2014 1.6 TDI. My turbo failed few months ago so I changed the core just the Turbocharger Core. Now the car's performance has gone down and the turbo makes a whistle sound be it in low or high RPM. I'm getting this error code - P004500 (Turbocharger / Supercharger) Boost Control 'A' Circuit/Open 'Active/Static'. Can you please suggest what to do.
Noise is nothing to worry about , ECM is just trying to control the vacuum by rapidly opening and closing of the solenoid which creates that "tak tak" noise

Ive a 2.0 tdi with low boost limp mode.. Only comes on when going on a motorway, maybe after 65mph or 70mph, turn car off and on and it goes but it will keep coming back. What could thst be ? Dpf has been removed and its remapped by previous owner

Hi thank you very for a good explanation on a complex vacuum system on a car. After replacement of the turbo by the workshop, my car went in limb mode no boost at all. After some research I discover someone has cut around 2cm of the pressure inverter hose into the wastegate which result in a big leakage. The engine does not run smoothly and h brake was hard. B diagnosting with Autophix i revealed short cut on the booster pressure solemoid. After replacing the hose and replacing the solenoid the vacuum system work again. Now the engine runs more smoothly and the brake works. Still I have the error 29A400 telling me the charging pressurre actuator closed too far/positive contol deviation. My car BMW 525D Xdrive 2012. I think the wastegate is done electronically, Do you know what kind of tools I must use to calibrate the wastegate prroperly?
Thank you very much. Can I use a vacuum/pressure handpump like Mityvac 8255 connecting to the wastegate and calibrate the pressure to the crank pressure point. About 7-8psi or 0,8 bar. I have checked the end of the wastegate actuator rode, it is loose and the flap is open. The handle should be firmed attached to the end rode and the rode should be turned -4 times or more to close the flap. @@yourDIYneeds
@dinhvanpham8102 Sir that depends upon the vehicle to vehicle setting, but if you are sure about the reading then go ahead , its the proper mechanical way to do it .
You mention a special tool to calibrate the veins o turbo. Do you mean a tool like 2023 Elite LAUNCH X431 Diagun V Bi-Directional Scan Tool, or Autel Maxicom Mk808BT Bi-directional. I think both has service capacity to calibrate the veins of turbo.@@yourDIYneeds
Hi, I think I am near å solution for my turbocharger . I have a pair of Booster Pressure Solenoids and a pair of Charger pressure ventiles. A set of 1 Booster pressure solenoid and a charger pressure ventile which control the low pressure turbocharger and a another set of 1 Booster pressure solenoid and a charger pressure ventile for the high pressure turbocharger. After replacing 1 Solenoid and 1 charger pressure ventile and replacing the turbocharger. The turbocharger seems to work. It last only 4 days. When the car is cold the turbocharger has a lot of lag and the turbocharger seems not working at all. After driving for 10-15 minutes and the engine get hot 80 degree or higher. I can turn off the engine and restart, the turbocharger work again for about 10 minutes and the turbocharger stops working again. I have read that this is typical fault on the solenoid and maybe the charger ventile as well. On saturday the workshop is going to replace both the solenoid and the charger ventile for the pressure turbocharger. After saturday I have totally replaced 2 solenoids 2 charger ventiles and 1 map sensor and of course the turbocharger too. I have also replaced the map sensor. The map sensor was completely glogged with oil and dust. The map sensor did not work and can not give suck pressure. The map sensor was supposed to give up to 4 bar. After replacing the map sensor all drive train errors dissappear and the lag on the engine dissappar too. Now there is no problem climbing hills on full speed.

Sir if the car is pulling towards left , the very first thing to change is ideler arm bush , its also called ( steering centre pin bush for local mechanics ) Mechanic is telling you all this , so that he can make you pay more , because for changing the bush he will only earn around 200-300 as labour . Firstly get that done get it aligned , and then drive it and then decide .what else you want to change .
Hi I have a 2016 Jetta 1.4 tsi and my wastegate actuator seems to not close all the way sometimes and it makes a kind of ticking sound when I’m driving when it’s making boost . I get out the car to pull the wastegate rod close and it’s fine for awhile then it start again do I need a new wastegate actuator?
I have the code P2563 on my octavia 2.0tdi but it only comes when the engine is warm and is idling. The car runs fine and it has no boost problems. Is it possible that the vacum loss is so small that it makes error only on idle?
Sir feels like there is a difference in between specified value and actual value of the circuit , if you suspect the vacuum then it can be from the stem of vacuum pump as that's one place which is notorious for leaking vacuum in TDI engines But i don't think it's a vacuum , it's more of a correlation fault , so maybe a sensor is on its way out .
Sir seems like you got a blocked particulate filter , P2002 - particulate filter P0401 - egr flow issue P2563 - turbocharger charge issue P2015 - intake flow issue These all are related faults , one fault is effecting the other components , So i would advise you to go for the particulate filter first . Get it cleaned or replaced as you like , then clear the codes and see if they pop up again or not

Sir the code p0299 is for a underboost condition Start checking for any visual signs of loose pipe connections or any cracked pipes , also have the look at the vacume lines , as these things are usually rubber and can get cracked over time . Hope it helps

First check if there is any leak in the charge system ( from turbo to intake manifold ) like a loose pipe clamp of a punctured pipe line Second if it still exists then , it can be one of the two sensors which is faulty , either charge pressure sensor or VGT actuator.

sir its a code for under boost , check all the pipes and connection from turbo to intake manifold , either there is a loose connection which is letting air out or a pipe got cracked.

Sir the very first thing to check is the VGT actuator , which is on top of the turbo charger , if that's working fine then we will start to suspect the boost generated by tubo

No sir , its not due to egr , egr track starts after the exhaust manifold and then it returns some of gas to the intake back , if that intake return line is loose , thats a totally different things but egr has nothing to do with it
Sir for safari you need 24mm + oil filter tool and basic screwdriver set is needed ( for general service , but for further work you will need almost all the sockets for 10 to 21 mm

My booster control sensor show only 20 percent under the charge menu on my Autophix scanner. Sometime it show 100 percent , the percent change if i accelerate after i do a restart of engine, but mostly it shows only 20 present. The booster sensor is getting vacuum pressure from the vacuum control sensor, right? It is something wrong here, I think the booster control sensor should be steady at 100 percent to give enough pressure for the wastegate and actuator. Any comments?
Boost pressure sensor is reading the amount of boost and feeding that signal to ECU and then ECU decide and commands boost control sensor ( which controls the vacuum to the turbocharger) to provide more or restrict the vacuum to the turbo , so that the veins of the VGT or a wastegate gate can be controlled precisely , this loop runs till the desired value and actual value of boost matches . Sir i am more into reading boost in PSI and this percentage thing is always confusing , as it keeps you thinking , whether its the boost provided or boost remaining .
Thank you very much for a very good explanation. With your explanation in mind I understand a properly calibrate of the veins of turbocharger is important. Knowledge is very important and know how to use knowledge in practice. It seems to me my workshop dont know how to calibrate a turbocharger. I have several times tried to tell them that the errors 29A400 and 29A500 is because the turbocharger is not calibrated. The car keeps on throwing these errors all the time.

Hello, I have a golf 5 2.0 TDI 103kw 16V, 2004 year, I have repaired my turbo 3 days ago it was in terrible condition and I always had a problem of my car going into safe mode, I can drive it fast and give it full power but when I maintain a certain speed, let’s say 130km/h in 6th gear, after 15 - 20 seconds the car just goes into safe mode, it makes a weird whistle noise as if there is a hole in the pipes of the turbo but there is no holes.. If anyone can help I would be grateful.. I have it for 10 month’s and noone knows what is it.. Some say it’s because of throttle valve but I don’t know.
Sir the best thing is to check it with a scan tool and have a look at the live data . Check few parameters like charge pressure, vaccum , MAF values and check these things on both ends actual and specified, if you find any difference between actual and specified , then that is your problem
Sir it seems like you need to calibrate the wastegate actuator on turbo , maybe due to deposits , wastegate is not able to open or close completely, address that once and reset the codes and check again after all the these things
Sir maybe with odis its possible but of vcds is not showing the calibration options then its not possible through vcds , but my question is why do you want to do it ? Because engine automatic calibrates the amount of fuel delivery and pressure as per the requirement of engine on every rotation!

Sir it can happen due to 2-3 issues , 1. Clogged EGR cooler 2. Increased exhaust gas temp. Sir can you tell me if you feel like the engine is running hotter than normal ? Or power drop of any sort in any rev range ?

Sir you egr valve is open all the time , most probably it got stuck in open position , just get it uninstalled and cleaned properly ( both egr valve and cooler ) and along the way check the wires for any kind of physical damage as well .
Air ek bar coolant level ka dhyaan rakho ki kam to nahi ho raha ? , But kabhi kabhi aisa bhi ho sakta hai ki koi plastic bag silencer pipe pe stick ho gya ho and heat se melt ho raha ho
My car has difficult issue. When i start car vaccum is perfect bcz turbo actuator rod moving in actuator side then i shut off my car them its moving opposite of actuator but the problem is when i accelerate my car - actuator not move (No boost ( glow plug light also flashing) ) help me anyone
Have you checked the vacuum control actuator ? It is located on the co-passenger side just on the right side of the battery ? Its also called N95 valve

Sir vw tdi engines me thoda sa back compression ( blowby ) by design hi hota hai usme worry karne ki need hi nahi hai , baki agar fir bhi overhaul karne ka jab pta lagega , jab engine ek limit se jada oil consume karna start kar de ( 1 fl. Quarts of oil every 1000 miles ) ki limit tak bhi normal oil consumption consider kia jata hai , ye data vw USA ka hai , india specific data available hi nahi hai .

Sir you need to have a specialised tool to calibrate the veins of turbo , before that it will still throw codes of either underboost or overboost

You mention a special tool to calibrate the veins o turbo. Do you mean a tool like 2023 Elite LAUNCH X431 Diagun V Bi-Directional Scan Tool, or Autel Maxicom Mk808BT Bi-directional. I think both has service capacity to calibrate the veins of turbo.@@yourDIYneeds

Hi, I think I am near å solution for my turbocharger . I have a pair of Booster Pressure Solenoids and a pair of Charger pressure ventiles. A set of 1 Booster pressure solenoid and a charger pressure ventile which control the low pressure turbocharger and a another set of 1 Booster pressure solenoid and a charger pressure ventile for the high pressure turbocharger. After replacing 1 Solenoid and 1 charger pressure ventile and replacing the turbocharger. The turbocharger seems to work. It last only 4 days.
When the car is cold the turbocharger has a lot of lag and the turbocharger seems not working at all. After driving for 10-15 minutes and the engine get hot 80 degree or higher. I can turn off the engine and restart, the turbocharger work again for about 10 minutes and the turbocharger stops working again. I have read that this is typical fault on the solenoid and maybe the charger ventile as well. On saturday the workshop is going to replace both the solenoid and the charger ventile for the pressure turbocharger. After saturday I have totally replaced 2 solenoids 2 charger ventiles and 1 map sensor and of course the turbocharger too. I have also replaced the map sensor. The map sensor was completely glogged with oil and dust. The map sensor did not work and can not give suck pressure. The map sensor was supposed to give up to 4 bar. After replacing the map sensor all drive train errors dissappear and the lag on the engine dissappar too. Now there is no problem climbing hills on full speed.

Sir if the car is pulling towards left , the very first thing to change is ideler arm bush , its also called ( steering centre pin bush for local mechanics )
Mechanic is telling you all this , so that he can make you pay more , because for changing the bush he will only earn around 200-300 as labour .
Firstly get that done get it aligned , and then drive it and then decide .what else you want to change .

Hi I have a 2016 Jetta 1.4 tsi and my wastegate actuator seems to not close all the way sometimes and it makes a kind of ticking sound when I’m driving when it’s making boost . I get out the car to pull the wastegate rod close and it’s fine for awhile then it start again do I need a new wastegate actuator?

I have the code P2563 on my octavia 2.0tdi but it only comes when the engine is warm and is idling. The car runs fine and it has no boost problems. Is it possible that the vacum loss is so small that it makes error only on idle?
Sir feels like there is a difference in between specified value and actual value of the circuit , if you suspect the vacuum then it can be from the stem of vacuum pump as that's one place which is notorious for leaking vacuum in TDI engines
But i don't think it's a vacuum , it's more of a correlation fault , so maybe a sensor is on its way out .

Sir seems like you got a blocked particulate filter ,
P2002 - particulate filter
P0401 - egr flow issue
P2563 - turbocharger charge issue
P2015 - intake flow issue
These all are related faults , one fault is effecting the other components ,
So i would advise you to go for the particulate filter first . Get it cleaned or replaced as you like , then clear the codes and see if they pop up again or not

Hey I have a 2014 vento tdi .I notice since I got it, the brake pedal is very hard when I jump in a few minutes after I turned off ( 5 or 10) . Like a boost leakage but I don know if this is normal or not . It's not getting worst but I have it my mind

Sir seems like a vacuum leak , may be a leak from the vaccume lines or brake booster itself , thats why brakes are hard

Hello, I was wondering if you could possibly help me out I don’t make that much money and I’ve already putting a lot of money into my Volkswagen cc since I have gotten it the last few months I’m showing the P0299 code and the. Po420 .. not noticing a difference driving in the light goes on and off. Um, I thought I stopped hearing the turbo boost noise for a while but then I heard it today and the light was off from now the lights on. I’m gonna try to see if I can hear it. I’m not sure where to start. I do not have the money to bring it in a shop to work on it also got a couple scanners for Volkswagen ancel bd500 and vd700.. someone told me to start with the diverter valve. Maybe you could help me with some advice that would be great.
Sir the code p0299 is for a underboost condition
Start checking for any visual signs of loose pipe connections or any cracked pipes , also have the look at the vacume lines , as these things are usually rubber and can get cracked over time .

Please Please help me. I have serious problem in my VW Vento 1.6 TDI 2012 model. Problem is , when i my car reaches exactly at 100kmph , there is sudden drop of pikcup and glow light comes on and car stops pickinh up. On scanning with OBD , there is this error PO299 , Turbocharger Underboost.
Can you please tell me the fix ?
First check if there is any leak in the charge system ( from turbo to intake manifold ) like a loose pipe clamp of a punctured pipe line
Second if it still exists then , it can be one of the two sensors which is faulty , either charge pressure sensor or VGT actuator.

sir its a code for under boost , check all the pipes and connection from turbo to intake manifold , either there is a loose connection which is letting air out or a pipe got cracked.

Sir the very first thing to check is the VGT actuator , which is on top of the turbo charger , if that's working fine then we will start to suspect the boost generated by tubo

No sir , its not due to egr , egr track starts after the exhaust manifold and then it returns some of gas to the intake back , if that intake return line is loose , thats a totally different things but egr has nothing to do with it

Sir for safari you need 24mm + oil filter tool and basic screwdriver set is needed ( for general service , but for further work you will need almost all the sockets for 10 to 21 mm

Try adjusting the throttle pedal in exactly in a way that is just a bit less than , raising the rpm of engine .

My booster control sensor show only 20 percent under the charge menu on my Autophix scanner. Sometime it show 100 percent , the percent change if i accelerate after i do a restart of engine, but mostly it shows only 20 present. The booster sensor is getting vacuum pressure from the vacuum control sensor, right? It is something wrong here, I think the booster control sensor should be steady at 100 percent to give enough pressure for the wastegate and actuator. Any comments?
Boost pressure sensor is reading the amount of boost and feeding that signal to ECU and then ECU decide and commands boost control sensor ( which controls the vacuum to the turbocharger) to provide more or restrict the vacuum to the turbo , so that the veins of the VGT or a wastegate gate can be controlled precisely , this loop runs till the desired value and actual value of boost matches .
Sir i am more into reading boost in PSI and this percentage thing is always confusing , as it keeps you thinking , whether its the boost provided or boost remaining .
Thank you very much for a very good explanation. With your explanation in mind I understand a properly calibrate of the veins of turbocharger is important. Knowledge is very important and know how to use knowledge in practice. It seems to me my workshop dont know how to calibrate a turbocharger. I have several times tried to tell them that the errors 29A400 and 29A500 is because the turbocharger is not calibrated. The car keeps on throwing these errors all the time.
@dinhvanpham8102 , just tell them to do a turbocharger adaptation, ECU will sort it out on its own .

Hello, I have a golf 5 2.0 TDI 103kw 16V, 2004 year, I have repaired my turbo 3 days ago it was in terrible condition and I always had a problem of my car going into safe mode, I can drive it fast and give it full power but when I maintain a certain speed, let’s say 130km/h in 6th gear, after 15 - 20 seconds the car just goes into safe mode, it makes a weird whistle noise as if there is a hole in the pipes of the turbo but there is no holes.. If anyone can help I would be grateful.. I have it for 10 month’s and noone knows what is it.. Some say it’s because of throttle valve but I don’t know.
Sir the best thing is to check it with a scan tool and have a look at the live data .
Check few parameters like charge pressure, vaccum , MAF values and check these things on both ends actual and specified, if you find any difference between actual and specified , then that is your problem

Sir it seems like you need to calibrate the wastegate actuator on turbo , maybe due to deposits , wastegate is not able to open or close completely, address that once and reset the codes and check again after all the these things

1. Clogged EGR cooler
2. Increased exhaust gas temp.

Sir you egr valve is open all the time , most probably it got stuck in open position , just get it uninstalled and cleaned properly ( both egr valve and cooler ) and along the way check the wires for any kind of physical damage as well .

Have you checked the vacuum control actuator ? It is located on the co-passenger side just on the right side of the battery ? Its also called N95 valve

Quarts of oil every 1000 miles ) ki limit tak bhi normal oil consumption consider kia jata hai , ye data vw USA ka hai , india specific data available hi nahi hai .
